Agreed on the Joysticks just got the 3d pro the other day and I'm happy. It seems like Joysticks should have gotten cheaper, they're like the same price they were like 10 years ago. Everything in computers has dropped except joysticks. Makes you feel like a lamer when you buy one, but it's a good investment.

Nope, considering about 99% of the pilots out there pull some really stupid moves and let very basic pilots get behind them that's advice that most people should take to heart, esp in a F35. Most people would be better served practicing their situational awareness than how to stratorun.xXDomination wrote:
Wow. That's brilliant. I'm surprised no one else has ever thought of that one. The fact is, no matter what you do, if you're trying to kill anything while flying a jet, you will be chanced upon from an enemy jet who has the advantage. So that statement is null and void.Greenspan wrote:

So you agree? I said it's not the end all to dogfighting, and you go even further and say it's not dogfighting at all. Okay, I'll take that as a support. LOL, now your just being picky. Okay, nobody said verbatim that "STRATORUNNING IS THE ENDALL TO DOGFIGHTING", I'll give you that, but if you would have read the previous posts you'd see people seem pretty excited about stratorunning. That's the wrong approach to being sucessful in a F35.xXDomination wrote:
Stratorunning isn't even dogfighting. If anything it's an admission to your defeat in a dogfight and a means to escape the dogfight or one sided engagement, hence the name, stratorunning. No one has even said they believe stratorunning is the end all means of escaping defeat. To average pilots, it's an excellent way to survive, simple as that.Greenspan wrote:

Stratorunning can work in specific situations but they're in the minority. The fact is, no matter what you do, if you're trying to kill anything while flying a jet, you will be in a lot of situations where stratorunning won't help you.
Got the laywer on speed dial to pick apart my words some more? That'll be another $200/hr.
LOL yea totally. BF2 doesn't compare to DoD/CS when it comes to hit boxes. When people complain about hitboxes in DoD/CS they're talking about the hitboxes being off by like 3 inches, in BF2 it's a whole helicopter length.Arnie_Ze_Austrian wrote:
The hitboxes in CS:S are relatively good IMO. The ping and interpolation buffer are both accounted for AND bullets are hitscan (instant hit). From what I remember, a lot of the videos you see showing the "server's" hitboxes do not take into account the interpolation buffer (i.e. the videos are misleading). You think battlefield hitboxes lag? Try playing CSS....it's way worse. Lags by about 4-6 feet....
There was one specific CS:S patch which TOTALLY fucked the hitboxes, but they put it back to normal fairly sharpish.
As for the original post, it's not possible. The delayed hitboxes are caused by lag, so there's really no way to produce it in single player because there is no lag. The closest your going to get is what Hakei did, which I think is pretty cool, it actually explains why the F35 hitboxes blow so badly, the 2 tails are taken as one huge hitbox. LAWL @ DICE. I cant wait for more.
Maybe they just kicked you because they were noobs and then claimed it was high ping?
Meh. "I've done x" or "I've seen y" statements doesn't make something the rule and not the exception. The basic principle of stratorunning is flawed, you have to gain a lot of altitude and a lot of speed that equals time; something your not going to have against better pilots. The whole out of bounds/almost killing yourself thing just makes it just that much more silly.DefCon-17 wrote:

I've evaded decent J10 pilots by stratorunning after he started locking on at roughly 200 feet.
..Or you can be like those moronic F35 pilots and go straight up as soon as you hear the lock-on tone.
I'm not saying it never works, nor am I saying it should never be used. I'm just saying it's not the end all to dog fighting.

It'd be funny if they cut off 2142, the games like 9 months old. If they can't even provide support for their game for a year LOL. A true testamant to how sucky that game is.
If you guys don't like EA's support STOP BUYING THEIR FREAKING GAMES!! The only reason they keep pumping out this crap, is because we all eat it up and they make assloads of money.

Stupid question, what else are you supposed to use.
The whole idea of not using unlocks is because when you play competitively your not allowed to use unlocks. So people who care about being more than a pub all-star will avoid them.
Skill isn't determined by how many points you have, so pwning noobs with an unlock doesn't really mean as much as beating them with a gun they could use.

Think spotted will only stay spotted for 10-30 seconds [?] Someone else can prolly answer that.
Other thing to mention :
If as commander you do a scan +
single enemy is alone in back seat of vehicle [like Vodnik - w/o a mounted weapon] they will not show on scan.
Also - believe read once that enemy Spec Ops [not moving] will not show on scan.
Hope that helps.
Not being able to play the boster packs IS because of EA/DICE so don't whine about it in you "it's not EA/DICE!" thread. There's a reason it's $10, and a reason why nobody buys them. It's your fault for being dumb, and not put two seconds of effort into finding out if you can play them w/o internet, before buying them. YOUR FAULTIrishWind wrote:
UGH! I was hoping to learn there are good servers out there. I also play Day of Defeat, and most servers are sympathetic, and know the ping will go back down. Just fustrating that I finally got the booster backs, and all I can see is the stupid worthless manual it came with. Or the single player mode taunting me with the new maps.
As for behaving, I always join a team, and am willing watch my K/D ratio go to pot to toss out a med/ammo bag or cap a flag.
As for getting kicked from servers, Day of Defeat isn't as touchy to lag as BF2. Your on this map like 1/10 the size of most BF2 maps, with at most 32 other people, more like 16 usually, no cars/tanks/boats/planes/helicopters, no squads, and no commander stuff; think about it. It's amazing they can squeze al that stuff in, esp with you playing on freaking PUBLIC WIRELESS. DoD sucks anyway now that Sauce is out; probably the biggest reason they're not kicking you is because they're happy to finally have someone in their server.
It sounds like your full of problems and your trying to blame it on everyone else. I'm not saying BF2 is perfect, far from it, but of all the things to complain about! Getting kicked for latency issues while your on PUB WIFI!?!?!!? Get a better internet connection and STFU!

You can only spot 1 at time.
Some may disagree - but kinda annoying if commander is trying spot everyone on map.
Think if they are close to one your troops [not under UAV scan]
or in danger of capping one of your flags then it is useful to spot.

Sniper: knife, pistol, sniper, flashbang, claymore, (maybe?)Grappling hook
Engineer: knife, pistol, shotgun/smg, grenades, c4, wrench
Scout: knife, pistol, battle rifle/assault carbine/smg, grenades, binoculars(for spotting troops and picking targets for artillery), smoke grenades
The support and medic classes would be the same as in bf2.

Honestly, I tihnk it's almost impossible to detect someone "hacking" by just playing with them. This game is so glitchy that 90% of the stuff people call hax on is just bad netcode. A lot of people can't fathom that there might be somebody better than them, so if they get beat "HAXXOR!". Honestly, 99.99999% of the people who get called "hackers" in this game are really just good players. No, most people don't hack, they're just good at the game.
LOL sigh if you still think that it's sequential LOL @ u. Maybe they started it at a base like 44 million or something, but highly unlikely.
You'd be better off looking at the Date Enrolled stat than the PID stat. Or better yet find someone that works @ ea and ask them.

Look at joker ballers. 44 027 284, so your saying 44 million people registered and made that many mutliple accounts on opening day?

There's only about 260,000 people w/ scores >100, so i doubt there's 44 million people in BF2. There must be some other numbering scheme they usecowami wrote:

I'd reccomend becoming an asshat when you get pissed. Sometimes when I'm playing with a dumbass team, instead of getting pissed, I join them. Get in a car and jump out just as your about to run someone over or load up a blackhawk and ram a freindly heli just as you jump out, you'll go from angry to laughing your ass off guaranteed. It's probably not the most policially correct solution, but who cares it's a freaking video game!

Yea, I'd reccommend sticking with the mouse. It's A LOT faster, and A LOT more accurate than any of those analog sticks or d-pads. Maybe for vehicles it'd be good, but for any infantry work the mouse is the way to go. I know your probably used to the PS2 controller, but it will be worth your time/effort to learn the mouse. After which you'll be asking how to plug your mouse into your PS2
I'll take commander if nobody else wants it, but I'm not going to stop fighting. Honestly, I'd rather be able to be 100% focused on trying to kill the enemy then putting down UAVs for people, so being commander is usually a second choice for me. But, me being a bad commander is usually better than no commander at all.
Being commander is something you either like or you don't. Some people enjoy it some don't. It's not that outrageous that you enjoy being commander, a lot of people do!

G36E is easily the best gun in the game, but you can't use it in matches; so no point fooling yourself. Stick with the 101 or the M16.
lol hilarious
g36c, I mean you don't have to buy SF to use it, that makes it a sure winner
Nice little advertisment for that book, ATG. Didn't know the debate and serious talk section was tuning into a marketplace.
The problem with nuclear weapons is the same as it was 50 years ago. Yes, they probably could nuke a few of our cities. BUT, it would make the entire US go APE, and we'd turn the middle east into a glass plain. Right now there's not a whole lot of political support for Iraq and Afganistan, but if they nuked a city there would be INSANE political support for ANYTHING as long as it entailed killing these bastards. They blew up 2 buildings on 9/11 and the US took over 2 entire countries to hunt them down, what do you think will happen if they blow up an entire city?
It's really not in their best intrest to be blowing up cities right now.

Yea, I would have TKed you too. Probably would have thrown down a grenade, before I revived you too.
ZOMG! This would be a perfect opportunity for the ORLY?! owl! So hard to resist!!
Anytime you see an enemy vodnik or car drive by you, just shoot at him with your gun. You won't kill him, but every shot will register as a hit, and it will help your accuracy.
What's the advantage to upgrading to Vista? New GUI? Less memory? Untill games start requiring Vista, I'm sticking with XP. I don't even like XP, I'd be running Windows98 or DOS if they supported current software.
The problem is, people who play in leagues can't use there unlocks in matches, so when they they pub they avoid using the unlocks because they want to practice with the stock guns. Then they end up getting killed by some no0b with a G36E and they whine. If you could use the G36E in matches, everyone in the game would just be using that.
The G36E is an overpowered weapon there's just no debate. It's not going to shield you from bullets, but in the hands of someone semi-smart, it'll beat every other gun in all situations.

I've thought long and hard over a G15 and I don't think I can justify paying that much money for a keyboard. BF blocks the macros from a G15 so you can't use them, and although the screen is nice I just can't see when I would spend time looking at it.
I know the illumination on the G15 is very good compared to the eclipse but as stated, who spends their time looking down at the keyboard?
EDIT: Beaten to it by Max
It doesn't matter if your using a G15, G11, Razer, Saitek, IBM. Try binding something to fire single shots really fast (<0.1 sec) or something simmilar, it won't work because BF2 knows it's not possible and blocks it.
Without this capability (to preform actions faster than your hand can) macros are pointless in BF2. Just use your fingers! Don't waste $100 on a peice of crap
I don't see anything there worth $100. Same goes for the G15 but at least it has the screen. Gaming keyboards >$60 = ripoff. There's some nice features no doubt, but nothing spectacular that would make it worth spending $100 on something you can get for $5.TheEternalPessimist wrote:
Yup me lol, it's fkin expensive but it looks classy, specially when it's next to a Copperhead mouse. Keys are perfectly weighted, held every key i could on the keyboard down and it didn't lock up (your average keyboard locks up after 5), its got an expansion slot thing on the top for add ons, only got the UV light and camera thing ATM but there's more stuff being made for it (probably a G15-esque LCD screen at some point), BF2/2142 doesn't block it's macros so you can use those if you want, every key can be re-bound to another key, e.g you can make 'e' into 'm', pull the keys off and swap em round, there's replacement key sets for it with weapon logos on them to highlight the important stuff (they're blue so it's easier to differentiate them), can set up 100 different profiles, can store 5 of them in the keyboards on-board memory so you can take it round a friends, load the profile and presto all your controls are set up straight away.
The Saitek is even worse. It doesn't even have macros! WTF are people paying +$50 for? A light?
Honestly I think the best thing you can go for, if anything, is the n52.
You'd have to reset the stats, or else it wouldn't mean anything and would just screw over the few new people who come to this game. And I think reseting stats is a whole nother can of worms
