A real debate was ineffective against even weak rhetoric tactics. More people were confused after the debate and changed their minds about Global Warming. A personal blog of the participating scientists - indicated they were not sure that actual reasoning is effective against tactics that attempt to muddle an issue rather than elucidate.

What you see on the OP map is a much bigger Island than the one you got that is more clearly drawn on the map, if you read the article it has always been regarded as a part of an peninsula !

And there is a tiny difference comparing a satellite photography against a drawn map like you have !

Regarding the DST, we allow multiple threads on the same subject because these are complex issues that have multiple angles.  This thread aims to look at one specific piece of evidence as opposed to the general concept.

And another thing, even if threads do completely repeat themselves please consider that new people join this forum everyday and if they come to the DST they want to be able to debate.  The fact that a similar debate took place 6 months ago does not mean that it can't be redebated again.

Seriously, I've given up arguing on the topic. I don't care any more about whether global warming exists or not, but I care about the measures that should have been enacted a decade ago.

1.) The comment was not directed at you or the article (it was kind of general; and more or less accurate).

2.) I did not post the links to the other threads as a reason (or as argument; or as a judgment) why this should be considered invalid. I never suggested that this thread should be closed, merged, deleted, etc. I provided the links as a means to access some of the typical type of posts - I indicated get recycled over and over again.

3.) I never said this thread or the article was uninteresting, in fact I karma'd you the opposite.

4.) Your more-passionate-assumption is nothing more than mere assumption.

Actuality of it = actual opinion = case closed.

Also there are so many misconceptions & rhetoric tactics concerning Global Warming, well it becomes tedious to address them all over and over again... it is not a measure of being jaded. I am not as superfly_cox or chuy might assume. I never rejected anything other than thoughtless recycled rhetoric - I consider idiotic (or course that is an IMO).
