I have been seeing my name pop up as being killed, but I'm not even wounded. Happened three times this weekend. Has anyone else been seeing this?

Ran into this glitch today on Karkand. Two little punks in the building across from the hotel. We vote kicked them out of the server. Unfortunately no admins were on to ban them.

We'll see if he really holds him accountable. I'm not sure that Dean really has the power to hold anyone accountable. His role is fund raiser in chief for the DNC. He might have the authority not to dole out money to Reid, but that is about it.Ikarti wrote:

While I'm agnostic, I do find it interesting that so many cultures across the world came to believe in a "god". What are the odds that people from every continent would all come to believe not only in a higher existence, but some type of life after death? Granted, many of these religions life after death was only for the rulers or powerful...but there was life after death.

Indeed, Paul Mueller received the 1948 Nobel Peace prize for his discovery of DDT's ability to kill insects. However, it is well established that DDT (as all chlorinated hydrocarbons) is a persistent chemical. It does not break down with water, but does dissolve in oils and fats. For this reason, it accumulates in the food chain.
There is no question that in the short term DDT saves lives through the suppression of disease carrying mosquitoes (malaria, dengue fever, yellow fever and west nile (which I have personally had)). The long term effects of this class of chemical cannot be so easily dismissed, however. It does accumulate in fatty tissues and gets concentrated as it moves up the food chain. We are at the top of the food chain and eventually the impact would be felt by humans. At that point, however, it would be pervasive in the environment and we don't have a remedy for it.
On a sidebar issue, evolution. Evolution is a theory only. Adaptation is a fact. To prove scientifically, a theory must be observable and repeatable. Evolution is neither of these. There are many, many changes that can be observed in the human genome and they are usually fatal and to my knowlede always deterimental. Even with miniscule changes such as microdeletion in the 15th chromosome (Prader-Willy Syndrome) or more substantial changes such as trisomy 21 (Down's Syndrome), the outcome is not good. To compound this, both a male and female would need to experience the same mutation, find each other and mate for it to pass to the next generation. Finally, if we look at the mapping of the chimpanzee genome (the closest relative to humans), a recent study found mre than 98 percent of the DNA on chimp chromosome 22 is present on human chromosome 21. There are 68,000 stretches of DNA difference between human and chimpanzee genomes. We know that one microdeletion causes severe problems. No one can explain how an entire genetic code migrated to a different chromosome to create a new species. This is the problem with evolution. Before anyone flames me as a religious nut, I am agnostic and received my degree in biology. I just question the theory.

This is a ridiculous question. If they are here legally and are American citizens they stay. Many of the American muslims are voices of reason against the waves of radicalism espoused in the mideast. They denounce the hijacking of that religion by fanatics. More power to them.
Again, I don't know. I have not been in the military. I don't know what type of testing they do or how often they do it. I'm sure there are physicals of some sort. Just don't know what is involved or how often.

Probably not. I don't believe you give up all of your privacy rights by joining. They may test you, but that would only to determine if you are fit at the time of enlistment. Perhaps someone who is in the military now, can answer this.
Back to the issue of whether the Iraq War was illegal. This issue goes back to the founding fathers. We have been involve in many many conflicts, however, there have been few Declarations of War. On May 20, 1801, Thomas Jefferson sent ships to the Meditteranean to protect American shipping interests. During this engagement, a Tripolitan cruiser was seized and disarmed. Hamilton wrote to congress expressing the belief that since the U.S. did not start the conflict, they were not in a state of war and no Declaration was necessary.
In the history of the United States, War has been declared exactly 5 times (War of 1812, Mexican American War, Spanish American War, World War I and World War II). It was not until the Vietnam War that congress tried to reign in the power of the executive through the War Powers Act.
In the current Iraq War, congress did authorize the use of military force against Iraq. Given the history of "declaring war", this would be adequate under every administration going back to Jefferson. To now say it is illegal is absurd.

There are those that have a belief that homosexuality is not natural. That does not make them homophobes. I don't see that belief as a fear of homosexuals. Personally, if it isn't manufactured it's natural. I don't subscribe to the theory that this is a learned behavior, but rather is controlled physically (probably genetic). Last year a very good friend of mine died from AIDS. We'd known each other since elementary school and he "came out" while we were in college. This is a population that has a significantly higher rate of this disease. If I knew there were gays in my unit, and they were seriously wounded, there would be a pause factor to assist. Not because they're gay, but because of self-preservation. If we say that it is OK for gays in the military and no one has a right to know who they are, this pause factor could and would extend to everyone in your unit. I have not been in battle. Hope I or my family never have to. But from what friends have said, there isn't time to pause. If you pause you die.
It appears in this thread that if a person espouses the opinion that gays should not be in the military, the response is a personal attack against the individual. You all may disagree with the opinion, but to automatically label the writer as homophobe, bigot or whatever does nothing to support your argument. Just my observation.
Eliminate the incentives to have children...populalist welfare. Eliminate the deduction for children. Eliminate welfare. Then we'll see where all the people screaming freedom to breed say. Fine, if you can support them, pop em out. If not, well then you have a problem. We don't.
I've seen reprts, too tired now to find them, that show a very strong correlation between mean age and violent crime. As the population ages, the violent cirme decreases. Guess the walkers get in the way of car jacking.
The statements in 1998 are two years before Bush took office. It would have been incumbent upon Clinton's people to provide that information to Bush's people. You don't really expect the new administration to re-evaluate all intelligence data for two years prior to their taking office?Clinton was 8 years at the office indeed, but the statements in the video are from 1998 and Bush invaded Iraq in 2003, he had 5 additional years of CIA reports.
You can't invade a country coz you think they could have WMD's, you must be sure they have them. If you go there coz of WMD's and then you find there is no WMD's how do you explain this to the people.
There is no question that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction. That is not even a debatable claim. He had them and he used them both against his own citizens and in the war against Iran. Did he rebuild the weapons and/or capacity after Bush 41 set him back? The intelligence agencies (U.S., British and Russian) believed he did. Based on his record of having weapons and using weapons along with the belief, admittedly presumption, was it wrong to attack Iraq before they attacked us? It is easy to be 100% right when you Monday morning quarterback. However, these same people that are bemoaning the fact that we attacked Iraq would be calling for Bushes impeachment if there had actually been one. Look at the claims from the 911 attacks. Just imagine, no truly imagine....if there had been attacks 100 x what happened in New York.
Personally, there was a basis, IMO, to attack Iraq. They invaded Kuwait and as part of an agreement not be have their country torn apart by the coalition, Iraq agreed to completely open and unfettered inspections of all their facilities. Sort of a probation for invading their neighbor. When they kicked out the inspectors, to no consequence by the U.N., they violated probation. That act alone, justified the overthrow of the Hussein regime.

Of course we will never know exactly what Clinton knew or didn't know about terrorists thanks to his good buddy Sandy Berger stealing top secret terrorism documents from the National Archives. Oh, my mistake, he accidently took them and accidently threw them away. How convenient.
The title of this post is wrong and misleading. Using the same poll data (for what it's worth), only 35 % want the U.S. to withdraw within 6 months. The "vast majority" want the U.S. to stay longer than 6 months. I would not consider that "immediately".

Shipbuilder likes to use graphs to show how miserly the U.S. is in giving to other countries as a percent of their GDP. Let's take a look at comparing how some of these other countries citizens are doing compared to us. WHERE WE STAND, by Michael Wolff, Peter Rutten, Albert Bayers III, and the World Rank Research Team (New York: Bantam Books, 1992). 1991 statistics.

I for one am quite satisfied that our level of giving is not too high. The money that is being given ultimately comes out of our pockets, since the government does not produce anything. The numbers above show that relative to many of the countries cited as shining examples earlier, our standard of living lags. Until and if that is corrected, I am not inclined to want to give more.

I don't know about centuries. The U.S. is only 230 years old, and a very good part of that time was being settled by Europeans. I don't know that there was a whole lot of policing going on at that time.DesertFox423 wrote:

With all the problems since the original release, EA leaves me no choice but to look for alternatives. Hopefully, Quake Wars will be such an alternative and I can vote on EA's lack of skill with my pocketbook.
I guess an alternative to someone trying to avoid your fire; would be for everyone to form lines, march toward each other and fire (e.g., American Revolution). Sounds like a load of fun don't ya think? Never any problem with bunny hopper/dolphin divers from this quarter either.
Use VOIP if it is available. Seems like people will listen more if you talk to them and not just use the computer generated messages.
Forgive all except intentional TK's. If we are in a melee and someone accidently kills me...no problem. I just wish others had the same attitude.
Look at his combat score and commander score. They make up his total Global score. Normally, the Global Score will add Teamwork + Commander + Combat - TK's, TD...etc. His Teamwork score is eliminated by the number of TK's.Lengoron wrote:
I don't doubt that, but how can you tell, what's the formula or whatever?PHPR Hunter wrote:

Only unfortunately goes that as in the reality and will not believe that the =K.W.A = serve the only is. And no calves with elephants will compare SUC6

Thanks for the heads up on one to avoid. It sounds like you are not the only one to have problems with that server.
LOL....great video in the signature.
Just glad when I can get an honest game in anymore. I don't know for sure who was hacking, or if they were dropping boxes, but they were lighting it up with artillery. Every 5-10 seconds a new artillery barrage.
Is there a hack or glitch out there that allows the commander to call arty every 5 seconds? I was playing EA US P4v today and their commander was calling arty, one strike after another.
