What's the loading button and why would it be loading halfway through the round?
I prefer jumping on top of enemy tanks and taking a ride with them. I've killed a few enemies riding prone on top. You just gotta watch out for friendlies with sraw, eryx, and c4.
Contra?
Edit: I guess I didn't finish the rules of the thread. If the answer is Contra, then I think it gives you 100 lives or something like that. I can't remember though. Also, that's the only cheat code I've ever known. Sorry, can't continue thread.

I was driving to work and I saw this for sale and I immediately thought Operation Road Rage.
Does this explain why I sometimes have great rounds when I have close to 100ms ping as opposed to 40ms ping?Lime wrote:

BTW, I haven't tried this yet.
I first played counter strike source a couple of months ago. It was included in my half-life 2 package that I bought a while ago, but for some reason I never felt the urge to play cs:s until recently. I won't agree that it's the worst game ever, but it's definitely not bf2. It has its moments of fun, but I suck at it, which makes it less fun for me. When you suck at the game, you get killed right away and have to sit out for several minutes before a new round starts. So if I sit down to play for 30 minutes, my actual playing time is probably 5 minutes, if even that.
On the other hand, if I'm sitting at home with a few minutes to kill, I can quickly load up cs:s and play a round before bf2 finishes loading the server list. I may exaggerating, but it sure feels like that sometimes. So I usually play cs:s whenever I don't the time to commit to a bf2 game and I just want a gaming "quickie".
I have noticed in cs:s that the aiming and accuracy is awkward. Since I die a lot, I have plenty of time to observe other players (in first person perspective) and I have noticed that they can kill other players even though the crosshairs were not aimed on the enemy. Maybe it's lag or maybe my eyes were too slow to notice the headshot. I don't know. Just my 2 cents.
In summary, it has its moments of fun, but for me it just doesn't compare to the complete bf2 experience.

We'd all be playing bf2 on singleplayer mode.

I asked this question because I've seen it the last two times I've filled up my tank. I'm assuming they did it to keep the air conditioning running on a very hot and humid day.
I'm just wondering how dangerous it really is. Then there's the cell phone danger as well.

I'm just curious because I've always heard that it's dangerous yet I've seen a lot of people do this lately.
I have an Isreali paratrooper bag. It's my favorite bag I've ever owned.
Just last night I joined a server late in the game.....maybe about 20 tickets left.....and there were no squads on our team at all. Just 15 or so lone-wolfers. Weird. Usually you see at least a couple of 1-person squads so these players can at least request supplies, uav, etc.......which is also weird joining a team that has 3 squad leaders with no squad members. Hmmm, which squad do I choose? Or do I create my own?
I agree that teamwork has gotten worse since squad hopping went away.

I tried searching but didn't see that this poll has been done yet. If there's already a poll on this then it can be closed or deleted.

Roger that.
Has anybody used one of these? It was one of the silliest things I've ever seen.
Last night my teammate got kicked for baseraping when he was trying to blow up enemy assets. There were no other flags and he was running around by the artillery killing everyone that ran up the hill to take him out. That's self-defense, not baseraping. I was there with him as support so I could give him more ammo. He was trying to take out enemy assets (perfectly honorable) and the enemy came to him so he had no choice but to kill them in self-defense (perfectly honorable). Then he got kicked for baseraping the uncap. That's lame.
Anyway, I only have a problem with baseraping when it happens to me

Not to make light of the situation because I'm serious about this question but does anybody know the significance of the dates of recent terrorist attacks?
9/11 - New York
3/11 - Madrid (912 days after 9/11 which is 911 days between the two dates)
7/11 - Mumbai, India (NO 7-eleven jokes please!)
Then there's the black sheep that doesn't fit the pattern:
7/7 - London
I'm just wondering if there is any cultural or religous significance to these numbers and dates.
----------------
But no matter the significance, it's still a sad day when innocent people are targeted by cowardist terrorists. I became friends with some people from India years ago and thoroughly enjoyed their company. They were nice, humble, and had a good sense of humor. May God bless the victims and their families.

Roger that. I think he meant conventional vs conventional, we would be able to defeat any country. Whereas, weaker forces would have to resort to WMD to defeat our forces using conventional weapons. I think that's what he meant but I could be completely wrong.Havazn wrote:
Well it was in response to the other guy's comment that the US would be able to defeat any country with just conventional weapons. My point wasn't to say the US should disarm the nukes, its to say they can't for that exact reason you state.
Anyway, like it's been said before, we need to have the deadliest weapons to protect ourselves against anything the enemy is capable of getting their hands on.
By the way, not to be anal but there's a misspelling in the thread title that's been driving me nuts because it's at the top of every page. It's "brief" not "breif".

I don't understand your point. You expect us disarm our nukes while the enemy will always find ways to get their hands on some? The US does not take a knife to a gunfight.Havazn wrote:
Yes, the US would be subject to enemy nukes, hence they would NOT be able to defeat any country with simply conventional weapons. They would not be able to stand up against the enemy that could destroy every city.

edit. I meant second last.
That's the problem. One day we're not doing enough to help around the world and another day we're doing too much. It's a lose-lose situation.

I got booted from a knife/pistol server for using a pistol. Apparently, they changed the rules to knife/paddles but I didn't see any messages regarding this rule change, especially when the name of the server is "knife/pistol only". I was wondering why it was so quiet with no guns.
I don't have a problem with server rules as long as I know what they are and that the admins are consistent.

First off, somebody gave me a negative karma and just said "f-ing spammer" and didn't leave their name. Oh well. It's not like karma affects my self-esteem. I guess I deserve it for breaking the spamming rule. There's no need to use anonymous profanity though.
Bubbalo, I was just so sick of everybody tearing down our soldiers every chance they get. Just because I didn't express my own views in my own words at the time doesn't mean I'm not capable of doing so. You can learn a lot from other people, especially if you listen more than you talk.
Now back to the topic,
I doubt US soldiers like killing people. I've never been in the military so my opinion is lacking firsthand experience. But given what I know about people in general, it's pretty obvious that soldiers don't like killing people any more than cops, fbi, or even civilians like killing people. If soldiers enjoyed killing people and enjoyed war, then I think there is something wrong with them.
I don't know a lot about military training and philosophy but someone earlier mentioned how they are trained to kill, which makes perfect sense to me. It's either kill or be killed. I've never killed anyone and I doubt I would enjoy it, but if it's between me and the enemy, I would have to choose to take out the enemy.
I appreciate all those who have served and are currently serving in the armed forces. It's all-volunteer military and they have sacrificed and put their lives in danger whether they agreed with the war or not. That takes guts. They are better men than I am. I am so proud of them. There may be a bad egg here or there just like in every neighborhood around the world, but in general they are heroes. I am raising my son to honor and support our military heroes rather than degrade them. Whether you agree with the war or not, you can always support the troops by shaking their hand and thanking them for their service or sending them care packages, etc. To all those here in the military........Thank you for your service!
