Some lawyers are in the habit of advising someone not to apologize, at least not before being charged? as it could be construed as an admission of guilt.AussieReaper wrote:

Jaekus- Of course what zimmerman did was reprehensible, but in the eyes of the law, martin was potentially the one to initiate a felony by attacking zim. first. I dunno if theres a witness for the initial confrontation, but if the courts decide in zim's favor on that one, I think he'll get away with it. He covered his own ass if he didn't pull the gun until he was allegedly getting his ass beat.
All this IMO obviously.

Agreed on the dad point, for sure. Prosecutor said he has suffered enough? But not the other witnesses, apparently, according to him. I've read elsewhere (rumors) that the dad, after forcing the 15 yr old range officer to let his son shoot it, the child couldn't engage the grip safety, he was too weak. So they tied a rubber band around it to bypass it?
Another that I again, don't have an actual source for, was that the divorced parents sued the shooting club, chief, and guys who provided the uzi. This was supposedly settled for around $700,000. I would like to retract my previous statement of sanity in the courts. They fucking gave the people most responsible, IMO, money. Thats not sanity or justice. At least it was an insurance company's payout and not tax dollars wasted locking up innocent people.

FFS guys, he didn't say replace money with sheep, just that where bartering is a viable option, to take that route. Ya know, with craigslist shit like that guy who traded a pen, and eventually worked up to a porsche or whatever. Unfortunately it wouldn't work in most cases, as far as todays society permits. We have a throwaway culture and shit is made cheaply, and made to fail eventually. Nobody wants used junk. But it does work sometimes, like buying refurbished electronics could be viewed as a type of bartering system, at least at the stage where you trade it back for cash or store credit.
Serious question here....is it not a felony to enter the country illegally? Not saying I advocate shooting illegals, just need clarification on specifics.
Ed. NVM, I learnededed all by meself. Apparently its a misdemeanor, and if repeated, then punishable as a felony. But at the same time entering without being legally documented, or entering legally, and overstaying your visa, is deportable. But we don't deport them (most i guess, not all). Kudos to this man, wish more disgustingly rich folk with plenty of time, would buy up all property along the border and hunt the most dangerous game. Shame they need to do it in the first place, granted.

There are already places to go for proficiency...most owners would also teach you for free, provided you paid for the ammo.
Ed. I guess what I mean is, how would it help if its not mandated?

Grey area methinks, whats to say of people being taught how to shoot and proper firearms responsibility by family, boy scouts, etc. What does my bank account have to do with firearms knowledge? Are you willing to have citizens be type certified on guns, as a pilot is on airplanes? Sounds like a surefire way for the costs of firearm ownership to explode. Don't let the gun haters get onto this, gov't could easily misuse such a program, which started with the best intentions.JohnG@lt wrote:

Well even though I agree owning a firearm for a "good reason" like self defense is a right of a law abiding citizen, that right is steeped in responsibility. Unfortunately just because you might not have ever broken the law, does not necessarily prove you are responsible. You can be an idiot and not be a criminal. I do not want idiots running around with weapons any more than I want a criminal running around with weapons. So I can tolerate gun control in the sense that idiots and criminals are weeded out and education on safety and gun laws are mandatory. If nothing else, it might further protect a citizen, if only from himself, or an unlawful shooting.west-phoenix-az wrote:
One major problem I have with classes, registration and permits is the costs and time involved. It's a right in this country, you shouldn't have to pay to exercise your right. Some people don't have the time or money to jump through the hoops. Just because they can't put aside the time or money doesn't mean they don't have a legitimate need for a firearm. The gun and ammo costs enough as it is. Lets say your sister had a bad break up with her boyfriend and suddenly feels the need for a firearm. You should be able to give or loan one of yours. Under the law in many places you'd both be breaking the law...... and that ain't right. Plus the government has no business knowing what guns I own, it only makes it easier for them to take them away if they feel the need.

hahaha, I just remembered something from when I lived in FL. There was a fucking blind guy in our CCW class. Try to wrap your eurobrains around that one. I couldn't figure it out myself, I think they didn't deny him because they were afraid of getting sued.
the only conclusion i can come up with is people are too fucking stupid to defend themselves, and thus need to rely on others. And that is the major fail, as I learned at an early age, rely on your motherfucking self, it just may come back to haunt you otherwise.
You do bring up valid points...not everyone is cut out for it. That is why it's important for people to learn gun control, starting at an early age. If you knew how to shoot a gun as well as you could kick a soccer ball, drive a car, or whatever, it'd be good right? If more people knew more about safe weapon operation, it wouldnt be that big of a deal, right? We could learn what people were not cut out for it, and those people wouldnt be allowed guns? Why have to go through all the trouble of being a police officer when one could learn self defense and personal property laws? Come to think of it, most people I know that have no clue of such laws, or weapon operation, do not even know how to obtain a gun, even if that means just driving to a gun store, filling out an application, and passing the national instant criminal background check thingy. hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Yea, retards who sport mullets can totally articulate arguments. I particularly enjoy the pierced nipples. What fucking industry would China have without us? What toxic, plastic, shit covered toys would be rice fodder? They might as well be our butt buddies. Never gonna happen, I know, but might as well....Just because we found a sugar momma is no reason to hate. The worst thing that will happen to us, is sharing that superpowernessability, short of all out war, resulting in ones total destruction, and reorganization to the bottom of the totem pole.
You damn straight bitches...you think that a coastal industrious region such as china can take us on? So be it, we may not be able to beat them on their home soil, but I don't think the US will be invading mother fucking China any time soon. As was said before, they need us as much as we need them. That may change, but not any time soon. What would happen to China today, if they didn't have American materialism to prop them up? USA!
Absolute bullshit. Most street cops are required to go to the range and qualify what, 3 times a year? Id be willing to bet i could hit a target at 50 yards with my semen more accurately than your standard traffic cop with a pistol, let a alone a rifle they have to dust off out of the trunk. Having cops is great--it instills fear in the morons. But while waiting those 15-20 minutes for police to show up at a place they are not stationed at, I'd like to be able to defend myself, my family, and my best friend standing next to me.Dilbert_X wrote:

Great so, you defend the right of the killer and the killed to have guns. Your argument is that everyone should have a gun(including the killer) because then he will only kill 3 or 4 people before an armed citizen takes him down.
So why not restrict access to the guns in the first place. Then those 3 people who got shot while our hero is taking out their gun don't get shot in the first place?
That's all we need. Some granny with a few hours on the range taking out a .45 and blasting into a crowd of people in total chaos and confusion. Yeah she might hit him, yeah she might miss. The bullet might go through the killer and thro some kids head.
There are reasons why police do firearms training. When to take a shot. Is their a backdrop etc. Years of training discipline a cop to make all those decisions in a split second. Would make a bad situation worse. So what if some of the armed citizens dint see the shooter, but wipe out their gun and shot the first person they see with a gun in an adrenalin filled moment..............which could be another citizen with a gun.
The average person is ruled by adrenalin, like it or not. Adrenalin makes people make quick uninformed decisions..........add a gun to that and a chaotic situation and you got problems.
I can see the carnage now if lowings America actually existed. Untrained citizens whipping their guns out en mass in a crowd. Not going to end well.
Right, about those "cowboy" states. Without knowing any specific numbers off the top of my head, as I recall states with the most retarded (read: more liberal, strict gun control) laws are New York, New Jersey, California, and Illinois. All mostly democratic states. States with cities featuring the highest crime. New York, Camden, LA, Chicago. I am pulling this out of my head, if anyone gives a fuck as to actually look up internet numbers and put me in my place, please do so.JahManRed wrote:

I know more people who have never seen a gun up close then people who have seen one let alone shot it. I live in the northeast btw.
So you all get lumped into the same group. Reminds me of the Neil Young Song, "Alabama" where he sings about the rest of the US states dragging Alabama out of its racist dark ages. Perhaps the states with tighter gun laws need to start making noise regarding the "cowboy" states.
Meh, just remembered specific quotations, in my personal library, from certain Japanese admirals that they "preferred the taste of Australian flesh" as opposed to other types of human flesh that didnt match their delicate pallets. On topic, no matter what shit the entire rest of the world tries to come up with, I have no doubts that when pushed again, the United States will band together and absolutely fuck up whatever anyone tries to throw against us. We may have some incredible infighting going on right now, but we have the resources and resolve to match what any single entity can try to to combat us with. What we may have trouble with, however, is other nations unified against us. Oh nuclear MAD might be hard to recover from too, maybe why we have some conspiracy laden SEAL teams so close to Pakistani nuclear weapons? As if they fell into the wrong hands, we would just sit there and tremble about what the bad guys would do with them? The US will be a global superpower for at least the next century, and for anyone on our side, it will be an exciting 100 years at that.

Totally, no hacker anywhere, has ever hacked an US gov't sanctioned web service or whatever the fuck you wanna call it. How could this possibly go wrong? "insert too lazy to look up how to insert roll eye smiley" I see no ulterior motives here, at least they "supposedly" need our permission to look up SSN for specific purposes.
Everyone back then was listening in on everyone elses RADIO communications. We knew it, they knew. All sides tried all different types of cryptic comms.
Also I must add, how were we (Humans, Einstein, every single scientist with any involvement of the manhattan project) supposed to know that nuclear radiation would cause debilitating cancers well after the detonation? I mean for jesus titty fucking christ sakes, they had advertisements for doctors preferring certain brands of cigarettes and beers plastered all over piccadilly circus? Why didn't they surrender within 48 hours of a city being decimated in 48 seconds? Nuking someone is not anything any human being wishes on another, but it is our history, we did it, its done with, they really didn't give us much other choice (IMO). Maybe from your point of view the United States is the epitome of all evil, but the rest of us try to make our lives better for our kids. Mess with the bull you get the horns, no? Do as I say, not as I do? In the end, I want a better tomorrow. At the same time, I realize that I'm a white, suburban born American. I like to think that life on Earth is much better with an American global superpower than one with countries, theoretically, as Japan that physically rapes and pillages for the betterment of their people? Tomato tomatoe i guess, or some weird southern hemisphere gravitational pull.
How the hell were we fighting over coal and oil Dil? We cut them off, so they went elsewhere and raped and pillaged for it. We buy our shit, and we even pay for the sex. Its good for both economies and moral. The Japanese RAPED AND PILLAGED. tens of millions dead...but i guess your right, the US is just downright evil. I wish we left australia for them, so theyd have you bent over a rice bowl in a hello kitty schoolgirl outfit getting octodildo'd, blasting lady gaga. And you wouldn't even have to pay for it!

I find it quite comical i mean, who would be controlling China now if we hadn't taken on Japan? People talk so much shit on us, but when push comes to shove, we are one of few countries that our people will surrender their citizenship to go fight for another country because it's the right thing to do. Groups like the Flying Tigers and The Eagle Squadron---volunteers. I can see where we started to have a little too much influence in Chinas region for their comfort, but lets face it. USA is such a huge contributor to economic growth for China. Would it really benefit them to be our superior? Why can't we all just be friends?
Probably to have some sort of defense in the pacific approach to our western coast? Thats not good enough for you? We strictly had our defensive naval power out there as a giant middle finger to Japan? Oh yes yes we cut off their oil supply so we knew theyd attack us. You always spout off with this bullshit....most people here just do not give a flying fuck about nuking Japan....sure it was a horrible thing, and we all wish to never see another nuclear attack on our planet, but the mentality of the time was fuck em. The things they and the Germans did were such a disgusting stain on humanity. They attacked us, and then those dumbass nazis had the moxy to declare war on us. I'd be willing to bet if we had one ready soon enough, we would have nuked Germany too. It was a global war with millions of lives lost on all sides....and so what if it was a bit of muscle flexing as well. We dont care. We may rape and pillage other peoples economies, but the Japanese raped and pillaged the actual peoples around them. On such a horrible scale as well. Oh yea the outcome also gave us control of all the worlds oceans so an absolute victory was very necessary to secure our place at the top of the totem pole.Dilbert_X wrote:

Thin wings are not that implausible, look at Lockheed's F-104. The stealth designs are all similar because simply, it's the best technology we came up with, and it effin works. Basic shapes are limited to diamond type, blended body/wing, no right angles, etc. The question is whether or not they have an effective RAM, of which i have no clue. Can't really tell if it has thrust vectoring, wouldn't think so with canards, i mean come on the human pilot is the limiting factor for G tolerance. Modern fighters can withstand much more than our bodies.
Also it's about time the world showed up with some contenders in this arena. F-22 is what, ~25 yrs old?

correctomundo. At the precise time that Hitler gave the order to switch from bombing tommy airfields and factories to terror bombing london, tommy had fewer than 100 serviceable fighters to defend with. Jerry leadership, being the tactical geniuses they were, allowed the RAF time to get their factories churning out more planes. They literally had the RAF by the balls, within days of defeat. They just assumed that they had stockpiles of fighters, confused by tommy's ability to utilize radar and vectoring what few fighters they had directly to the incoming bomber streams. Only a handful of fighters would take off from many different fields, and would join up over england, so it appeared that whole squadrons remained. If only Jerry knew how close he was.....Dilbert_X wrote:

Hurri, I do not mean to sound condescending, but please do more research, like alot more, whatever it is you choose. You need to find out as much info as possible from all angles and sources possible, not what randomns on forums think. In Air Force ROTC, you def. have to take the ASVAB or whatever the hell its spelled. How do you think they determine what you are capable of doing? Not your choice, what they think your capable of within the capabilities you portray and shit. Yes you can do whatever you want if you do well enough, but only if you consistently score in the top 1% of everything you do. Take Embry-Riddle AFROTC for example, say they are giving out 50 pilot slots to Detachment 157 this year. well, you have a couple hundred people in your class, that means only the highest 50 get pilot slots. The highest scoring individual will get first pick, and he'll likely pick fighters. So will the next dude. It goes down the list until all slots are taken. Their are not 50 fighter slots, maybe 8-10. then a number of bomber, transport, etc. If you weren't high enough in your class to get a slot, congrats you are given a desk, or maybe you can be some kinda aircrew, which isn't bad, just not what you wanted. All im trying to say is, whatever you do, give it 110%, all the way. Yes you have to take the test.

call me old fashioned, but i dont give a rats ass about the fallout, as long as they dont throw rocks our way. They can fight it out amongst themselves. im pretty much an asshole, i know, but i really dont care. And i REALLY dont want to pay off the taliban, but fuck it, since so much money is being given out left and right, we might aswell allocate some of our recently printed cash to them, hey instead of healthcare for americans it can be healthcare for afghanis.Harmor wrote:
Ok then lets pull out and deal with the fallout afterward then?mcjagdflieger wrote:
Ok, but do you think they're capable of governing themselves? I sure as shit don't. Theres no reason why we should be in another country for this long, wasting our resources helping them. What are they gonna do, start an industrial revolution there? It came, and went right past them. We need to move on. Not pick up for the slackers.
Its either we go there to win the war and rebuild that country or get the fuck out.
Article (of course i cant find it) says it would only cost a few hundred million to pay em off.
