Anyone getting the Optimus Keyboard when it comes out?
I know I will. I don't care about the price tag.
At least now i know what i want for Xmas.
I like firing at BH with my PKM. They hover there, full of troops, waiting for the flag to go up. Then I open fire, and the pilots often panic, so they start to fly away. The most gratifying thing, is to see the bodies fall from the sky.
And one time....
Shooting at a flaming BH with a pistol, and getting the kills for it.
And another time....
Crashing a Vodnik into a hovering BH.
I HATE BH!!!!!!!!

eh, i go for the pilot first. Once he is taken care of, one of two things happen:Galen1066 wrote:
I do like the fact that you can penetrate the canopy of a chopper though thats very cool, but always remeber to kill the gunner first, then the pilot..lol
1) that chopper falls to earth beacause his reaction time was too slow to punch F1 or E
or
2)He does press F1, and you get an easy follow up shot.
I did this once on Sharqi. There was a Cobra capping the first MEC flag, and i shot the pilot. The bird landed itself and i shot the gunner when he switched to the pilot seat. Then i took it, and tried to hide it, before crashing into that damn crane.

If you are a little more specific then maybe others can help you...
What do you mean by "it works"? It doesn't if people can't hear you.
Are you using Teamspeak? or are you using something else (like TeamSpeak)?
Are you using the correct key?
Is the mic set to the on position? (my headset has a little slider that determines whether the mic part is on or not)?

I have never loaded a map and been 2nd person in. I am always first to spawn, every single time. I'm usually 7-10 seconds ahead of anyone else on the map.
All settings 1024x768@85Hz on High, 4xAA. Framerate is exeptional, no slowdowns. Will run everything in 1280x1024 native when the new monitor arrives.
after you revive someone, try to always let yourself recharge the paddles before putting them away. If you interrupt it, you have to start all over again. it works the same way as reloading a gun.OnBoyce wrote:

yep, esp. after you nail a couple of them. It's important to displace every once in a while anyways, so they can never figure out which the direction the shots are coming from.mikeshw wrote:

this thread is quite funny, esp. duffry, who tried to turn BF2 into a popularity contest with the introduction of the "cool factor."
so this one time, i nail five of them on the runway... kicked from server before i could protest.
Here read this:

it says 10 new vehicles and 12 new weps... but i'm afraid they are mostly just for the new forces: Navy SEALs, British SAS, Russian Spetznas, MEC Special Forces, Rebel groups and insurgents.
should be fun; night vision!

Has anyone here ever played America's Army? Before each mission you are able to customize your weapon. For example, you could choose from handle sight to a scope, or a flashlight or a grenade launcher ( I don't remember what, exactly, the components were, but you get the idea) . Things like that might make cool unlocks. You could modify your kits from BFHQ and have them set to one or two wep configurations, and swap them just like you would unlocks. I always felt like the kits section of BFHQ was a place where EA could make major improvements.kilroy0097 wrote:
Things I would like to see in an expansion:
* Another round of unlocks for the class would also be an added bonus. Making the requirements difficult to get them would only inspire the players to get them. At very least it would give us a second list of weapons to choose for our unlocks. Simply more to choose from would be good.
Although, there would have to be some limitations, or else players like elektrik would have to much of an advantage against the rest of us.
Anyways, Kilroy, i believe that adding more unlocks is a good idea, and very possible.
Are you asking that BF2 introduce battleships? Cause if you are....<eN>Madcat wrote:
who remembers 1942. who remembers those things called battleships that had some of us happy. just yesterday i rammed an aircraft carrier into a battleship. They better bring some in!
Battleships are sweet, but are not used anymore. They became obsolete with the introduction of the fast aircraft carrier and their jet aircraft.
Although, i think some ppl are working on WWII BF2 mods, so perhaps battleships can be included in those.
One thing i noticed, is that in BFHQ under the tab "Kits" you can examine all of the weapons for all of the kits, including the unlocks. The thing that intrigues me, is that the unlocks have a little arrow pointing to the right, possibly suggesting more unlocks in the future. Maybe the xpack will provide more unlocks that are more readily available.
I assume, you speak of France when you say "whether some people in those countries like us or not"?Elvite wrote:
Disgruntled? "Or for that matter, fighting at all in Europe"? It's safe to assume that you don't feel that way personally, but that would be a sad, petty, and ungrateful thing if someone was to say that was their belief. There are a significant amount of US military bases all over Europe and many countries depend on their presence for their national security. Realistically, any European conflict would involve a significant amount of US forces who would gladly give their lives to protect their European allies, whether some people in those countries like us or not.
I was merely pointing out the fact that some Europeans may not be happy to see fighting (even simulated fighting), on the scale of that in Iraq, in Europe.
Mind you, i have no idea what an European would think, and i do not wish to offend any.
Turkey, perhaps?Elvite wrote:
Now, as far as what I was thinking about the game, I was thinking that some of the European countries closest to the Middle East may be a good choice for some new non-desert non-tropical/marshland/jungle environments.
i stand corrected.
thank you. i forgot about that.
thank you. i forgot about that.
i seriously doubt EA would ever do that.Rakasan wrote:
Forget the expansion pack, how about some patches that include new maps.
but we can hope...
ya, BF2 is really dying for some new maps, as alot of the maps currently available all feel the same, to me at least. The game remains very good, and replayable (to extents that i am ashamed to admit), but i would like to see alot of variation in the maps in the xpack.Elvite wrote:
I would like to see a portable SAM launcher. I'm also hoping that the new maps include some new environments like European/Russian urban and rural locals.
Europe and Russia, might be a good start, but the problem w/ that is the game is set in a more modern setting, than bf1942 (obviously), so their might be some people disgruntled seeing the USMC fighting in Europe (assuming that EA continues their format of having the USMC play on every map), or for that matter, fighting at all in Europe.
