I didn't play ace of spades but I've been aware of it.
I haven't found *many* bugs at the moment, and certainly none that I care about, going open beta on the 26th anyway so majority should be sorted out by then if there are any game breakers
An interesting little game thats in BETA at the moment, very easy to pick yourself up a key and I'll post any that I can get ahold of myself though it took me less than 10 minutes of digging to get one myself.
It's a cross between Minecraft and a shootemup, one mode where you can build yourself maps and one where you can duke it out.
Build, Share, Play
This sandbox fun-shooter allows players to create worlds and maps that they’ve always dreamed of, brick by brick. They can share these virtual playgrounds with the community and use them as the backdrop for fast-paced shooter hunts against fellow players or computerized opponents.
This comic style online game is built on the ‘Unity 3D‘ engine and will be playable directly in a web browser. Unity 3D will have to be downloaded before playing.
The ‘sandbox’ mode, in which players use simple building blocks to construct complex environments, can be played on social networks and mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. With a range of different brick styles to choose from, combined with the possibility to place key interactive elements such as turrets or bomb sites, players will find themselves challenged in numerous creative ways.
Players will find themselves stepping into the shoes of both map builder and game designer. They will have the opportunity to dazzle their team mates with creativity, and the most talented map designers will be rewarded handsomely for their efforts.
The ‘shooter’ mode is an action orientated platform with a range of different game types which will be familiar to fans of team-based shooters. Classic modes such as Team and Solo Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Blast Mode are all in place.
Players can choose from a wide variety of different guns, weapons and armor with different stats and functions.
Challenges deployed by the map creators must be overcome using teamwork, skill and reactions to defeat opposing teams. Social features such as a clan system have been integrated, allowing gamers to team up with their friends and compete for fame and glory.
I like the getting up from prone position, prevents any sort of dolphin diving apart from that, yeah the animations are quite slow especially when your guy can't get over a tree that's fallen at ankle height and just kind of uselessly bobs around for ages
This "VEHICLE DISABLED" thing is weird, I'd hit a T-90 till that came up (2 shots), then hit it another 4 times and it killed me. I know it was being repaired but it made no sense why a disabled, flaming tank can win that engagement.
Don't underestimate someone repairing, one person repairing can heal about 90% of the damage you do between shots
It's not particuarly pleasant but hey we've all signed away our right by agreeing to the Eula, I personally don't give two shits if they are doing a check to make sure I'm not stealing their products
I think a much more pressing issue is that the EULA allows EA to scan for other EA products on your machine and check whether you own a "licence" to them, or so I read on eurogamer.
Well don't pirate games then, if you pirate they risk going out of business and then we get no games from them
I personally don't have many problems with the game, the squad system is lacking but just about does the job it's functional just not as easy to use as it possibly could be, and what's wrong with the vehicles? I'm finding that more and more people are getting the knack of air vehicles and starting to dominate land vehicles more, people weren't going to be flying aces a few days into release
I am trying to use Chrome instead of IE9 as my browser, seems to have slped the load times some. I will keep you posted.
edit... WTF is slped? I think that was supposed to be helped, or maybe sped.... either way, the load times are faster for me using Chrome than they were using IE9.
Fast enough on firefox as well, takes about a minute for me.
Only glitch I've had so far was that I got evived once and kinda of became a nonentity, however I still counted as being alive and was given the cap points on the flag. I suicided afterwards with 450 points and a smile on my face.
Yeah it's not a bad job over here as well to be honest, I just didn't think I could put up with the crap. Engineering is more my style, less old people and crackheads
