She spends way too much time attacking video games for my tastes.

Its not so much the pilot as it is the J-10. Not only is it the most agile plane in the game by far, its also by far the most difficult one to hit with a missile. It took me 12 shots to finally have a seeker connect with it; all the others either refused to give chase or slid off of the tail, (I was firing one shot at a time too, but flying of the carrier to reload to get a total of 12 shots in). Its not just that map either. Any map with the US on a carrier typically has that happen.
Why in the world the JBird has been allowed to go on like this is beyond me.

Demonology, Cryptozoology, Parapsychology... all favorite studies of mine. I dont really believe that the Loch Ness monster exists, but I think its more than possible that some prehistoric marine animals are out there. Just not in that Loch. Ghosts- yes. Aliens- yes. And out of all the cryptids, (unproven creatures), Id say that the Bigfoot/yeti/yeren are most likely to truly exist. Theyve already found DNA evidence in China and Napal that an unknown species of ape is out there.
So I log in under the new 1.21, and Im shocked to see a Majors insignia where my Gunny Sgt one should be. I look down and I have NO awards, NO information regarding enlistment date, kills, teams points, commander time, rank... NOTHING, except a very high global score of over 268 Million.
G36E. But if I had things my way, Id have a MP5-10mm. Accurate at close range, and hits harder than practically any submachinegun out there.
Pretty Much. All theyd need to do though, is increase the rate of fire to its RL speed of 900 rpm, vs the 600 or so its pushing now, and it would be quite nice.AuSFinN wrote:

Im thinking not, but I know that a lot of people would like some unlockable side arms. Who wouldnt want a Beretta 93R or HK Mk23 over the M92 or the likes.
I dont have a problem with it; neither do I have/had issues with bunny hoppers or noob tubers. They can be a pain, yes, but you have the same potential to do the same to them.
That said, I wouldnt doubt that EA would somehow kill this tactic. Theyre doing the exact same thing to this game that most MMOs experience: removing human ingenuity. People are always looking for easier, more effective ways of doing things, but when that occurs in games, they call it exploiting. Thus, the few that complain because they are unable to adapt, get their way, as the developers begin to fight and resist the gamers attempts to devise such techniques... the exact opposite of nature.

Im not trying to be disrespectful, but, who cares? Its Portman and SNL...
MAD TV pwns them both.

Id say this is a pretty good guide, for the basics. Though Ive never heard of holding your breath before taking the shot... not outside reality. Even then though, I says its crap. They tell you to breath in, let half the breath out and fire. Good markmen develope their own posture and habits to control their aim under many conditions, to the point it becomes instinct. I think the same applies to games that try to resemble reality to a certain extent; theres comes a point where you are in such harmony with your skills and weapon that you know if that bullet is going to strike the target the moment you set off the charge, before the round even is halfway down range.
Im not saying its impossible to create something like that, (if you even played Delta Force 2 you probably encountered more than a few hacks of that manner or worse; levitating auto nades and the likes), but that certainly seems to be a hoax. The way the people were acting is the same way that the AI acts; something Ive never seen in a multiplayer game. They stack up on each other, charge down the street fearlessly lobbing grenades at oncoming armor; no attempts at taking cover; and notice in the 2nd to last clip where the man runs right past this guy to get in the tank, takes the machine gun on top, and then completely ignores the player... ever seen another player do that? Especially when hes got a knife out and standing still in open ground?
No hacker in the right mind would ever attempt that these days. Its impractical, very obvious and easy to incriminate, and above all just stupid. It makes for a fun Single Player game... to some degree... but not nearly subtle enough to satisfy a die hard hacker. Not to mention PB.

Grizzly would win. Now for a more difficult question...
Who would win?
A. Grizzly Bear
B. Chuck Norris

I think anti tank needs something... maybe make rockets more powerful? I just dont like the fact that youve only got a handful of rockets and it takes 3-4 to knock out a tank, and you only get 2 points for that... Theres just very little insentive to be one unless you either purely enjoy the class, or you have a tank sitting in your backyard that you need to get rid of, and it only does that with mediocre results.
Taking out tanks suck, but Choppers can be quite fun. Nothing yells pwnage like blowing out the passengers of the blackhawk on Mastuur with a well placed rocket.

Marine Corp. FTW.
No Nova Trooper in the list? Shame... well, I bet there would be people crying "nerf" anyhow. I hope the Storm Commando has the all black scout armor like SWG, (before the devs trashed it), but thats another thread.
So Im sitting here, listening to yahoo music, (because Im a cheap *&#$@!^), doing my late night troll of the forums, as usual, and a really good song comes up. I had never heard it before, and didnt even take the time to take a look at the title, artist, or even if it was top 100... I just tacked a 3/4 star on it so that it would revert to "My Videos". The song that follows really sux, so I kill the player and find another one I want to hear. About 5 mins later Im getting a real craving to here that song again, and go back to check... its not there in my video list. Upon further inspection, its also not under my "Recently Played" section, yet every other song is.
Lets see... Im not on drugs, I know what I heard. Was I dreaming? Its about to drive me nuts, and Ive been searching for the last half an hour out of pure determination, and have gone through about a dozen titles several times over.
Who else has had something like this happen lately? Lose something, maybe, and spent the next hour or two searching for it, only to find it upon impulse or fate a week later?

Excited now, holding on for dear life later. Have fun at the Snipers Academy. I dont envy you there.
If I ever were to attempt the military, it would be Marines... but until WW3 breaks out, you can find me right here in the relative safety of my own bedroom, (or likewise). Killing in reality just isnt as glorious as games and historians make it out to be... you dont even get your own orchestra to play dramatic music in the background .
Darn, I just ruining the serious tone of that post.

Good gosh no man, push him toward the front of the ranks. He'll either make a great distraction or break the ememy's morale in whole. Just imagine the look on the enemies faces when they look up and see him being shoved out of the side of a Blackhawk.
Fair. WAY too many bugs; PKM pwns too much; I miss the action of the last patch, though I can live with the changes.
Congrats. Badges are always fun. The trick with the pistol is to put a few rounds in them with another weapon, and then finish them off with the handgun.
And you thought it was embarassing to get stuck from behind with the knife...
FEAR and Soldier of Fortune 2 for gore like that. Rumor is that SOF3 is in the works, but thats another story. In fact, before patch 1.2 there was a sense of nostalgia about jumping over a crate or sandbag pile and plowing someone over with a shotgun that brought back good ol days from SOF.
Either way, its all about the $$$, and we all know that EA loves that factor. Heck, just look at all the expansions they shove out. Its the same tactic used by most MMO-monthly fee games, the "T" rating means you get a good asortment of content without pushing the kiddies aside.
If you want another reason that involves something besides finance, then think of it this way: it would be impractical to try and revive someone with the shock paddles when their had has been nearly completely removed by a .308 round .

Seen or done something thats made you about fall out of your chair? Share the experience .
I had a moment the other night involving a shock paddle/knife incident in Mashtuur the other night. I had just gotten my basic knife badge and realized that I still had 150 points to kill. I realized I had never killed with the paddles before, so I took the melee to the next level.
I started out by chasing down a sniper and giving him a buzz. Then I spawned at the center of the map which had been freshly captured and spawned in the hotel accross the street. Inside I found a medic and a sniper that didnt realize I was behind them. I shocked the medic and the sniper just turned and stared in disbelief as I recharged and nailed him to the wall. Well, appearently several of the people I killed had a sense of humor too and I find the "Backyard" breaking into a brawl. First everything seemed okay, but then I had one of my team mates run past me with a enemy knifer right on his tail, too emersed in the chase to realize I had my back to him and didnt realize what was happening. Anyone that didnt have a knife of the defibs out soon either drew them, or took off from the rest of us- too shocked to return fire.
Just a fun, unscripted skirmish I found worth mention.
On the to-do list: Sneak up behind an enemy commander, start conversation to get his attention and then "Hey... turn around" 'Clear!' *buzz

IF, and I do mean IF, this were to be some conspiracy- its a lot more than just an unjust reason for war. It seems pretty obvious that many of the worlds major governments, corperations, and agencies have their fair share of dirty little secrets, conspiracies, ect. but it makes me sick to the stomach just to imagine one on this scale.xX[Elangbam]Xx wrote:
you guys didn't even watch the video. fact is, if it was staged then we're following an unjust cause in this war
On a less serious note, it sounds like something the Empire would do out of Star Wars.
I think they changed it for the two new weapons. I was PFC when they were introduced, and Ive had two unlocks ever sense Lance Corperal. I know it used to be Serg, but I think they filled the spots for L96 and P90.
I usually move with the squad, pretty much using the rest of the team to draw out and occupy the enemy and then dealing out a head shot. On certain maps though, Ill go out on my own as an intimidation factor, usually behind enemy lines, acting as the bird dog and flushing out covered targets.
F-16 Falcon is my pick.
I remember game raters raving over how BF1942 was such a new and revolutionary idea... clearly they never played OFP. In BF you can start a battle, but in OFP- a war. Although I think '42 got the multiplayer part better, I found Flash to be far more memorable... and with the custom battles and such on the huge maps... hotness.asbad wrote:

Spawn camped by armor/artillery. Arty sux BAD, but Ive had enough bad encounters with tanks at spawn points to make me sick. My most recent encounter was will a tank that had at least 2 engineers working behind it. Took me and another guy 8 anti-armor rockets fired in instant repeatition to blow it appart while it was camping the spawn.
The good thing about spawn camping: its a reversable tactic, just like any weapon, and it can be used against its former masters . Make the home team wish they never put "Spawn Camping IS allowed, no matter what." in their list of rules.

Weekly World News has the best cover stories... PERIOD
What would they be? Please be specific and reasonable, (Damage, accuracy, rate of fire, sight type, ect.). Just for creativities sake, I want to see what you people would like to have in the game. Also, please list the genre you would place it in, (Sniper, Support, Assault, ect.)
Marlin .22 Magnum Bolt Action, H&R Single-Shot .410, Tanfoglio TZ-75 M88 9mm, Benelli Nova 12gauge 3 1/2inch, Martini-Henry Zulu War Era (antique, but still retaining firing mechanisms).
The TZ-75 is a CZ-75 clone; it and the H&R are dual finish. The Tanfoglio has a blued upper slide and "Wonder Finish", (similar to nickel) frame with walnut grips. The H&R has a nickel reciever and blued barrel with blackened wood stock and fore-end. The Benelli is all black/blued with 28" barrel. The Marlin is stainless with synthetic stock.
I really wanted a 10mm instead of the 9mm, but a 9 with the right ammo can be pretty potent in its own rights. I know its not the most powerful thing in the world, but I dont know a single 9 critic that will willingly stand infront of me and let me double tap'em in the chest

I listen to most anything, and in sharp contrast at that. Metal to Punk to New Age and Electronic. Korn to Enya.
Bat Country to Helena. Country is probably my very least favorite, though I can go for some Blue Grass here and there.
I prefer my music mostly upbeat and mostly decipherable, so I normally dont do death/heavy metal, (though "Her Portrait in Black" from Atreyu isnt bad ).

Ive shot quite a few weapons before, and I disagree with the statement that this game is all about realism. Ive gotten shot before, (In Game), from about 20 feet away and didnt hear the rifle go off. Theyre trying to blend real life aspects such as accuracy with arcade features, such as taking six .223 rounds to the chest/back. Although its possible to survive such a pounding, I seriously doubt youd be able to move.
As far as the scope comment goes: Yep, you can maintain your sighting on most bolt actions while in operating the bolt, (but thats a matter of cartridge length and the models individual bolt draw), but if they wanted to make it 100% accurate to real life... we would be in for some major trouble. The slightest inconsistancy of movement between the head and arms while looking down the scope would cause you to lose your sighting; weather effects such as heat, cold, and wind would cause the bullets path to be less than straight; you would also actually suffer the true damage and felt recoil/shock of the weapons.
Although I have absolutely no problem with realistic shooters, (I actually prefer them), thats a long leap from what EA has going now. And as the latest patch shows, making such great bounds in a single publish can be very chaotic as far as player satisfaction goes.
If there was one thing Id like to see enter the game, its realistic recoil and shock effects. Id rather fight the kick of an assault rifle with my mouse than to be subject to the games translation of its accuracy in auto. That and it would be cool to see your screan knock back and to have your screen blur and grass ripple from the shockwave when you let a round loose from the M95.

Actually, the P90 is superior on most fronts. On single shot, its as accurate as a M4 Carbine, just with a shorter effective range, and on full auto it can pull 900 rpm, (300 more than ingame). The SS190 5.7X28 travels at just over 2300 feet per second and is capable of penetrating level 2 body armor, or level 3A if it doesnt impact the protective plating. Although the bullet is small and fairly slow, its designed to tumble, and will do so after going through about two inches of soft tissue.
To sum it up, its armor piercing, does as much damage as a hollow point even after going through the armor and is very accurate out to 200 meters while in semi-auto. In full auto, it fires fast enough that its almost impossible to squeeze off a single round. Its small design allows it to be very quick to shoulder and aim.
If not for balance purposes, the FN P90 would PWN the game.

Lol. That was less of a dolphin dive, more of an ingame version of the worm. Skeelz. Pure Skeelz!
Im with Kinetic on this one. Some admins are less than just in their methods, if I may say so myself. Im no fan of dying by noob tubes or clays, but I am just as capable of doing it to someone else, as they are of doing it to me. Whats fair is fair and it would seem that if thats the only reason you were banned, then it was anything but.
Thank goodness on the AT rockets note. I had 2 out of 7 do that using the same kit today.
Ive had that happen too me as well... I was beginning to think it was some freakish lag issue, but this video makes me think otherwise. Ive had them rockets go straight through tanks and not impact.
Things a Colonel now according to the records. I dont know exactly who it is now, but I can tell you it really isnt worth going for.
Youll probably need to search the records of BFHQ for that info. Let me see if I can take a quick look and see who it is ATM.
Sergeant Major of the Corps, just like in reality, is only awarded to ONE person at a time. That probably means you have to be the best of the best of the rank just below it. It says that you cant get it from points or awards, so that probably means your accuracty, friendly fire, teamwork... whatever will determine who will get it.
Actually Erwin, I have killed someone with a flashbang before. Im guessing that the guy only had a few bars left and the thing landed right at his feet. I didnt have the presence of mind to take a screenie, because those things really can mess you up in RL if they go off too close. But a smoke? Heh. Now thats impressive.
Same here, G36E. I actually prefer the iron sights. I cant stand scopes on anything but the longest ranged of rifles. As far as those sights are conserned though, I think theres a problem in them. The bullet is supposed to hit right ontop of the front bar, but it seems to be shooting lower. When placing the forsight on the forehead of a target, the bullets landing at the chin or upper throat between 20-50 meters. Anyone else noticing this?
Ive only used the L96 once, (because I didnt get the free unlocks like everyone else and have to pick it up), but the one time I did get it, I didnt get a good test of it. I ended up pulling a near point bland shot on Karkand. The reviews suggest that its a slightly better version of the M24, which I hope so. The M24 is a honey of a rifle.
As for the new patch, I really dont like some of the changes. I think the worst of which is the inability to throw things while jumping. I used to love tossing medi-packs to high ground support on top of buildings and getting some added distance on the few frags I used by throwing while in mid air.

Some games Im willing to bet that trees are responsible for more aerial deaths than anti/counter aircraft measures. Your not an endowed pilot until youve had a "George of the Jungle" moment.
What im really waiting to see is someone do what you did, except to another player.
