i've seen topics here and there on these forums with regards to computer specs, but i was wondering what sort of keyboards, controllers and mouse that people use to improve gaming on BF2...

i've been thinking about getting one of those ZBoards, but haven't really been able to decide because i don't know of anyone that actually uses one for BF2, it would be cool to have the keyset for it...i think.  what about joysticks or gamepads for flying aircraft?  i know there is a big advantage for those that use a joystick to fly jets, but are they really worth the money?  and would a gamepad work just as well?

I use good 'ol logitech wireless keyboard and mouse, gotta question since we are on the topic of gear.  My wife bought me these awesome pair of BOSE headphones and they simply kick ass but i now dont have a mic attached to my headset right in front of my mouth and dont get that "spec ops" feelin when im playing.  I have been searching for a special mic attachment i could use that could clip onto my headset with a boom and just loop the wire around the hs wires.  I dont like the shirt clip ons or desk top booms.  Anyone seen something that would work.  Been thinking about just taking apart a headset with a built in boom and use that but afraid it wouldnt work right.

I have a basic Intellimouse Explorer Optical. I dont use my keyboard for gaming though.
I have a Nostromo N52 Speed Controller
http://www.twitchguru.com/2004/03/06/game_controller/

I use it for all my games. It took a few days of using it before i really liked it, but after that i found it impossible to go back to the W,S,A,D keyboard controls. The N52 is like a glove. Your hand is more open and relaxed than it is when all bunched up so it can fir the W,S,A,D key config. Couple it with the ability to map 27 keys x 3, and it rocks. I can set it so at the touch of a key it changes configs. So in Bf2, i can set up my Land controls, Air controls and vehicle controls seperately, while using all the same keys. Its just a matter of selecting the config i have for each one. Red Blue or Green lights let me know which one ive selected.

Wasnt sure i was gonna like it, but ive used it to the point that all the lettering is worn off it except for the big N52 logo on the side.

I use the Logitech MX-518. As lockandload said, a great mouse.
My keyboard is a no-name standard keyboard, but it works very well, I don't have any problems with it.
Got a Logitech WingMan too, but did not use it in BF2 yet.

I saw something on E-Bay under aviation or something like that where you could get an attachment that plugs right into the modular thingy on the earpiece (if you have the new style with detachable cord.)

There are already threads about what kinds of keyboards/mice we all use, but I'm feeling lazy.

Currently I'm using a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 for all of my movement needs. A Razer Diamondback Mouse which glides effortlessly upon my Func Surface 1030 for all of my aiming and firing needs. For those times I spend flying in a jet or chopper I reach for my Logitech Extreme 3d Pro.

Hell yeah, after the mx300 went away for the p.o.s. mx310 it was all downhill. I can't stand those HUGE 510 bodies that they use for everything these days.

Keyboard = ZBoard w/BF2 Keyset  <<< Love it
Mouse = Logitech MX518 <<< Love it
Joystick = Saitek x52 <<< Love it

I found that after using the zboard it's quite difficult to play on a regular keyboard...i had to remap a few keys to suite my needs, but i absolutely love it...the mouse has been mentioned already...the joystick, although pricey is awesome, way more than neccessary for this game, but i wouldn't trade it for anything

ALso I have a Old 1998 Microsoft Force Feedback Pro Joystick. That thing still works like a charm but recently I haven't used it for BF2 in flying.

Uhhh, not with that Kill/Death ratio, you wont.

Anyway, I use a Logitech G15 Keyboard, SOON to be a Logitech G5 mouse - but right now, using an MX510, and a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick.  Ratpadz gaming surface for the mouse, also.  Dont need anything else really...
