Trying to play buy currently get kicked for "PB init failure" every time. Any ideas?

Oh and I have manually updated.

M83's pretty good, other than that I don't know much.

I do quite like antennas to heaven... but you have to put so much effort into paying attention to the songs that I can never really be bothered...too long for my poor attention span...

As for the flaming lips yes I do think they deserve to be up there, I think I would definitely put them in a top 20 of bands of the decade. However the only one of their albums I know really well is  at war with the mystics; still havn't given yoshimi or embryonic a proper listen.

I havn't really taken into account the importance of any of these albums, just how much I like them. In a vague order....

The Seldom Seen Kid is a solid album. Not Elbow's best, but still like it. 8/10

Yes both hudmo and flylo I have given ALOT of time to... especially mr. lotus. Discovered Los Angeles this year. As I am reading this I am, coincidentally, listening to wisp for the first time ^^

Grizzly Bear's Yellow House is one of my favourite albums of the decade, leave em alone.

I don't like merriweather post pavillion as much as I do either fall be kind or strawberry jam; it's good that they've finally made the mainstream, but it's a shame they made it on the album they did... although as I said fall be kind gives me hope

Raekwon's I haven't given a full listen to as I only just got hold of it.

I think the most interesting thing indie-wise this year was its push on the new moon soundtrack... soon to be fully mainstream?

Awaiting both four tet's new album and something by Joy orbison the most atm, as well as Jonsi's solo album, his solo ambient stuff is amazing.

But you clearely know your stuff, I think I've lurked your lastfm page before actually... any particular albums to check out would be great.

For me, Bibio's ambivalence avenue, passion pit's manners, Patrick Watson's wooden arms are some of the best.

Four Tet - Hands

Oh hi.

Need to get a new motherboard because the old one has failed out on me, and have basically no idea what I'm doing. I did have Abit's IP35 Pro but it has failed on me, and am looking to either buy this again, or go for something which has the neccessary holes in it so everything will work.

The PC has something along the lines of this:

An 8800GTX
4 Gigs of DDR2
1 SATA 500gig HD
1 DVD RW drive
A Q6600
Some other scary things I can't remember right now cause it's not next to me.

Budget of around 100 quid, fair bit of leeway though.

Help a retard today.

Well I have same bug: trying to connect to a server and it does the kinda thing it would when you are banned/server full ect. without the message itself. However I am able to join empty ranked and unranked games and create my own... i just can't join any that have people in them. Tried PB update, same thing.... any ideas?

If you're on vista try googling internet 60 second timeout and there's some programs that may help you.

If you're not on Vista you may have the same problem as me.

Every time I join a game (only on bf2, other net games fine) at random moments throughout the game (usually every 1-2 mins) I get 'problem with connection' for 5-10 seconds and then back to normal play. Only started quite recently, no idea why, haven't changed isps and as I said, only in bf2.

Any ideas?

Try setting compatability on the actual ventrilo file, and not the shortcut.....

Go to C:\Program Files\Ventrilo\, right click on Ventrilo.exe, Compatability-> and change it there.

I have had this problem for a while now, but am now so fed up with it that I thought I might as well ask around to see if anyone has any ideas to fix it.

Basically using 'push to talk' in bf2 does not work.
Ever since I got my new PC, and Vista, this has been the case.
It works on all other games that I know of (TF2, COD4 ect.), except bf2/2142.
I have tried other buttons for my PTT, to no avail.
Voice activation does work, but badly because of my mic and another unrelated problem I have with everyone hearing what I hear when I speak(e.g. whatever music I am listening to).

Thanks for any ideas.

Don't turn a game into a job. If you play it in the aim of making money you will not enjoy it and the money you get out of it will likely be less than if you had worked in a shop for the same amount of time, maybe even less.

Beirut are fantastic, I can recommend either of their albums equally.... also well worth checking out elephant gun if you like it.. not on either album but an incredible song.

Got it yesterday.... Having great fun especially the first two stages which were very innovative.. tribal rang of rts but still makes a nice change. Just starting civ now.

Thing is I dont get bsod or anything... it stays on the game screen....

I think drivers are ok, but the ram thing sounds interesting especially as someone else mentioned that to me.... how I do memtest?

Been doing this for a while now.... I load up tf2 or most recently dod:s and without fail when I click on find servers my entire pc crashes, I get the music repeating and I can't move my mouse or do anything. This so far has only occurred in these games, it has not occurred in bf2 or cod4.

medic tips:

1 bullet from an ak101 to the head kills: if someone's prone at a reasonable distance, odds are you have a better chance of killing them by single-shotting them than spraying madly.

The m16s bursts can be fired extremely quickly, however it is all about timing. Try to follow your next click immediately after the first burst has ended, rather than clicking madly.

The m16 loses accuracy within about three bursts. If you are close range, this is fine. However at long distance, take your time and pick your shots.

when capping a flag with (preferably) more than one sane person, and they are nading you, get some medic bags, put your head (prone with your head facing a wall) in a wall and wait. If medic bags are around you, it is extremely hard for anyone to kill you with nades, as protecting your head reduces the power of the nade.

If you run out of main gun bullets in a 1 on 1/ 2 on 2, and it is a very closed and close area, switch to knife. It is open and distant, switch to pistol.

The pistol is ridiculously accurate when zoomed, never forget this.

Don't forget that if you need more ammo on the middle of a firefight, you can always pick up another one.

Remember it's only a game: It was made to be fun, so if you're not having fun and just getting angry why are you playing.

Got banned of that candy server back in easter while I was at I33. I was talking to some guys and going round with the shotgun.. then when the round ended so I left the pc for a bit and went to talk to some guys behind me .. came back 10 mins later and I was banned. However using my incredible skills of diplomacy I managed to get unbanned from it.
It's a mini adventure.
