Well, if BF2 had blood and gore, it would probably be rated M, meaning fewer sales from the young teenager demographic.

I'm not sure how fewer sales for the young teenager demographic is a bad thing. Make it Adults only I say, maybe we can get some less noobs on there.

i find that a bit hard to believe.  no offense, but you're a cpl., your k:d kinda sucks really bad, and you havent played very much(31h).  dont get me wrong, im not calling you a n00b, im just not so sure nobody else has.
usually if you havent been called a n00b by some of the tards that play, u prolly havent played enough

AND I want some BLOOD and GORE
come on its a war game
Wouldnt shape charges be the same thing as C4?
I like the idea of hand held stingers too, but they just need to make them more effective vs planes really.
No clue what you are talking about with this 3rd thing.

I think battlefield is taking more of an America's Army more tactical team war game approach and less of a bloody deathmatch looking game.
Personally, I would just like some blood spray every now and again so I know I hit the guy. Blood stained uniforms would be a nice touch too.

Give him a break man.
But yeah BF2 is certainly a "tard rich environment"

Ofcourse thats too much to ask..*looks at expansion*

I think he´s talkiing about a target designator for laser guided bombs.

I think there is no need for additional gore in the game because I usually don´t care for those "eye catchers". In the end it would make the medics even more unrealistic (I mean did you ever heard of shock paddles that can fix an exploded head?)

True, like when a medic runs over and revives someone, all of sudden their head and arms reattach, and all the blood disappears. It would look pretty strange. Which part would you use the paddles on if the torso is blown to bits? (Imagine a medic yelling "clear" as he puts the paddles on a severed head) I guess the gore thing is kind of a personal preference. Personally I dont think it would make a huge difference either way, but gore kinda caters to the deathmatch crowd. But like I said, I'd like to see a little blood spray here and there for a little added realism and to let you know you hit someone.

I don't care about gore in a game like this, only that it would be more resource intesive on the computer.  I don't see any real need for shape charges with the C4.  But I would LOVE to have a Stinger like ManPad!

Not being called a noob does not mean you aren't one, and vice versa.

yeah, right.  like slapping a "M" rating on a game like BF2 is going to keep underaged kids from buying and playing the game.

remember "Hot Coffee?"  that was a hidden pornographic mini-game for GTA: San Andreas.  do you know who started the lawsuit against Rockstar?  a grandmother who had purchased the game for her 14 (or whatever under 17) year old grandson.  Rockstar's comment to her was that he wasn't even old enough to be playing an "M" rated game.

personally i wouldn't have minded BF2 having blood.  it's war.  it's not meant to be pretty.  if people are so easily offended by it, the developers could add an option to turn it off.

secondly, to add to the topic starter's comment, i'd like to see destructable environments ala Red Faction.  if a tank shell hits the corner of a building, i want to see bricks and mortar go flying leaving a gash in the structure.  can't find a way around a wall?  use C4 or the rocket launcher to blast your way through.

i know what the guy means about the 3rd thing, i read it in a book. it 'splashes' a laser signal onto something like a wall, meaning that the bomb picks up the disruption and uses it do guide itself. i agree with the guy about the medic thing. it would make it a lot harder to heal people if you had to find their legs for them.
i'm a corporal too, and i have about 30 hours but this is cos i go to school and i cant afford either the game or the PC to run it. chances are he just doesnt get time to practice. which makes us both noobs i guess.

it's not an original idea, by any means.  if you're interested, you should try to pick up a copy of Red Faction sometime.  i imagine you could find it in a bargain bin for $5.00 at Best Buy.

you proved my point about the age factor.  no matter what rating is branded onto a game package, kids will still manage to get their hands on it.  and mothers everywhere will still be offended by the in-game gore despite the rating.

yes, i realize that they show much worse stuff on cable tv than animated gore.  FX had the series Over There (which was the equivalent of rated "R") that had significant amounts of swearing and bloody shootouts.

have any other games followed the Red Faction destructible environment idea?

It did become a pain in Red Faction on multiplayer sometimes - just sometimes.  In a office map , all of us got rocket launchers, next thing we know there aren't and offices left.  Just craters that made it difficult to run for cover.  You Could hit a guy at his spawn point from your spawn point.  But in the end the destructible environment made breaching into a room and clearing it pretty cool.

Destructable environments would be a beautiful thing (no more infantry taking cover from helicopter missiles in a wooden shack). BUT, as far as I know no multiplayer game can handle that kind of a load. Red Faction is single player only. Bear in mind the status of each desctructable item on the entire map is something that would have to stay loaded in memory and it would clog things up like you wouldnt believe. Hopefully one day computers will be able to handle that on a server level.

What some of you people are losing sight of when giving weapon ideas is that this is a MODERN war game, this is not futuristic/fantasy warfar like a Halo 2 or Star Wars or something I mean you say you want a missle more suitable for shooting down a jet flying at 1000+ mph, its called a missle being shot for another plane flying 1000+ mph. When any military figures out a hand held surface to air missle that can go from 0 to 1000+ in under 5.0 with out killing the marksman, then I'm all for putting it in a game like this, but till then lets have fun with the game at hand.

Söldner - Secret Wars has destructible environment but you definately don´t want to try it cause even after more than a year it´s still totally bugged and as far as I know there aren´t even servers available in the US
