So...what you're saying is that you feel like killing a bunch...but don't have the skill to kill anyone other than unsuspecting teammates?
I'm not entirely sure how the seat-switching is an unfair advantage. A good pilot/gunner crew (especially those on TS/Vent - or is that an unfair tactic as well?) will generally win over a good soloist. If people say it is unfair for someone to take down other choppers soloing, doesn't it stand to reason that they will hit them even more if they have a good pilot driving them?lynxlyran wrote:

I dont give a fuck about honour, and I always, always punish teamkills. Go cry.
While I detest those lame-ass auto-punishers like Sarrk who punish for TKs that are absolutely no one's fault (I shoot down an enemy chopper and the falling debris kills a teammate = punish??) I am afraid I have to defend the spelling...

I agree - killing them at a distance deserves a punish. What irks me is when they step in front of my gun, coming from behind me, as I pull the trigger and THEN they punish for the TK.. That death was totally due to their stupidity.Impaqt wrote:

But, to the topic, no, I don't punish punishers.... I occasionally type away at them for a bit if I don't think the punish was deserved.
Taking out an enemy chopper with a stinger.... the wreckage falling on a teammate... and getting punished for the TK.
I asked him why he punished....sayin "it was clearly an accident..."

Both are terrible and quite lethal. I don't know how many times I've spotted the enemy attack chopper as a gunner, only to have the unaware pilot head to cap a flag while we get a TV missile up our exhaust pipes... (Seems to happen to me more on Oman than any other map...) I think you are more at the mercy of your pilot when gunning than the other way around. If you are a good pilot you have a chance of surviving using your evasion and air combat skills (I am not one of those most excellent pilots tho )AK5489 wrote:

The biggest thing I hate about it is the 64 player map as it is simply an armour whore-fest. Smaller maps are OK, but I have to say Sharqi has become my fav now.

I have seen that type of scenario played out many times... done it once or twice myself... THAT is what helps gives the impression of snipers being useless.Todd_Angelo wrote:
And, if I may be immodest for a second, although I can get tunnel vision a bit when sniping just as much as the next guy I have pulled a team's fat out of the fire many a time doing exactly what you say you've never seen... repeatedly on Sharqi (my favourite map), lots of times recently on Karkand, just last night on Wake. One claymore actually saved an entire game last night FYI; the guy in the tank who was also at North Village on Wake made the mistake of getting out to find me on foot... because I made sure I wasn't in a spot he could easily get me from within the tank... ran into it and this allowed me to take the flag, giving my team somewhere to spawn and we then lasted long enough for the tickets to run out on the USMC side (we were over 100 tickets ahead and things just went pear-shaped at the last minute). So much for snipers being useless

That is the secret - communicate. I must admit I am spoiled as I generally gun for guys in my clan on TS, but whenever possible, voice communication is the ticket. Once you are accustomed to a pilot, the amount of talk falls off as you just seem to know what's next in line to be wasted...YoBabysDaddy wrote:

Agree with your post 100%. The last time I commanded as MEC on Karkand I started as Spec Ops to blow the bridge. The tank driver for our side was an engineer...but refused to go around and he kept repeatedly repairing the damn bridge, despite initially polite explanations...that degenerated into "If you fix that effing bridge again..." followed by varioius threats of bodily harm. My clanmates were laughing at this asshat who seemingly had no grasp whatsoever of strategy/defense.Twist wrote:
As for the "set demolitions here". I give that order once in a while, becuase there WAS a guy in the squad who was engy or spec ops earlier. On eks. Karkand, it's VERY nice to blow up the bridge and then have C4 or mines at the only other viable/fast exit/entry points for the enemy cars/armor. And yet, almost noone follows the orders. In point of fact, most SLs seems determined that it's THEIR task to do the work ordered, not their entire squads task. It's frustrating to be the commander, you know ?

The only time I use 3rd person view in chopper is if I/ we have suddenly lost sight of the enemy chopper (through our own stupidity...) in a close air-air battle...and then only long enuff to spot him..
In general, I don't worry about accuracy othe than I die less when I shoot better... .

I hear ya! When I am on with clan mates, we do that..bypass hotel when USMC and do an end run to either gatehouse or suburbs (or both...)Sambuccashake wrote:
Hotel nade festival aside, I think the thing that bugs me the most is that whenever I play as USMC on this map, I'm the only one who goes for suburb and gatehouse (32 player map).
So after suffering a close loss, the server switch sides and the opposing USMC load up in armor and goes straight to suburb and wipe me away (only defender) and after capping, proceeds to gatehouse.
A few minuters later it's over for the mecs...
There was one time *dreamily ponders* that I joined a squad and we actually took suburb and gatehouse and had a lovely time assaulting the mec forces from the rear.
*Wipes tear*
Good times, good times...
Oh how I would love to play this map with a Team Work-oriented squad...
Does such a thing exist?
Other than that, it can he hard to get anyone to help ... I remember being at gatehouse and asking for help...no one comes... and then I ask the team why they won't leave the hotel battle... (That "strategic" throw-away point on the map) and they say "Cuz it's the MAIN FLAG"
Sigh.....
I tried putting them on the back of a tank to prevent those pesky spec-ops from putting their little "packages" on...they fell off... but I thought it would have beena fun surprise for them!
Here's another link (one of many to come, I'm sure..)

There are a couple of ways to look at this issue:
1) If the cyclists are out based on good evidence of their doping, this could be a good thing for cycling
2) If this is just more rumour-mongering designed to tarnish reputations, then this is clearly a bad day for cycling.
It is interesting that the focus is now off the American cyclists and now is all-encompassing. Is this a genuine effort (finally) to clean up a sport that has been tainted by rumours and dopers for years? Those of us who cycle/race (hence my handle...) think it could be and it is a very good thing and has been a very long time coming.
