No, plain and simple. I for one would not like to go into a battle and have some guy gay by my side. I could only wonder what pranks would be pulled within the Armed forces, it would be like the army navy game, only gay vs straight.
The main query with letting Gays in the armed forces was the ridiculous theory that the Gay soldiers would be too busy eye-ing up the other guys and not pay attention to the war. However, this 'fear' is now voided by the fact that women are now in the armed forces.
As a side note, I had a Gay friend go on a shool trip to the Battlefields of Europe with me, (about 44 other people went too.) He led the Haka, (traditional Maori war dance, if you care there's a topic on the Haka in the debate and serious talk section,) so I can tell you there's no worry about Gay men not being masculine enough to fight in a war.
It proves how mature a division of the armed forces truly is if they are sensible enough to let gay men in. Our armed forces simply sees it as a non-issue. No problems so far.

gay men shouldnt cuase its strange
Here's an interesting story on the topic. Also funny as hell.
I don't think the US Army is in any position right now to turn away people that want to fight for our country.
But if he were a good soldier, I guess I wouldn't really care.

Yes. Just keep how you like your sex to yourself. If you can shoot straight, you're in.
The varied opinions we see already in this post is the exact reason why "don't ask, don't tell" is a good policy.

No just worried it would cause some other crazy rivalries inside the US military, as if Army Navy isn't bad enough.Ikarti wrote:

I don't see why not. There are several armies that have openly gay members that have very high combat effectiveness (the Israeli Defense Force and the British Army come to mind).
In reality there is nothing that stops gays from serving in any military. There are thousands of gays in the US military (and thousands that have served), they just aren't/can't be open about their sexuality.

Discrimination because of sexual orientation is wrong.
Except gay men should not be allowed around children imop.

dammit, i pontificated on this for 15 minutes on the old thread, only to have it closed while i wrote it
Gays should be deported to an isolated island away from everyone.
"you know life is what we make it, and a chance is like a picture, it'd be nice if you just take it"
And you should go with them. FABULOUS!d4rkst4r wrote:

They should be let in like everyone else. But if they are open about it there is a danger to them being assaulted by others, such as in past cases. Simple put Don’t ask don’t tell and you should be fine in the Military.

hey, if i'm in a foxhole with some other guy covering my ass, i want him to want to cover my ass because its gorgous, and only a gay man can do that for you.Miller wrote:

I disagree. There's also the risk that non-homosexuals might be uncomfortable and fight less effectively. Having said that, any sort of discrimination will only prolong these effects.Ty wrote:

Or you could bring those who assault them to justice. No, that wouldn't work. Since when has the law ever helped anyone? Oh, I know, give them guns so they can defend themselves........only their attackers have guns too..........uh............maybe a nuclear device?N.A.T.O wrote:

I think he means they should not be allowed to adopt children. Have to agree with him there, i don't think it's natural. This species has survived with a mom and dad raising children and teaching them about the birds & bes. Not 2 moms or 2 dads. Yes i know, one of them might die and you might be left with either a mom or a dad, still not the same as 2 moms or 2 dads. What do gay parents teach there kids about sex, anal sex is natural?Bubbalo wrote:

Dad and dad expressing love in front of there child? Sorry i'm all for gay marriage but having kids, nope. There relationship should come with some sacrifice, we get kids, they get to share closets
If they are willing to fight and die for there country I've got no prob with it. But if they try anything... well the government issued me a gun.
A gun is just a phallic symbol anyway.
As long as person can pass the entrance requirements just like anyone else, who gives a shit? Might as well be talking about what their favourite colour is instead of sexual preference.
As long as it does not interfere with duty, they need to have the same attention to detail and high resolve to be a part of any respectable armed service. It doesn't matter what sex they prefer to bam, it only matters their personal character in relation service.
When bullets are flying at me I like to think about how sexy the man next to me is instead of how I can survive......../sarcasm off. Seriously, just because someone is gay doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to serve. If anyone is dangerous its the folks who would resort to violence against your own country because of who they choose to love.
soo you guys really think there are no gay ppl in the armed forces already? Kinda like no gays play hockey...or soccer....or basket?
I've got to ask: why are people afraid of gay people? why do people treat gay folks like its a virus?
what do regular people do when they get hit on by some ugly ass chick (like the one in the guy or girl post) ?
if u´r in the foxhole and bullets are hissing by your head,do you really think that ass and teabags are the thing to think about? come on.!! u have to be a complete retard if thats what you think.i know a few gay guys and one of them has been my best friend for almost 10 years,he just recently came out of he closet. i i would go to war,i wouldn't have Any other guy covering me in the line of fire!!!
there's an old saying that says that man fear what they don't know, and you homophobic idiots proof that to VERY true!!
