We need more guns. I've been using guns since i was about 8. Also some trimming of the gun laws would be good (there is like 20,000 of them...)

*FEMA's guideline state repeatedly that it is not a first responder organization and states should not expect help for 48-96 hours,
*Local authorites ARE the first responder in this situation
*the mostly black police force didn't show up for work, most of them choosing to run off with their families instead of returning to re-establish order in the city even after their families had found shelter
*national guard is the second line of response, initiated by the states governor
* NOAA warned the mayor and governor (both DNC) of the impending danger,
*The levy authorities were all staffed by Dems, mostly black
*Bush made repeated requests to Gov Mary Landreau to declare a state of emergency, as this is the only legal way in the US for a federal takeover of the operations of a state, especially if there is intent to use any element of the US military
*Landreau did not do so until the second day of the flood, after he pulled her sorry ass into his private office on Air Force One and lost a boot in it
*Mayor Nagin ignored the hurricane center's and NOAA advising him to evacuate the city
*he stated afterward that they didnt have the means to since most of the people in the ghettoes didn't own cars, and he became know as "School bus" Nagin after pictures of hundreds of unused buses sitting in flood waters were released
* all the other states in our area were on evac alert, just waiting for the final notice on where landfall would be, this is a decision made by the governor
*I'm at work on a low bandwidth and can't surf much now, but the death toll was nowhere near what was being hyped at the time of the flood, I'll try to post before and afters later, but you can dig on your own b4 i can get to it
*my entire extended family lives in "hurricane alley", from Miami to Louisiana, we know what happens in hurricanes

*the pilgrims were not american
*the KKK was originally an organization formed after the civil war to oppose federalism, it's founder, Nathan Bedford Forrest, disbanded it when it became centered on race instead, it has reformed since and promotes racism
*segregation was enforced by the DNC governors, for those internationals reading, the DNC is the party that opposes Bush
*ethnic cleansing has filled mass graves in Europe in all of our lifetimes, and there are still factions carrying it out today, albeit in a much more limited scope, Milosovec anyone?

I really believe that Al Gore is trying to reinvent himself to prep for another whitehouse bid. He's making headlines now about a noble cause to divert attention away from his lack of record in the senate { unless all the free speech lefties want to consider his one lasting claim to fame which was the Tipper/Gore advisory labels that adorn rap records and video games ), his illegal campaign contributions from the commie red Chinese and brokering of deals to sell top secret computer technology to them.
What Al Gore should realize is that the only reason he came close to becoming potus is because many could not stomach the idea of a 2nd George Bush. It smacked to many on the right as a dynasty that was inheriting the presidency, and that's not right. People should rightly tremble at the idea of Jeb Bush as president because then we would be even closer to a quasi monarchy.
Government as a whole liked George Bush 2 because he is a cash cow, so despite the nonsense things they say about him he got reelected because the Democrats put up a traitorous unelectable buffoon in the likes of John Kerry. If they had been SERIOUS about winning the white house they could have done better than Kerry.
If Al Gore gets nominated again it will be because in the dark inner workings of the DNC they want a Republican elected again. Remember, George Bush has funded more bs, taken us on a even wilder new deal type spending spree than any Democrat in recent memory. He got away with it because he sold himself as a fiscal conservative.

I think it is hard to paint an entire brush on the media. You have to look at each outlet seperately. Some are bias either way. I would say overall though it is mildly to the left.
I also don't think you can paint a news station biased just by its anchors too (the primetime pundits), like say Russert vs O'Rielly each one leans in the other direction.

The previous administration was offered Bin Laden 3 times, this was after his first attempt to bomb the underground parking lot of the WTC. Yet clinton said "we have no reason to imprison him", not to mention the other bombings of embassies, marine barracks, navy vessels. Clinton's administration had created a policy wherein our intelligence agencies could not openly share information with each other, the CIA, FBI, and NSA all had pieces but were unable to put them together due to a memo signed by Clinton staffer Jamie Garelik (sp?). You may remember her as being one of the DNC chairs of the 9-11 commitee trying to grill Rice on how it happened, when Rice brought up Garelik's policy she shut up. The Bush admin saw this problem and was attempting to change this, meeting with the director of the FBI more in one year than Clinton had in both his terms, unfortunately bureaucracy makes everything slow. Now here is the inherent hypocrisy of most liberal anti-Bush arguments, he waits 'til we get hit to do something, it's his fault he should have prevented it. He takes a preventive stance against a dictator (Hussein) already in violation of a surrender agreement and constantly threatening the US, it's allies, and their interests and he overstepped his bounds. I personally disagree with his spending habits, and perhaps some of his immigration policies, but in the broad scope of things this in no way means he is doing a bad job. No one candidate is ever going to be all perfect all the time.BN wrote:

For America to build up a good name, you need to have decent people exposed more than the ones you currently have representing your country. People don't realise that once you communicate publicly with others from different nationalities, you immediately become basically an ambassador to your country, and opinions of your county will in most cases be directly affected by how you act.

What lies?
Picking on Iraq? What for breaking the cease fire (mind you the war in 1991 never ended, its a 15 year war), he broke UN resolutions plenty of times, funded terrorists, raped/tortured/executed his own people, estimates from 300,000-3,000,000 (if you include the Iran/Iraq War), he used chemical weapons on Iran and the Kurds.
Oil? I hear that so often, what proof is there? We haven't taken a single drop of oil, it is Iraq's oil, it is basically the lifeblood of their economy. We have taken NONE of it.
Not to mention the progress that has gone on since the invasion, sure there is that pesky insurgency (for the most part foriegn fighters (with some rejectionists/saddamists thrown in) so it isn't Iraqis rebelling againest us like many would have you to believe. (also the insurgency is failing: http://www.mnf-iraq.com/feature/May/060509a.htm ). The Abrams tank uses a similar ceramic armor just like the Challenger. In the Abrams there is also a layer of depleted uranium, a layer of kevlar, and a layer of steel. I'm not totally knowlegable on the Abrams target acqusition system, but they both sound extremely similar.scouseclarky wrote:
thats a bit wrong the m1a2 is good but in a tank on tank battle the challenger2 would win . thanks to it's 2 special ability's. 1) the chubbm Armour it is fitted with. in Iraq at the beginning in Basra a challenger lost its track then it was attacked by insurgents, for 12 hours it was pounder with rpg's a total of 19 times and hit with a anti tank missile 1 they recovered the crew and tank and it was operational the next day no lives were lost. i say this is impressive. (2) the tog or target optical gunnery system, it allows the commander to select a target the turret the automatically traverses and lays the gun on target so the gunner can shoot while he is doing this the commander searches for his next target when the first target is destroyed the gun automatically traverses on 2 the next designated target and the process starts again. this means that in the time it takes an enemy gunner to move the turret the challenger 2 has already acquired the target the gunner has probably fired and the next target has been selected.silentsin wrote:

ooh yeah i almost forgot in the first gulf was the challenger 1 entered the record books by making the longest tank on tank kill ever recorded at a distance of 2.1 miles the shell was in the air for 3 seconds before destroying the enemy tank

I don't think it would be the largest economy, it would be just about even with the US. I highly doubt the largest military part. Many European nations seem to spend more on social stuff than defense. Also Europes economy is not fast growing, it is lower than that of the US. Kyoto is going to have a negative effect also on many European nations trying to implement it, at a lost of jobs and GDP going down.
It would be nice to see a more United Europe, but I just don't see it happening anytime soon. Even it if it was united, it wouldn't really be any better economically or militarily, Europe would probably have a better economy with less socialism imo.
