Ok, I installed BETA 2, and now everytime I try to start my game, It starts like it is going to go. Then my screen goes all black like its about to load up it just crashes and wont start. Anyone else having this problem?

Are you using the desktop shortcut to open the game? If so, make sure that the target goes to the right folder(in properties). likewise for "Start In". that's what fixed it for me. Hope this helps.
Nope still doesn't work. O well I am not worried about it. I can still play 1.3.

Rename your Battlefield Exe back to BF2.exe, patch again and it won't crash.
I would rather call it: "I modify my game files, but don't remember anything, i'm not guilty feature".It must have an anti-noob feature
I had that with 1.4b1 and finally determined my firewall, zonealarm, was the problem..I had to tell it all over again to allow bf2
