Well it extends to global warming. People may rather believe in global warming and do thier part, rather than say its a falacy and be wrong.

pretty hard to argue religion and global warming, if the case happens where global warming starts destroying human life then it will be "god punishing us for our sins." I certainly don't see the hardcore religious pushing earth first ideas, thats for damn sure. Well..maybe the Amish.
