No, the whole point of playing is to win the map, points are incidental, and not unimportant, but shouldn't be the focus. Some of the most enjoyable maps are where the US storms the river, crushes the defenders, then rolls up the MEC from the rear, winning the map with a loss of only 60 or so tickets to the US. And yes, points will be gained if there is a determined counter-attack. I have been on the MEC side when a determined US side followed the above tactic, and it was very intense to regain our side of the river, and immensely satisfying to kick them from the east side of the river, then to fend off a determined attempt to retake our main. Those sessions will generate plenty of points, I have personally gotten over 100 points on rounds that unfold like that.
Kills give points, but so do flag neutraliztions/flag captures/and flag defends. If the flags were not important, they would have then taken them out and made Karkand a team deathmatch instead of a conquest map. I don't agree with you that no one cares whether they win or lose. If the game you enjoy playing is to be in the meat grinder of the hotel, then be my guest. As for me, the objective is to win the map, whether I command or not.
I don't intend to flame you here, just to respectfully disagree.
As for the rest of you that think like I do, if you see any {USI} on the server, then we will be doing what is required to win the map, and if you are on our side, are welcome to join, and if not, be prepared for our arrival!
