Vanilla: People getting points on Karkand.
SF: l33t people getting points on Warlord/Ghost Town.

On the BF2s US Server, we are going to try a rotation of the night maps for a couple of evenings to see if there is some popularity to those ... but, Ghost Town is definately a popular map with people who play SF.  When we did 24/7 Ghost Town, the server was populated most of the time.

Warlord is an okay map but it's overplayed. Ghost town is a bit better since you don't have the grenade and claymore spamming inside the Palace. I agree with FrankieSpankie, the best thing about the expansions is that most of the point whores are playing Vanilla. It seems that they have finally migrated to SF.

Night Flight and Gator are the best. NF doesnt have any dedicated servers, so thats an on and off map unfortunatly. But when it is running on a server, I try to get in there since in both vehicles and IO mode, it kicks ass. In proper mode, theres only 1 APC and that doesnt spawn if the SAS take the Control Tower. So you get your transports and Infantry action along with all the stealth tactics that night maps have to offer.
Gator has 3 servers running it 24/7, 2 based in Europe and are always populated (WH_Workaholics and TMP Iron Gator). FW Gauntlet is based in America, but seems to be dead these days
I have to say that Gator really does provide the best Infantry action in the game (with Great Wall in a close second), and it is also a dream for choppers if the only enemy CP left is one of the decks.

IMO, the game needs at least 1 server in the US and 1 in Europe that runs each map 24/7 to give every player their map preference all of the time.

I like Warlord and Ghost Town, although i never go inside the palace cause my computer sucks and it gets laggy.

Personally i much more prefer Surge and Mass Destruction. Those maps are awesome and luckily they are on rotation most of the time.

I HATE KARKAND! That is my least played map.

I can't wait to play SF again.

I miss my FW Gauntlet but addicted-to-games has a 24/7 gator that's been active recently.

What server you on?

The only time I notice ppl leave is when night maps are on

Iron Gator is one of my favorite maps but it sucks when the chopper whores start strafing the deck when there is only one spawn point left.  I like the night maps as well but it seems like they don't get played alot or the server admin will change the map after a few minutes into it.
  I see alot of Surge and Mass Destruction maps in rotation.  Mass Destruction is great as I/O but Surge is very boring if it is an I/O server.  I wish there was a way to keep vehicles but make it so there were no choppers.

The same reason that 70% of all vanilla servers run karkand, either 24/7 or rotation.

Repeat Offenders have an SF server that runs different maps, including the night maps.  In fact, the only maps NOT in rotation are:

Sometimes we have trouble getting enough people to start, but then people join and we have some great games, so come help us populate this great server

When I read these post here, I am wondering how warlord and ghost town servers can exist at all,when nobody likes them.  I like warlord, cause it is not spammed with snipers like many other maps. I even like the palace when sas and insurgents have 1 flag and there is vicious fighting happening inside. I respect other opinions but recently citymaps on infantry only mode make the most fun to me.
