533 divided by 2 = 266. DDR2 ram = Double Data Rate. Which means your ram runs twice as fast when put into dual channel mode.
Dual channel has absolutely nothing to do with DDR. Dual channel is basically double the bandwidth.
Double Data Rate means that the frequency of the memory is multiplied by two. Dual channel on the other hand, increases the bandwith of the memory. Two TOTALLY different things.
You can have ONE stick of DDR-400, and it will RUN at 200Mhz. You pair it with another stick and run it in dual channel - guess what? It's still running 200Mhz. DDR-400 is called DDR-400 because it's, well, DDR! The memory is only running at 200Mhz, but since it's DOUBLE data rate, it's effectively running at 400Mhz.
And lets examine the "name," shall we? "Double Data Rate" means that the Rate the RAM sends Data is Doubled.
Claymores DON'T count.

This is what I believed as well. Unfortunately, I have tried numerous times and it shows I have "0" titan air drops. I haven't yet reached 10 IAR, however I have done maybe 5-6 and my stats still show "0" under Details > TitantF-voodoochild wrote:

Well I did EXAHUSTING trials disabling certian settings, changing resolutions. NOTHING cvhanged. Seemed to be just the game.
I even droped the res to 1280x1024, 2xaa - same 40fps avg, highs in the 70s.

ASS.
Settings:
All HIGH
4xaa/16xaf
1680x1050
Any ideas? Granted I have everything on high, 4xaa and 16xaf. I'm averaging 25fps. My system specs should be sufficient enough to avg 50-65 fps. My ram peaks at 53% and my CPU at 50%
I have tried running it on single core . . . It was worse.
I have tried turning off EAX like someone suggested - No change.
I have tried changing from X-Fi/ULTRA to Harware/High - No Change
I have defragged.
The beta didn't run this bad. The demo ran worse than the beta, but ran better than this.
I normally average 60FPS in BF2 with the same exact settings.
Specs
AMD Opteron 170 @ 2.5
7950GX2 - 91.47
2GB DDR500
WD Raptor
X-Fi Xtreme Music
Any ideas? I'm going to try a different driver, but I'm open to suggestions.

Unfortunately, I did not know about the whole "Rank Restricted = Noob Only" servers (censored rank symbol). I thought Rank Restricted = Unranked.
My Fault.
My Fault.
Just want to let you guys know that by checking the 'Ranked' server filter - it does NOT query ONLY ranked servers. Unranked servers are still shown on the browser. Please be aware of which server you are entering. This could very well be why you are not ranking up.
No it does't. You're allowed up to four account names on one e-mail address. Most likely it's one CD-Key per e-mail address.lowkee wrote:
I got my retail copy today and signed in using one of my two BF2 logins, played for a few mins, then realized that I was using the non-veteran-reserved login.

"This cd-key has already been registered using a different account"
So, beware! UNLIKE BF2, BF2142 only allows a single login to be used.
Make sure you use the correct one or you will be screwed out of your veteran status and your promotions.

If a nick is in use in BF2, then you CANNOT use it in BF2142 YET! The whole idea of this program is that people can reserve their current nickname in BF2142. So if someone has the name you want in BF2, then you cannot get it in BF2142 until it comes out in stores. Then it's a free for all.
Clear now?
If you have an account name in BF2, NO-ONE can steal it. Only YOU have access to that account unless they know your passowrd.
I was wondering, if I used my nick which I registered for the veteran program in the beta would it basically ruin what the veteran program is really about? Instead of giving me the rank up, unlock, taunt, and vet symbol in the retail game, would I instead be receiving this in the beta, which once the stats get reset, the veteran program will go bye-bye for that nick?
Any help is appreciated.

So I figured since almost every other question has been asked, why not stats/award questions? After all this is a stats site :p So after seeing a few shots of the game, I see obvious changes, however a SS can't tell us everything. One of the first things I noticed is now Promotions, Awards, and Dog Tags appear bottom center of the screen rather than popping out from the minimap.
I also saw that EA decided to let us know what the reuirements are for each award as well as progress bars in BFHQ. I thought that was pretty awesome! No more guessing or reading python files, w00t ()! I also noticed that they seemed to use graphs as well on that stats page . . . looks quite familiar too! (Go Chuy!!).
Anyhoo, onto the questions .
General
1.) Do promotions & awards still play a nifty tune? With the whole "You have been recommended for an award"? If so, is the new tune the same? Or has it changed? If it's changed - for the better or worse?
2.) What about dog tags? If you knife someone, does it play a tune as well? Or just show the dog tags bottom center? Still on the dog tags, does BFHQ have a sort of "dog tag gallery", containg all the dog tags you've acquired?
Ranks
1.) I'm assuming the ranks are "futuristic" ranks, correct? For instance, it's not the "accurate" ranks of the Army, as in BF2, is it? I did see there was Private and Corporal . . . but does it go off coruse to some ficticious ranking "names"?
2.) I heard in some video interview that there's something like 40+ ranks!? I'm not sure if they list all the ranks in BFHQ, however I was just wondering if anyone in the beta knows if this is correct?
3.) I also saw in some SS someone posted that the first rank is reached at 40 points. I was wondering if someone has the break down for the first few ranks and their requirements. (I'm going to assume that you get to rank up quite a few times within your first few hundred points.)
Awards
1.) Just to confirm, BFHQ now shows the actual requirements for each and every award, correct?
2.) I saw in a screenie that there are Medals, Badges, Ribbons, and Pins. I'm assuming this is a new type of award representing uniform pins? Do these contain unique requirements? Or are these received by being promoted (rank pins)?
3.) From the screen shot I saw of the medals, there seemed to be quite a few of them (much more than BF2). Is this the same with the Badges, Ribbons, and newly found pins?
4.) I've read that there will be more than 115 awards! If one would be kind enough (or bored enough) could you supply us with a count of how many of each award there are? (in this format):
Medals = ?
Badges = ?
Ribbons = ?
Pins = ?
5.) From the reqiurements shown; are they as ludicrous as in BF2 (before 1.3)? Would you mind posting an example of both a generic requirement for a medal, badge, ribbon, and/or pin - as well as one of the most advanced requirememnts for a medal, badge, ribbon, and/or pin.
6.) Are the badges themed the same? Meaning kit badges, vehicle badges, etc. Is there any badge which is of a new category (not kit, vehicle, or teamwork badge)? Same for medals, ribbons and pins?
Phew, that was a lot to type! With that said, it's also a LOT to answer! Don't feel obligated to answer all the questions. If you only want to answer one or two, that's fine! Once you answer, I'll edit this post with the answer as well as the contributors name who answered it. In the end, we can have our own little Stats/Award FAQ going on (I will edit the questions so they fit the answers better).
Yes, I know the game does not revolve around stats/awards. I know it's just a bunch of digital digits and pixels. However, this is something people have not asked yet, and therefore it's an open topic for discussion! I also realize that this tuning beta isn't for questions such as this, but rather for testing game stability; but we all can have a little bit of fun, can't we?
Finally, Since I can't provide much for answering the questions, what I will do is + karma the people who answer. For those that answer the more longer, tedious questions (Such as award count and/or award req for basic and advanced) I'll obviously give you more than just +1 karma! Though Karma doesn't mean all that much, at least it's something! don't forget, you're also helping out the community !

FFS Core 2 Duo's ARE DUAL CORE.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:
FFS were not talking about dual cores... were talking about core 2 duos... and dual core cpus are for the future
And to all the people, including the "I have an electrical engineering degree" dual core processors ARE beneficial. Learn what DUAL CORE actually means. It's NOT to processors. It's two CORES, one PROCESSOR. Therefore, it doesn't matter if there is only one bus to transmit data, as it only NEEDS one bus.
I can play Battlefield 2, render a DVD, and listen to music without a hitch thanks to dual core. Let me see you do that on any single core processor.
Just because an app s multi-threaded, doesn't mean it won't be beneficial. I can run one core DEDICATED to BF2, while the other handles any background services or other programs.
Not only that, but Conroe has a brand new architecture. Basically, a Conroe at 2.4Ghz, ($350) is equal to an AMD at 2.8Ghz ($1,000). Now let's take that 2.4 and overclock it a little . . . are you starting to get the picture?
I think it's time some of you guys research what Core 2 Duo's are . . .
Kontrol,
I looked at your stats and noticed you, as well would have been awarded them at least twice as well.
Do they show up during the first time you acquire it? Or only the following times?

I was just wondering if these medals are awarded in game to the player, as in the whole drum roll deal with the medal popping out of the mini-map.
A few weeks ago, I originally read that they just appear in one's stats as does the Army service medals and ribbons, however I just saw on a forum someone posting a screenshot showing him being awarded the Meritorious Service medal in game. HOWEVER it was his second time recieving the medal . . . if that matters any.
Soo, does anyone know for a fact if these two are awarded in-game?

It's happened here numerous times. It likes to do it to me when I have 60-80 command points (before 2x), my team is winning, and there's only 20 tickets left. Probably could have had expert command by now .
It also happened when I went for my Expert AT and Exp AT specialist badge. I had 43 kills, only needed 1 more for the expert specialist, and the server crashes with 23 tickets left.
Meh, just gotta move on.

(-BS-) 24/7 Karkand Server
So, I used to play on this server way back when, and I THOUGHT it was a good server.
Tonight me and my dad decided to give the game a go, trying to get him a certain award. So I remembered this server, and decided to hop in it.
All was well for, oh . . . one round?
Then all of a sudden the admin (-BS-)JonTheDestroya decided to go on a kicking rampage, kicking everyone for bunny hopping. I thought it's rather fair as it's his server, and bunny hopping MAY **** some people off. However, it was no issue as neither of us bunny hop. I might jump once in a while whilst getting shot for the first time, but that's it. My dad; no chance in hell. He can't even find the jump key
So players start to get kicked left and right, and within about 15 minutes, about 4-6 players were gone.
The second round starts.
We rush the hotel, and are PRONE inside of the fenced in area, each in a corner We downed about a total of 3-4 guys. Next thing you know, my dad gets kicked for guess what? Bunny hopping.
Now, my dad is 57 years old. He doesn't even have the coordination to play with WASD, instead he has to use the arrow keys, and just to SWITCH WEAPONS, takes him about a full 10-20 seconds (uses mouse wheel). I think the only time my dad's EVER used the jump key was to hop over sand bags. Hell, he gets confused on going from one spawn point to the next.
So I question the admin. I said somethign along the lines of:
Me: Why'd you kick someone for bunny hopping when they NEVER bunny hopped?
Me: You might as well kick me for it to, as I do it all the time :-/
Me: /sarcasm"
(I may have thrown the word *** in the first line . . . I don't really remember, however if I did, I'm sure it hurts his feelings, especially from some random player over the interweb )
I don't get an answer for about a good minute or so. As soon as I killed him, he answers "Talk smack like that again, and it won't be taken lightly"
I then stated I don't really care as one out of over 900 servers won't hurt my feelings, especially with how you're adminstrating the server. Then he kills me 4 times in a row. Nothing happens. I kill him once, and he says "READ THE RULES" - Don't ask why . . . I could already gather from the 7+ kicks that he doesn't like bunny hopping.
Next thing you know, as one would expect; I get kicked for "Excessive Team killing" . . . I must say, I was rather disappointed that it wasn't for bunny hopping. By the I had no negative scores, hell the round just started.
Some of you guys might say get a life it's a game; or "I play on the server all the imte and it pwns!". Like I said so have I, and have never had a problem; until tonight. I've always have heard stories of admins who think they're king **** becuase they have "super-powers". I myself have never ventured into one . . . until tonight.
I wish I would have taken screens, but I didn't think of it at the time.
Also, just to give you a little background; my dad has been playing the game for a year now, logged 350ish hours, and has only just got promoted to FirstSgt. Not to mention his K/D ratio is .79 (8,000 kills; 10,000 deaths) and his SPM is 1.00; In all honesty if he WAS a bunny hopper, he'd deffintly have a better K/D ratio or SPM; AT LEAST.
So just beware; if you want to play 24/7 karkand; you might want to skip this one . . . at least if (-BS-)JonTheDestroya is on. Then again, you should join when he's on, just to see his awesome administrating in action
Just needed to vent

And I reckon your wrong because that would interfere with traditional gameplay, which is what ranked servers are all about. Besides the fact that bots are easy, coop isn't allowed as a ranked server not because of padding, but becuase it breaks the standard. EA's standard is all the normal maps being played under conquest. Period.FFLink13 wrote:
co-op isnt alowd for ranked servers as bots suck and would provide easy kills.
the "taking away of vehicles" or infantry only mode would not give anyway of stat padding that i can think of, so i reckon it will be available for ranked servers
Infantry only WILL disrupt this standard and therefore it will not be in a ranked server. Also, as I pointed out, there is no "0" for the variable status, which means that it is null and void for the server they're running.
Not to mention that the whole Battlefield series is "what it is" becuase of all the different vehicles, from land, sea, and air. If you want just infantry, there's a hundred other games out there for simple infantry battles.
IMO, the whole idea of Infantry Only in BF2 (Or any battlefield sereis for that matter) is stupid, but hey, whatever floats your/their boat . . .
Guys . . . Notice on the game monitor server vars section EVERY variable which is important to a server has either a "1" or a "0". Notice how bf2_infantryonly has NOTHING, just like "bf2_coop____" is completely blank. Therefore, this may lead one to believe bf2_infantryonly may be a new game type.
What you are all speculating is that one can turn vehicles on or off. This would only be the case if there were a "0," as the variable status. Leaving it blank explains that the variable or setting is null/void in the scenario the server is running, which is conquest.
In any event, whether it's a new game mode, or some other setting, I'm 99% positive it is NOT going to be allowed for ranked servers, just as coop isn't allowed.
Also, what you are seeing is NOT for BF2:SF. Notice the team1 and team2 variables. It specifically says "US" and "MEC". In order for it to be SF it would have to say "SEAL" vs "MECSF". So if this is a new map, it's for vanilla BF2.

Meh, it was really short. In all honesty, after playing, when it ended, I was like; that's it? It WAS good, but I just wis there was more . It only took one day to complete it

yes they. WOrk out how much teamkills/damage and add it up and thats how many more points you would have if you didn't tk anyone. On BF2 player it shows the points that you gave missed out on because of tk'sStumanbmx wrote:
nope, your negative points in a round will not subtract from your score
A negative round score does not, in any way, affect your global score. It's simply a deficit that you have to over come in that round for points TO count.
As far as the "counting" of team kills, etc goes; that's all it is. A count. I I teamkilled 100 times, that doesn't mean that I lost 400 points from my Global score. It means I simply killed 100 teamates; that's all.
Voodoovaj is a member of DICE, as he used to answer SOME questions over at the TBF2 forums. This DOES look good . . . very good!
WTF is BF2_Plasma setting? That's a new one as well.

Just went 27-2 with the Frogfoot :p. Didn't see the thread, or I would have screen capped. Next time . . . Next time!
