The L85A1 after the patch is much better now, and you can hit targets quite well at long ranges.  The only advantage over the G36E is that is has full auto for when you get up close.  Otherwise I stick the G36E, more accurate and powerful at medium to long ranges.

From lots of experience with the MG36 I would recommend it, as the P90 offers very little in the way of competition.  It is short range and packs very little punch, and can be unwieldy sometimes.  The MG36 in comparison takes a long time to overheat, has a good size clip and is deadly accurate.  You can lay down so much fire that anyone is toast.  Its even effective for taking down snipers at long range (thanks to the 1.2 patch).

Preference for me?  MG36 as its a much better all round upgrade.

lol, a newer, sexier queen?  hahaha, thats a good one.  Seeing as Prince Charles is up next to bat I wouldnt hold your breath.  But to be honest, our Queen is quite funny, there was an interview a while back with her and it was quite different to see how she acted towards some of the questions asked.  Most of her comments were humorous, but I dont think we pay our taxes for her to be a comedian?

We've been ruled by monarch's for centuries, and we've always payed money to them in the form of taxes.  Probably tradition, but they squeeze every last penny out of us, but seeing as its not much, we dont really pay attention.

Just completely upgraded my system and got a 1900XT, which I'll be putting together in the next couple of days.  From what I heard its extremely good so heres hoping it kicks ass.

I only got an instant kill with a headshot, any othershot takes you down to three red bars, or a little higher, but still, you have to hit them, and quite a few of the servers up for the new patch have lag, so its not easy.

It is a legit patch, its just that websites have released it ahead of schedual, like they did with 1.03.  There was a hell of a rush to get that one and most of the servers took so many hits they crashed.

I think the reason so many of them died was because everyone was manning AA to check it out.  After a while the flyboys learned to approach a different way, and I just sniped the AA gunners as easy targets sitting there, just waiting.

Well the patch is excellent, and its adressed more then I could think of.  The new sniper unlock and anti-tank unlock seem powerful, and accurate to, it doesnt seem that I have to compensate for bullet drop anymore, I just point and shoot and they die.  Its all good.
The L85A1 is so much more accurate, from the building site on Sharqi I got a headshot on one of the opposing building near the hill outpost.  It was incredible accuracy.  The P-90 packs a punch and is quite nice to use, and overall combat seems much more fluid now.

However...

The animations when you get up look a little weird, I dont know if I can put my finger on it, it just seems a little off.  Bunny hopping is back as I saw about 3 people doing it to get away, but they couldnt fire back so they were relitively easy targets.  AA is amazing, choppers dont really stand a chance now, but some pilots managed to get away, only just.

The menu's seem quicker now as well, and they crash a lot less.  Plus the multiplayer tab is now far more responsive and it seems you join quicker.  One problem though is that my progress bar on BFHQ is full and I'm not getting promoted, from what I can tell either its a bug or they broke it again.  I'm hoping its the former.

Hmm looks like I know what I'm doing for Valentines day!   I should really stop playing this game and get out more.

Nice fix list that they released, like the fact servers can now enable friendly fire to be off on mines to you get no more tk's for them if I read it right.

Bludgeoning an MEC trooper with a grenade and then having it explode 3 seconds later taking out his friend.  They flew quite far.

Ouch, get better soon dude.  I do martial arts, but your hardcore compared to me.

The G3 is an excellent gun! FTW!!  You can use it either as a rifle or a sniper rifle.  Its nice and accurate, plus is has a nice heavy round, which is why I snipe with it.
G36C and E are also extremely good guns.

I would go for the delayed server reaction, I had that when I went for my Vet Anti-Tank, after I killed another 3 people I got it then, sometimes the servers dont recognise it or take a while to update with the information.

However, thats how most of the Muslim's are taking it as the news shows, and they say you should not and that it has offended them greatly.  I can understand this and if it was me I would not have drawn pictures of someone elses God or God's, but what some of the Muslim's in the UK have been saying is completely out of line, and they are going about it the complete wrong way to try and gain support.  However, most of them are in the minority of extremists, and the majority although angered dont feel resentment towards the EU.

I did that once, I put two C4 on an MEC APC and then was about to run when it killed me.  However, a medic was on a TOW and took it out, but I got the points saying that it was my C4 that did it.  Didnt mind though, another two guys had spawned inside the APC anyway!

Try telling that to EA, and please, I was trying to compliment you.

Whos knows, you might, depends on how EA have made it.  You might be able to you might not.
So you could spend $10/£5 on a booster pack, but thats a big chance your taking if you want to spend some money just to get a gun in a computer game.

My advice, wait until it comes out and read what the gamers write who get it.  That way unless you dont want to play it you wont waste money.

Wow, glad you cleared that up for me...

One question though... I can understand the idea of getting the plane or the tank, but why would they spawn rape?  Dont immediately suspect everyone is what I'm trying to put across, some armour players are pretty damn good.
And the reason you see some people do this over, and over and, over again is because it works for the people that use it.  Why do people use certain weapon's and equipment over others?  Because it works for them.
And not everyone likes to come on to make themselves feel good, getting that far to 100,000 points its quite a milestone and an achievement like yourself.

Congratulations when you do get there.

Most threads get flamed by either those with too much time on their hands, if they have nothing better to do, or if they feel intimidated or if they just enjoy making others the target of flaming.  Nice community image huh?

And Stun_gun, congrats on the 100,000 points thing, maybe I'll get there one day, or just cry trying .

One last thing though, if he uses a plane most of his time and is branded a plane whore, and if someone else uses a tank most of their time and they are a tank whore, then if you use infantry lots, then arnt you an infantry whore?  Seriously less with the whore calling.

Yeah, BF2 is in the top 10 definitly, but my number one game has to be Deus Ex, loved that game and still do!

While I can all see where your coming from, and telling him its just a game, I just want to point out he plays it like a game.  He plays the game to win.  I cant really remember another game where you had to loose to win.  Seriously though he only plays how he wants to and thats what hes guilty of, enjoying himself.
And how is spending 1000 hours on wasting time?  Hes getting rewards from playing and being ranked among the top players.  Its quite an achievement.

If people want to play games in their lives let them.  If them want to spend lots, and I mean lots, of time on it, let them.  If they enjoy it, what right do we have to criticise them for doing things they like?  You might like something completely different like sports or reading or doing something, anything!  Do we have a right to criticise people for playing football for most of their time or finding enjoyment in something in their lives?

Theres only one answer, but if you feel the need to flame him, at least try to do it so you dont brand him with such insulting language which isnt necessary.

Its hardly fair to have to attack him and his methods of playing.  Each of us does something that would aggrivate or frustrate other players, and I'm sure there are things he could pick out about your style of playing he might not like.
Play how you want, enjoy yourself.  If you get into a situation where you are put under this sort of attack, then leave the server, or spawn somewhere else or just dont spawn.  Everyone uses their own tactics.  Its your job to develop your own to fight against your opponent.

You are completely right of course, but what I failed to illustrate in my post was that the 7800 was going to be outdone by its newer generation of nVidia card, and that it might be worth waiting to get something better than it.  Sorry for not making that clear.

If your desperate and you want it now, than in my opinion go for the 2 7800's.  However, if you can wait, nVidia I have been led to believe are releasing a new card to rival the X1900XT in the next two or three months.   Sorry I dont have an exact date, but if I were you I would wait, and buy the best you can.

Fortunately you dont have to go to all that trouble of sniping unless you wish to get your badge that way.  As long as you get the specified number of kills within the round, you get the badge.

I usually try the proper way, its just more fun, but then its up to the player on how they want to get it.

I would go for the X1900XTE's, they are much superior from what I have read, and perform much better than most cards out there.  Just like the X1800 which was the equivilant and much better than the 7800GTX, the X1900 is supossed to out perform in every area.  Its suppossed to be 3 times as powerful as some of the leading cards but I dont know if thats true or not.

By the way, how much did you find them for?

You might want to consider upgrading completely, new card, processor, and ram, as it might be more worthwhile.

However, if you did want to keep your current board and processor, upgrading your ram and graphics would mean you would be able to play the game on higher quality.  However, ram is often dependent on processing speed, so if you got a reasonably fast set of ram it would not mean it would be faster for your computer.

In the long run though, if you play often, it would be worth a complete upgrade.

Recommend:
AMD 3800+
and mobo with 939 socket PCI express.  With most prices you can get away with buying it for about under £300.  Then your ram, and graphics which you could get for about under £300 as well, unless you go for a high end card.

AMD if your going for your gaming rig.  In my experience AMD make better chips each time, there more reliable.

You will get it dont worry.  Even if you jump to First Sergeant you still get it, its just a higher rank in the same promotion position as Master Sergeant with the unlock.

Well apparently EA are fixing the L85A1 in the next patch so maybe this might be better?  Plus its got the grenade launcher of doom.

My great grandpa was a mounted lancer during World War One, and was then assigned to an artillery unit where he helped to move the guns.  He was later promoted to lead a unit of guns, earning dozens of military awards.  He served again in World War Two, and went back to his old artillery unit.
My other great grandad served in World War One, but was caught out in the open by a shell one day, and his arms were torn and peppered with shrapnel.  Luckily he made it home alive.
More recently I had my uncle who served in the RAF as an Engineer, but left a few years ago.

I really dont see the USA loosing power any time soon, not for decades, and it will take something more than an economic slump to finally put its people and the country itself down.  The Americans are a strong people, but sooner or later, time will tell.

While its an interesting idea, there already are badges for killing things, like ground defence or the explosives ordinance badge or anti-tank etc...

I can see where your coming from but as Gawwad said, the game is about surviving and helping your team in the process.  There already are awards out there but for sacrificing your life in a game?  Nah, dont think EA would like that.

Not necesserily, just because you cleared out one guy, doesnt mean that thats it.  Becareful in expecially hot areas or spawns.  You have to becareful as a medic because your at your most vulnerable when you go to revive, as most people tend to ignore the world around them.  Kill, check, revive.  You cant save everyone, but you can sure as hell make the other team pay for it in blood.

Yeah stay back.  People often run into the middle of a battle and get themselves killed, whereas the best thing I usually do is to stay back until I can see most the them have moved off, before circling round and flanking them.  Real world tactics seem to work in the game too, so think before you act, and you should stay alive for longer.

Good point.  I once joined a Strike at Karkand server and the team were getting owened, and no one was using the APC or tank, so I grabbed the APC and helped to stem our casualties.  After about a minute we managed to get back into the city and capture the first flag but our advance was then halted.

It appeared no one wanted to use the vehicles because apparently that was whoring them.  I mean is that what its come to?  The only people I would class as whores are those who keep doing it and keep getting killed in quick succession, but then there are those wih skill who manage to turn back entire pushes and not get taken down.

Some people just cant hack it when going up against a tank, and they sometimes expect others to have to attack it to remove it.  Now thats what gets me, why not just spawn as anti-tank and do the job yourself?  No tank can sustain a continued attack without support, so its all about teamwork again.  And most of my friends tempers blow when they go on that game, its really weird but funny as hell to listen to as they scream over VOIP.

Its nice to see someone who plays and uses the tank effectively, and its good to see that there are some skilled players somewhere.  Keep up the good work!
