An interesting little game thats in BETA at the moment, very easy to pick yourself up a key and I'll post any that I can get ahold of myself though it took me less than 10 minutes of digging to get one myself.

It's a cross between Minecraft and a shootemup, one mode where you can build yourself maps and one where you can duke it out.

Build, Share, Play

This sandbox fun-shooter allows players to create worlds and maps that they’ve always dreamed of, brick by brick. They can share these virtual playgrounds with the community and use them as the backdrop for fast-paced shooter hunts against fellow players or computerized opponents.

This comic style online game is built on the ‘Unity 3D‘ engine and will be playable directly in a web browser. Unity 3D will have to be downloaded before playing.

The ‘sandbox’ mode, in which players use simple building blocks to construct complex environments, can be played on social networks and mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. With a range of different brick styles to choose from, combined with the possibility to place key interactive elements such as turrets or bomb sites, players will find themselves challenged in numerous creative ways.

Players will find themselves stepping into the shoes of both map builder and game designer. They will have the opportunity to dazzle their team mates with creativity, and the most talented map designers will be rewarded handsomely for their efforts.

The ‘shooter’ mode is an action orientated platform with a range of different game types which will be familiar to fans of team-based shooters. Classic modes such as Team and Solo Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Blast Mode are all in place.

Players can choose from a wide variety of different guns, weapons and armor with different stats and functions.

Challenges deployed by the map creators must be overcome using teamwork, skill and reactions to defeat opposing teams. Social features such as a clan system have been integrated, allowing gamers to team up with their friends and compete for fame and glory.

I didn't play ace of spades but I've been aware of it.

I haven't found *many* bugs at the moment, and certainly none that I care about, going open beta on the 26th anyway so majority should be sorted out by then if there are any game breakers

seems like a neat idea until you realise that most gamers are not also map-designers/game-designers for a reason.

in terms of actual fps play this will be a shitty headache

although maybe i'm missing the whole point... the joy of creation, etc. but personally i can barely stand even playing on custom maps in games like tf2/css. not sure how a 16-bit brick game is gonna make that frustrating experience any more fun.
