Notice you are from Woodbridge. I lived there for two days. Traffic pissed me off and I moved to Alexandria.
I don't believe you.
You can get them back with a little bit of playing. No worries.joey_915 wrote:

I haven't seen any stat padders in the last five months that I've played.
I've only encountered a couple of incidents in my entire 'career'.
Maybe I just know what servers to play on.
I can't help but notice you're holding a pistol in that pic...
Could it be because you are on a "Pistols and knives" server yourself padding your stats?

They do it because someone that gets paid a lot of money tells them to do it that way.
Special Forces I felt came out too soon. Same with the Euro Force "booster pack".
Armored Fury was released at just about the right time.
They sold enough copies of all of these that they felt people were ready for some BF2142 and tired of BF2. It's been out a year and a half now. They usually release an entirely new game similar to the last one in year-long cycles.

You trying to start a forum war, boy?
Let's see... My most unusual kill was I was driving a tank (surprise surprise) at Dalian Plant and I was after this AH-1Z who kept circling me. I saw him lining up for a TV missle and I fired at him and missed and thought "Oh damn.. I'm toast" and hopped out of the tank.
Well when I hopped out of the tank the TV missle still hadn't fired so I started shooting at the chopper with my G36C and I killed the pilot in the first burst of rounds and the chopper crashed into a building with the gunner still inside.
This is the only time I've ever been able to kill a pilot out of a chopper... This includes in excess of 50 sniper rounds fired in attempt to do so.

There's no way around it - it's something you should just expect to happen every time you try to repair a vehicle. If someone takes it, it's best to just let it roll off your back and go a different route.
I don't do it to other people.. I have jumped in the tank as it was getting repairs so that the engineer gets a repair point and I can watch for incoming APCs, etc.. , but when it's done to full armor I switch to gunner or jump out and let him have it back.
Has someone taken the tank from me? Yes. Once. After that I've always either not repaired it or taken it a distance away from others so I can repair it without worrying about losing it. I always watch for blue dots closing in on my on the minimap as I repair... if they get close I jump in regardless of how much repair I've done.

Songhua Stalemate is good if you like driving an APC, but Zatar and Clean Sweep I feel are completely awful maps for anyone except the four jet pilots on the server.
Number one underrated map on the poll is Fu She Pass. In fact, I think it's the best map BF2 offers along with Dragon Valley.

If you're new I find the 24 player servers with 32 player maps are the best ones to play. It's not overwhelming and you can get a good feel for the mechanics of the game with little chance of getting owned over and over and over again.
I thought this was going to be a stupid thread but I like how it progressed. +1 for all that posted a screenshot.
My favorite kind of noob is the noob that sits in our uncap flag with a tank defending it. This is done often as PLA on Dalian Plant - 1 out of 5 rounds I'm sure to see it.
Typing "Please do not sit in the tank... Do something with it" usually doesn't work.

Is it just me or is the view distance extremely far in that?
I find BF2 to be quite enjoyable at times.
What I mean by that... are when you think of Battlefield 2, what map do you picture in your head?
For me, it's FuShe Pass and Dragon Valley. There's all kinds of things to worry about and so many strategies to employ, with mines, C4, AT camping spots, etc... Also the air power has a lot to worry about in both these maps with mobile AA and plenty of hard to hit AA emplacements... The attack choppers can dominate the map if nobody is smart enough to hop in a FAV or similar mounted weapon in a tight spot in some trees where they can't be seen. It seems like everything Battlefield has is shoved into these two maps - which I think are the most balanced two maps in the entire rotation.

I like playing USMC simply because I know that I will always have a place to spawn.
I would love to be able to hit targets in BF2 from a distance greater than 5 meters with any of the shotguns.
I've layed C4 on the nose of the shitty MEC transport chopper several times and used that in Mashtuur to take out the tank whores.
I think jihad jeeping is a perfectly acceptable way to kill armor. I drive armor a lot, and I've died a lot by them... What should I do to prevent this?
Make a server rule that says no jihad jeeping?
No.
Learn how to blow up cars with a tank round before they get close?
Yes.
Of course if you are in an APC the only option is to hit the car with the missle. Also if you are going full speed you have the chance to jump out at the same time the driver jumps out and the APC will coast the same distance as the car, saving you from explosion.

I'm sure there are, but they aren't ranked.
The most noobish thing I've done I guess is get in a tank or an APC on a map where the jets and helicopters constantly own me... It took me a while to learn that when this happens, don't get in a tank or APC... get in a moble AA or AA emplacement.
Also, I've learned from being gunned down by jets constantly while in a moble or stationary AA, to step out of it so it doesn't show up as a bright green square, and then get in it and fire as they fly past.

"15. If friendly fire is on for mines and claymores, please at all costs mine and claymore your spawn bases!"
Is this even possible with 1.3????

This is the stupidest thread I've clicked on today.
Hogwarts: Great K/D ratio, excellent armor ratio, and win/loss ratio is sexcellent. If not for over half your play time being at Sharqi and Karkland I'd give you 10/10... Instead you get 9.5 out of 10.
What about a "no, it should be 2 points" option?
This thread is funny.
I haven't been teabagged very often - but yesterday I did continuously shoot a corpse of someone that had killed me probably five times in a row.

People do that stuff all the time to pad their stats, if you don't deal enough damage to warrant a -1 - but if you heal them you get a point. He may have suspected you for doing the same...
Or maybe he was just annoyed and wanted to kick you.

I don't want carty to be gone heh... I just think it's silly that you can pinpoint where it is going to land. On top of buildings could be good for a sniper on your team already there to get in and use the mounted machine gun to take out a chopper or something. Of course there's the chance (with lower drop accuracy) that the car will drop down the side of the building instead but that's a chance you can take.Cbass wrote:
Nice idea Craw. Combine that with "limited" places u can drop vehicles, like no drops on building, helipads, stuff like that. and maybe carty would be gone?
If you guys really get pissed just by looking at someone's stats - look at their statpage and join the server they're playing... Take your vendetta out there. Make a squad, tell everyone to be AT and stop him. It's kind of silly to talk about it on a message board.
EA allows servers to enforce certain rules like C4 on the jeep and cartillery... http://www.bfroe.com/ for details.
I see nothing wrong with dropping cars on snipers... What I think should be narfed is the accuracy of the vehicle drop - what plane will be able to drop a vehicle exactly where you want? It shouldn't exist, just like when you do an artillery strike and click right on a camping moblie AA and the shells hit everything except where you click it.

Haha.. Rarely do I die in the tank or APC at Strike at Karkland.... It's the best way to get your K/D up though.Trake wrote:

When I finally learned how to play the game and got above 1.0, this is what my stats looked like:

He's playing on my clan server right now... 0 kills and 8 deaths (I'm about to kick him to make room for me) so far... Looking at his stats he sucks.
It appears that most of his kills are with the knife... THE KNIFE... So his stats are horrible even though he pads them.
Now that I think about it... maybe it's just a dummy account for his friends to take advantage of...
What do you think?

EA specifies that ranked servers follow certain rules (which means admins shouldn't kick people because they were stabbed while they weren't paying attention) , if enough people file complaints of a similar nature then they might send people into the server to see if it's true or not - and if so bad things might happen to that server.
Girl or not, those are some nice legs.

Better than most, but not nearly as good as it could be.
I'm at 26.83% now.
I voted for all three options.
I play Karkland because it appears in the map rotation.
Other than that, I can live without it. The map makes tank whoring too easy.

It's a very touchy situation.

I have this exact same issue. I installed this dll file and played around with it and it seems to be working great so far.micr0n wrote:
Ok I got this reply from PB and this worked for me. YAY! Make sure you back up the older file in case of problems.
Note #2: I would like to work directly with you to narrow down the issue.
First: We have a new test PB Client ready which will hopefully help. Make a backup of your current pbcl.dll in the bf2/pb folder, and then replace the file with this one:

+1 for you every day that I don't get the issue.

Yes I forgot about the legacy method... If you do not have a CD drive then you must use your A: drive. It is best to tilt your PC on its back and leave it there for maximum cooling effectiveness.polarbearz wrote:
The hose goes into the floppydrive. Its not really a floppy drive, 'floppy' is the description of the hose.
For more proof: its A: Drive. 'A' being the shortform for 'Ahosetobeinsertedhere'
I suggest you do not follow the advice of polarbearz because he lies a lot. I am sure you would break your computer by listening to it.polarbearz wrote:
Try hitting the power switch on and off quickly about 3 times, it resets your rig to default settings. Flick it really fast.
Instead, maybe your computer is overheating and that's what is causing the lag? I suggest you install a watercooling system. You will need to remove all of your case fans and tape up all of the vents really good (or even glue pieces of sheet metal over them), and also caulk up the cracks. Grab a hose and insert it into your CD drive, turn it on and keep it on until you see it backing out. You have successfully watercooled your computer.
Here's a screen of one of said matches where my whole team sucked... I was just about the only one with a positive K/D ratio.

Here my team wasn't doing so bad that I couldn't enjoy myself so I finished the round and disconnected... But sometimes when I see that all the flags are going bye-bye in a hurry and there's nowhere left to spawn - or we're held back to the carrier with no chance of escape I wont hesitate to disconnect immediately.
