Macros should be considered cheating because the game is not meant to be about who has the best program for exploiting the game with, you are supposed to use what the game and your system provides you. No one bought BF2 expecting third party macros were needed to be competitive - well...hardly any one, is my point.

I hate these guys. I wish the commander could do some thing about it. Such as, disbanding one man squads, maybe some sort of penalty for refusing to follow orders? I know there's plenty of incompetent commanders out there, the link between the commander and squads is too weak. The commander has no idea what is happening on the ground, etc.
But the commander does have the big picture. Who thinks commanders should be able to disband one man squads?

Very nice leading on the helicopters.

Is it even possible to TK with Cartillery? Will they just be "no more?"
Did not work- as soon as there's a connection issue (3 minutes?), WZC could not fix it. To get it working again I had to restart it.

I agree. My assessment of this game was that it was largely sub par and not interesting at all. Months later I came back and bought it, not because I thought well of it in the least, but because it's so damn fun. Ouch.PBAsydney wrote:

This topic is funny, there's one just like it every time a patch is released.
G3 is basically like an automatic SVD/Type 88.
Surely it's best to not have it on a LAN...but the internet is full of cheaters. I have been harassed by PB many times (outdated client, settings out of range, general crappy errors) but do you want a fair game?
I agree, tlol.5.56HaleStorm wrote:

Well, you can only attack with the bombs then, right? What are the chances you will hit some thing if you can't even estimate what ground you are over?MaddOps wrote:
Yeah it sucks, but then again its not a sim. And then what stops the assholes from flying above everything for the whole round and raining death down untouched by ground weapons.
And how can you fly above the fog the whole round when you need to get more bombs? Plus it takes time to get up and down.
I don't think it has any thing to do with death from above, planes can already fly above AA and toss wildly inaccurate bombs down. To actually hit things, you've got to expose your self to the AA.
It's always the people who don't know what they're doing that get the ultra fast systems...
No offense, of course! You did say this was the first system you've built. lol And all that crap and you're planning on using integrated sound? Sheesh. Go buy an X-fi or three. On credit.
Tips from my last system:
If you've got an SATA system, you might find it helpful to check the bios about 15 times, I don't know if the motherboard manufacturers have cleared up that mess, but it's not hard to pick the wrong combination of controllers. And you're doing RAID...I spent about three months trying to figure out why my hard drive wouldn't boot. Fun.
Also, make sure the board is insulated from the case properly. I learned the hard way...the way which requires that you disassemble the whole system to remount the motherboard with the proper insulation.
Have fun with your great new system...

I would say this new trick is definitely wrong. Get it right next time.
2GB makes a small difference over 1GB...perhaps that is worth it to you. I got 2GB for about $160, from 1GB of PC2100 to 2GB PC3200. Memory is much cheaper than graphics these days, so...if you have less than 1GB and can get more, get some. The less you have, the greater the improvement.
I often load very quickly too, then I struggle with the interface for a few minutes...lol

It's probably padding to exploit padding servers. Probably fun though
One game I was Chinese commander, and we lost the airfield...then got it back, but one of our guns was the U.S. type. It wouldn't fire for me, and I couldn't get the Chinese gun back. I could even repair it if it got damaged.Rexxy40 wrote:
in Wake, whomever owns the AirField owns the Arty at the AirField.......
basically is the US take the Airfield immediately, they not only get 6 Arty's, they stop the other teams commander from getting any points...hehehe and is a great help in then taking the rest of the flags....
Heals are much harder to accomplish than revives, often for the simple reason that the target isn't moving around for revives. A heal...you need a wounded but not "critically" wounded guy, he has to stand and wait for you, you have to disperse medicine, you have to not get shot while doing this.
Exactly. BF2 maps make a crappy infantry game.polarbearz wrote:
Bf2 IS bf2 because its not infantry only
It could be a great infantry game, but it's clearly meant to involve vehicles. If you're in a vehicle, your primary prey is infantry. The vehicles rarely increase the fun for infantry, unless you're...in a helicopter with your squad or some thing like that.
So...a guy would get points to the limit...and then, since he's obviously just playing for points which ideally result from actions which help the team, stops playing unitl the round is out. He got his points.
Is that plausible?
I guess it sorts the players from the padders

It's no wonder people can't hit him, the game was definitely not meant to be used in that manner. It was supposed to simulate human beings in war, not snakes with PKMs and legs.
That tank video is hilarious.

You should not need more than 10 G3 rounds to get a kill at moderate to short range. It's a great weapon. The GLs I find pretty useless since 1.2. Perhaps that's a good thing...

Was who padding? The medic? That's the only person who was being helped, and a discussion on whether the medic planned it or realized you were going to be repeatedly TKed is just academic. Perhaps the person TKing just wanted you dead and did not care about the medic, or maybe they were actually having an impromptu padding session and you didn't recognize it...who knows?
Clips for loading magazines, how confusing. This isn't the first thread about this though. Nice job...
I don't suppose you know what the sets of missles on the helicopters, planes, and AA installations are called? Ooh and let's not forget belt. Or if a belt is in a magazine AKA PKM is it just a magazine? Or would that technically be a drum?

I guess whether it was justified depends on this mysterious nondescript evidence Lin is referring to.
BF2 is stupid, offering no spawn protection at all...so these situations happen all the time.

That reminds me of the time I was in the blackhawk...when a tank shot me out of it, through the glass. The helicopter just kept flying in circles...didn't explode.Viper007Bond wrote:

Now all they need to do is "fix" that 300 and 400 hour expert badge nonsense, like that guy above said. I don't think the medals were really an issue...
The SF medals of course were impossible to get. Who has some now?

The DAO doesn't have a reloading or ammunition problem, but I prefer the Jackhammer because I hate clicking 50 times to kill the enemy.

Hey, you're on the winning team! Again!
No they didn't. Besides, when the US gets hit, it won't be by these middle eastern states. Since we're getting battles in the US now, I want a map where we fight aliens in New York city. Or...do I have to wait for 2142 for that gem? Every one knows we're going to be fighting aliens in the future...and the battle will be in New York city, damn it.Spearhead wrote:

lol@mosquito comment.
The blackhawk used to be fun. Now it is as fun as a transport. Wooo, transport...why am I playing this again?
I agree that the other helicopters should be equal to the blackhawk. That way there's fun no matter which team you are on. And if you just want to play infantry? Stick near AA...in fact, might as well put AA vehicles in maps with the helicopters.
I have to say that playing with vehicles is one of the main reasons this game is unique.

I don't think the F35 is so bad...if you're at normal speed, you can evade missles with the afterburner and manuvering. The F35 really is fast...the thing is, the faster you go, the safer you are from missles. But the slower you go, the easier it is for you to hit and be hit by enemies. I would rather fly an F35 than a bomber if I was trying to stay alive.
I think if you use the extra speed the F35 has, you can escape.
Hovering is one big fat invitation for enemy missles and armor. I guess it's helpful if you're camping?

Miserable game won't record the interesting part, seeing players play.
I have a love hate relationship with this game.
Any way, it looks like it might be an interesting video despite the perspective.

Then it's time for a stunt. Go skydiving. Have the commander (you?) drop a vehicle. Enter the vehicle in the air. Use your floating .50 above that air field.k30dxedle wrote:

I expect the car would plummet if you entered it in mid air, though.
Oops Lobo got there before me. Ah well. Great minds think alike.
I thought the idea was to prevent the guy blocking you from using the plane either, if he was going to prevent you from using it. If he calls your bluff, you're the one who is breaking the rules when you TK him. The idea is that never happens...Viper38 wrote:

Were the 4 suicides worth drawing that attention to yourselves? I imagine the points from holding the flags would be worth more while they camped themselves to defeat.
What gun is that?
In his defense I do think this game has crappy documentation.
Of course, the smaller the server on which the vote is called, the greater chance it will succeed. On a 16 player map you only need 8 votes for a kick, 4 for mutiny. It happens.Roomaster wrote:
has anyone seen a mutiny or kick vote ever work?
Now bothering 32 people on a huge map is very unlikely to happen. Half the people don't care about your problem, and the other half don't know which way they should vote because they "weren't around."

I'm pretty positive I've been offered SF weapons before like Scar-l. I also have been offered flashbangs multiple times, I don't know what happens if you pick it. I thought about getting it last promotion, well surprise, it wasn't offered.badhq wrote:

There's plenty of good ideas here...but there's more badges than unlocks. And EA wants you to pay for the privilege of being able to earn 8 of them. So that's 15 unlocks. Does that sound right?
Next time you are an engineer, take a few minutes to read the anti tank mines. You might have to turn up textures to do it. It's just fascinating.
