A friend of mine owns a carrera gt (his badass '69 black camaro is the one shipped to japan to film the metallica video "fuel") and my other friend Alan filmed Alex going 200mph. Alan sent me the link because he and I used to do this with his dad's corvette when i was 16 and alan was 15. We took it joyriding and he made me drive cuz he was scared to, so we video taped me driving 143 in this '87 vette on a two-lane highway. Anyway, Alex wins..having gone 200mph.

So then, what is the fastest speed you've driven a car, and what car was it?

My fastest speed was driving a formula one race car at firebird raceway for the bondurant driving class i took there when i was 18..i went 181.76 mph.

I've driven 150 MPH in our Porsche 911. This was on a race track though (lots of turns) so it wasn't top speed. Haven't been to Germany unfortunatly (Autobane)

I had my 69 Camaro up to 110MPH. It could definitely go faster, but the rear end was geared with 4:10 gears at the time. Great for the 1/4 mile, really sucky for that top end speed.

I also did 53 mph on my mountain bike on a paved hill...then i wiped out into the curb trying to make a turn in a wide intersection having slowed to only about 40....lotsa hurt.

I'm glad i'm old enough now to not go past 90 in a car..and i don't even ride a bike.
