Patch 1.2 stinks. The PKM is so insanley powerful everyone uses it, and you can't survive without it. The laying down and getting up takes forever, and the game just isn't as fun anymore! Change it back to 1.12, EA, I beg you!!!!
So let me get this strait. Without a shadow of a doubt, you'll have to buy Euro force? And, why in the world did they call it a "Booster Pack" instead of an "Expansion Pack"?
Agreed. Actually, I'd have to say their being in first is a negative thing. lol, no, I'm not jealous. I'm just saying, playing BF2 for 1,700 hours is a bit nutty.
I need some more info on BF2:EF. Is it free? If not, how much will it cost? Just generally, what can you tell me about BF2 EF?????
But what about "Enemy Wild Geese Spotted." I've tried spotting the wild geese, but it doesn't work. WHAAA!!!
I have to admit with you in almost every respect, and you put together your statement very well. Bravo. But, remember, in many maps, when you respawn as AT, the tank is right infront of you, aiming his slimy barrel down your slimy throat. Then, you're dead. Usually, when this happens, you can only get one shot off before you're dead. It's unnavoidable.Sud wrote:
All the real world semantics aside, this is how it goes down in BF2.
Vehicles on a map are a team resource. How this resource is used is up to the team, however, the tank's main use is a hand in hand motion with the team to steadily gain ground. Someone in a tank is going to be greater than someone running around on the ground, as they are utilizing a resource.
Vehicles exist to work hand in hand with ground infantry to facilitate a steady movement into the enemy base. Without armor support, many battles would be endless stalemates. This, in my opinion, would be a hell of a lot more lame than the odd spawn camp, which is usually necessary to actually capture flags on maps like Kark (prevent the next wave of defenders from spawning so you can get the flag captured and over with).
Could you imagine trying to cross from the train accident over into the MEC compound if armor didn't exist? The snipers would have you picked off before you even stepped into the water. This is why armor exists. It gives both the attacking and defending forces the ability to breach the enemy lines, protected from conventional weapon fire. Games with no good armor are horrible to play in, the last one I remember was literally two sides on either side of the river at train accident, just holding on and mass deaths each side due to the constant lameass artillery barrages. You need to keep the game in motion.
Now, I'm about to touch on the true source of the problem, which is that Anti-Tanks are severely underplayed. People will simply not switch to this class, no matter how many times they die to a tank. They'd rather run around tubing people and just take the odd death to the tank, which in turn, leads to tank whoring, as you call it. Know this that Anti-Tank is exceptionally good at what it does. I guarantee you that if you actually aim at the WEAK points on an APC, it's dead in 2 hits, 3 for a tank. If you know how to work the terrain, you can often nail them twice before they can even realize your position. Alone, I know I can turn back any tank and make him run for repairs, encountered in numbers of more than one, anti tanks will make absolute short work of any armor.
The reason why? Anti-Tanks receive absolutely no acknowledgement of their contribution toward the team. A single good anti tank will push the enemy armor out and away from your ground troops. It may not be enough to kill the tank, but it forces it back, and allows your troops to gain ground without the tank's interference (or at least at a minimal). What does Anti-Tank get? Well if they land the 3 or so rounds, they may get a kill. Whoopty frigging doo. Hardly worth it for the deaths you may take due to the tank's teammates raping you, or the times when the terrain isn't going to support a stealthy approach and you take a death doing damage. This is why Anti-Tanks should be considered a SUPPORT CLASS, and should receive TEAMWORK POINTS for every rocket they successfully land on an enemy tank. Something like 2 teamwork points (give it a category called Anti-Vehicle) would suffice. That way, you can actually see what Anti-Tanks are actually worth anything to their team.
The difference a single good Anti makes to his team, who wouldn't have a single one otherwise, is undeniable. Suddenly that spawn camping tank has run his dumb ass off to square, not to return until he thinks the coast is clear.
lol, you guys are nutbags.
Check this out. Play it at the fastest "replay speed". I made it, and I'm proud of it. lol.

Agreed.Ryan_Mercury wrote:
Anyone can get scores like that with the grenade launcher dude, it's not hard. But I ain't gonna start a flame war over this, whatever floats your boat. Have fun.
Does anyone know where I could get the Battlefield 1942 music for my comp? It's awesome. I wish they had it in BF2 and BFV. *TSK* Well, if you know where I could get it on the net, please tell!
lol, you're probably upset because Zimmer had an idea that actually made some since. But I really like the other guys idea, it would be cool if two people had to operate the tank. Like he said, it would make tanks "more n00bish". Tanks should also take one less SRAW/ERYX from the front, back, and side. Then it would make it more realistic.dobbs wrote:
You know what i think would be a great BF2s improvement? Zimmer92 banned from ever posting again.
I hate to say it, but I'm right. A nice anti-tank missile like the SRAW or ERYX will destroy a tank in one shot. Sry, but it's true.
I'd like to tell some people what I've read and heard about tanks. In BF2, if you are in a tank, you are pretty much guaranteed of making many kills before being killed if you have any skill at all. I mean, you just sit there, watch where the enemy spawns, and shoot anything that moves. And, it takes four to five missiles to kill the tank from the front. Do you know what? In Israel, when fighting Siria, Israel has had major losses of tanks, due to anti tank hand held weaponry. (Thus, they're now relying mostly on air) You know why? Because, you fire an anti-tank shoulder launched missile at a tank, and it's dead. One shot, one kill. Period.
Now, to make it more realistic and feasable for the ant-tankers in BF2, I think that EA should make the tanks killed by three shots to the front, two to the side, and one or two to the front. And, I think that Transport and Choppers should ALWAYS explode on the first shot from a tank, APC missile, or anti-tank missile. This would make the game more fun, and more realistic. That's my vote, and I've said this before, but I just wanted to tell people how much damage an anti-tank missile can do in real life.

Now, I was playing a map in SF, (Don't remember the name, cuz i just got SF. However, I do know it was a night map.) I was using anti tank, so I had a grappling hook. There was a huge warehouse in the center of the map, and I happened to be running around killing APC's near it. The enemy had the spawnpoint inside the warehouse. Well, I was next to it, and noticed how tall it was, and thought it would be cool to go on top of it.
So, I did.
When I got there, I found that there was a sky light type thing at the top. And guess what? It was perfect for shooting through. Of course, I still had my DAO-12 (which ain't too good for long range.), but that didn't matter, cuz I had my trusty 15 round pistol. I used that thing like a maniac. It was so fun! Eventually, more dudes followed me up there, and we just pinned the guys down inside the warehouse. It was a blast. Thanks, Grappling hook. lol.

I'd like to thank you for it. Well done, and well thought out. I hate to admit it, but sometimes i'm a bunny-hopper.
You know what irratates me? Don't get me wrong, BF2 and BF2SF are great games. But I just wish they would be generally more stable. It crashes so much!
Me too! It's sooo annoying? Why can't I login? It just sits there, and never does anything.
P.S. I think the spinning of "The Green 2" has made me go nutz. Maybe epilepsy!

I agree with most of the things you said. GJ.
lol, maybe someday they will, of course, they'll have to perfect it first.
I admit there might be problems with names, but like Lazerus said, you would still have to keep your PID, ensuring that people could always identify you in a pinch.
I think that EA should enable name changing once a month, or something of that sort, in their next update. If they allowed that, no one would be able to change their name a whole bunch, and if you wanted to change your name, --say, a month after you started-- and you were a staff seargeant (And you didn't want to restart your accound since you were at a reasonably high rank.) then, you would be allowed to change your name. What do you guys think?
I think maybe it would be a cool idea, but I have to agree, noob tubers don't really need a second chance. But nice thinking.
I agree, but I think it's not too bad. In grass, though, there's virtually no way to tell 'em apart.
Simply put, Congrats, Comrade! J/K.
lol, guys, you're acting like it would destroy the whole game if you had a reticle. I think it's okay the way it is, but it would probably be okay if it had a reticle, like you said.
I agree. Mostly, I think the weapons like the L85 should be more accurate/stable and more powerful. But, You guys have all brought up good points.
I say whoever writes a funny WWII story should get it. (I have one written, even though it stinks.)
Actually, I usually run around when I'm commander. However, I don't fly or something like that. If I am commander, and I'm fighting at the same time, when someone needs something, or I know I need to do an artillary strike, I get out of the battle, and do what needs to be done.

I think that would be cool of course, but extremeley hard to perfect.
No, MetalChris, I'm just admitting that he might know more about the game than I. I'm not saying he's the best thing since sliced bread. You guys are takin' me out of context.
BTW, Instant Cereal, when I said 'you had a much lower K/D rating' I was mistaken. I was looking at another person. lol, this is nutty.

lol, why not just knife 'em? Of course, that would be nifty.
That's true. Israel uses the Desert Eagle. I'd love to see something like a Glock 18 or a 44 revolver in BF2.
FerryMan, what I meant was in a prone position firing fully automatic at 30 meters. With a weapon such as the G36C which does have decent recoil, but not tremendous recoil, while lying down a trained US soldier would be able to hit probably ten rounds out of a thirty round clip. (Not just holding down the trigger, but doing 5-7 round bursts.) In BF2 it's more like 3-5 rounds in BF2. But, I'll admit, you probably know more than I do, if you truly were in the British infantry.ferryman5330 wrote:
rotter sorry to burst your bubble, but the sa80 is far from easy handleing on full auto an taking on a target at 30 metres is a no no special forces no idea but line infantry its not done,i only time ive fired full auto is fibua an trench clearance any other times single fire.
ps 5yrs british army 2RGJ infantry.
Instant Cereal: Perhaps I shouldn't disagree with you too much since you're so much better than me, and obviously know more about the game, but remember, I'm NOT saying my opinion should be set in stone. I'm just suggesting somthing. It does not mean I demand that EA fixes everything in BF2 to my liking, it just means: I WOULD PREFER IT THIS WAY. It does not mean stubornly saying that it has to be my way. It's just an opinion, and try to remember that.
I think instead of 4 points taken away when you TK with a claymore/mine, it should be 1 or 2 points taken away.
I don't know if that would be the best idea. But, can't blame you for suggesting something.
In regards to the last four posts, I completeley agree with 'em all. I made a mistake in the poll, should have just made it yes/no, and I ALLWAYS spell [that word] wrong. See? Still can't spell it.
Well, frag grenade catch is a very suspensful game. It's a lot of fun. You never know who it's gonna blow up on...
Thor:I have to agree. But, I'm sure you'll agree since you know more than I do about guns, that A L85 can easily be fired fully automatic at an enemy at thirty meters. In this game, you have to be at ten meters or closer to do that.
BirdMan: I agree with you, but please realize, I'm not terribly upset with the way things are in this game, I just realize it would be slightly more fun and quite a bit more realistic if the guns were more accurate.
Instant Cereal: Don't use the stupid "maybe you're not good enough" thing on me. You have a MUCH lower K/D ratio than me, and are a lower rank than me. You're obviously not that much better than me, if you're better than me at all. And, Remember, think be for you start spewing forth your ignorance.
About the ulockable weapons being second choices: I don't think they should be! lol.

Well, guess what, dude. In this game, your supposed to be a soldier, not a couch patato. Come on, think before you spew forth foolishness, OK? Don't you think that the Unlockable weapon, the L85, should be more powerful than the default weapon, the AK-101? Come on. You work to unlock a gun, and then, umm, it's less powerful? What's wrong with this picture?ThomasMorgan wrote:
well theres your answer, fishbulb. none of us are well-trained woldiers. i dont ever remember going through woldier training before playing this game, do you?
I think most guns should be more powerful and/or more accurate. The L85 for instance, is actually LESS powerful than the standard MEC medic weapon. Also, the M249 SAW, G3, MP5, and [don't know about this one] DAO-12 are ridiculously innacurate. It's unnrealistic. If you were a well trained woldier in the US armed forces, you would be very accurate with a rifle/machinegun. I think that all the unlockeable weapons should be better than the standard weapons. The Chinese Spec Opps gun is just as powerful and accurate as the G36C. The G36 should be more powerful. And, the G3 should at least be CLOSE to as accurate as the M16/203. So, what do you guys think?
Yeah you're right. I agree, but don't worry, It's just a small 'ting. Not a major problem.WormGuts wrote:
This may seem petty and small. One of the things that i really liked about CS was that i could setup my profile as a left handed shooter instead of right. I really don't think that it changed the dynamics of the game any. i.e. peeking around a right corner as a left handed shooter vs. peeking around a right corner as a right handed shooter.
Since i'm left handed though it really was nice to be able to use, and see myself using a weapon the way that comes natural to me. I really doubt that this would be that large a thing to add to the game. In some way i'm really surprised that it was not a part of the original release.
Well, doesn't sound too bad, but would be irratating to the dude in the vehicle.
But, I agree. It might be fun.
Umm, you don't expect people to believe you, right? Lol, it's still kinda funny.
Yeah, I agree with all. It's very cool sounding, although I've never done it.
I totally agree. The theme was mostly funny, but I still think you guys should get rid of that stupid term.
Wow, sounds good, dude. For my next upgrad, I'm gettin' the PKM. I don't want the M95 or the Jackhammer (engeneers weapon.)
Yeah, I bet they aren't. But, they're probalby in mid to older teens. Who has that much time to waste? What does blazin have, like 900 hours in? lol. That's crazy. I think it would be a bit stupid to put in blood and gore though, BF games have always been known as being slightly cleaner than all the other trash around.FLaXCarnage wrote:

P.S. DriftX, I can't agree with you more. Your parents are your parents. No makin' them do what you want. The more our parents say no, probably the better we'll be off. Let's hear it for parents!
I don't want to pelt you with more disagreements. I think it probably wouldn't be the BEST idea, but maybe getting a silencer would be cool. Something like that.
