*topic* I mean, have you ever been playing, and all of a sudden, the drums go off and you just got an award and you weren't trying to get it or even thinking about.

And please, don't say you got a purple heart without warning. No one "goes" for the purple heart.

Yeah, either the marksman or the staff officer ribbon. The Staff officer ribbon was the first ribbon I got. I remember I was on Sharqi and I was trying to cap a flag and all of a sudden the drums went off...I was very suprised...

Not lately. Ever since I found this site, which was last year, I've always been aiming for awards. I just recently got vet helo, and I had been going for it for a while. My next awards will be a promotion, then expert sniper, then expert assault, followed by the sharpshooter medal.

actually i can admit that i did go for the purple heart when i started out with this game, i thought it was a good thing to have. lol me = noob

No not really. I did get the SF armor ribbon(the name escapes me at the moment) without reallying trying to get it. All the other medals/badges/ribbons I was actually trying to get so it didn't surprise me when I did get them.

Today I was commanding on a Wake server and I got: Air Defense Ribbon, Basic Command, Basic Air Defense, Veteran Air Defense, Expert Air Defense, and Staff Officer Ribbon. I was just sitting in the AA on the American Carrier and the shit was going crazy all round. I forgot that when you're in the AA they count towards AA kills...oh well

In the beginning days i got some awards which i didn't even know what they were. i thought WOW nice purple medal i must have done something right. yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah right. but well and some kit awards, didn't know what to do for 'em. or Combat Action Ribbon. didn't expect that at the time.
