Emotes WOULD be pretty cool. Like if you have all spawns and just killed the last person on the other team, then there'd actually be a script for teabagging.
I agree with all of that, except for the first rule. I think that whoever gets it gets to fly it. "Turns" are nonexistent in a game like this, and a couple people trying to bring them in won't succeed.
It wasn't a pistol/knife only server, they just had a big fight like that. Read his post.
I saw that before in 1.02, didn't get a screen though. Funny thing is, the map was also Karkand. o.O I guess it's just another glitch.
Tehsig updates very fast, but it's currently blocked, so it doesn't update at all (as of now). Once operation returns to normal it's a very good choice if you want a sig.
X-Fire is all you need. 2MB, can chat during almost any modern game without Alt+Tabbing out, voice chat, works for more games than just BF2, game-playing statistics, server info, one-click join, favorite and recently visited server lists for all your installed games, launch your game via X-Fire, a download system that can automatically download X-Fire updates and updates for any games you have installed... I guarantee you, it's not "bloatware".The Soup Nazi wrote:

Because it's not in any other FPS games either. The Soup Nazi wrote:

They have some stock photos, but you CAN input your own images, yes.
Don't host a 3.19MB file on GeoCities, their bandwidth allowances won't let people download it.
He's talking about MASTER Gunnery Sergeant, it's different than Gunnery Sergeant. It's the same level as Sergeant Major, like this:
Pvt
Pfc
Lcpl
Cpl
Sgt
SSgt
GySgt
MSgt/1stSgt
MgySgt/Sergeant Major
That's moving up 6 ranks. So that's either jacked up, or HE read it wrong and it was actually GySgt.

God, I would love a round like that, especially Clean Sweep.
Yes, a 6-character prefix has been added.
This is probably gonna be added later on, it was super fun in 1942. A lot more teamwork involved.
Yeah, it's if you resupply/heal/repair when you're in a vehicle, it doesn't depend on time.
McCullough, did you by any chance skip the basic badge and get the veteran badge of knife or pistol first? That might be why you didn't get First Sergeant, basic badges are a requirement, otherwise you just get Master Sergeant...
That's not a systematic rank. Like you just said, only 1 person has it at a time, it's not like you get a certain amount of points and are promoted.
Don't download from ea.com.
They probably haven't been officially implemented yet. Or maybe you don't need points, maybe other requirements like time as commander.
I dled from filefront.com, it finished 10 minute after I started it.

He's not, he's basing it on how he flies as a pilot, the joystick is just a suggestion. Whatever equipment you use, those are undeniably good tips. I use keyboard, and I always fly as if I were following this guide, even though I just read it today. If I were to write a jet piloting guide, it would turn out very similar to the one Soup Nazi's written, even though I use keyboard and he uses joystick. If you look further up the page, I DID write a little mini-guide on how I fly.TriggerHappy998 wrote:
How can you base a guide off of your personal opinion then?
That's because they're against EA's ranked server policy. You'd do well not to play on one if you see one.2510MyCountryMyFlag wrote:

I use keyboard, and I don't mean to be conceited, but I have honestly never seen another pilot even as much as match me in the air, not even joystickers. I can pull the Kubra Dam tunnel feat easily (once a chopper went in there to repair because he thought he was safe from me, he was wrong ) and can get rounds in the jet with as much as dozens of kills and as little as no deaths. I'd just like to say something on how I fly, more or less to agree with this guy here.
I am never in the missile display except for when I have just gotten in or if I'm just trying to locate a target (a Cobra against the Clean Sweep sky is hard to spot), then I switch back to bomb interface. The machine gun is the perfect weapon, it can take out most targets in seconds with a dead shot. But the real beauty of is that there's no forewarning lock, meaning that they're probably not going to get out of the way. I use my gun for choppers, jets, soft ground targets, and infantry, I reserve the bombs for armor and for when I fail to kill my target with a machine gun run.
When I'm locked on to, I don't flare, I save them for times like when I'm going down to resupply on the airstrip and a jet's on my ass, you need it most if you're flying straight for one reason for another. Whenever I get a lock, the first thing I do is go into fly-by view, this way I can see if my assailant is a jet, which is the most threatening. If it is, I immediately pull straight up, flip my plane horizontally, and come around in a diagonal turn back towards the ground. In my experience, usually just this is enough to bamboozle the average pilot and make them wonder where the hell I went to. If he's a more skilled pilot and follows me through it, I really start to maneuver (very few pilots have managed to stay on me when I'm maneuvering ). The current objective is just to lose him, nothing else. If it's anti-air, they sentenced themselves to death by locking on to me. I get to a decent altitude and browse around the map until I see him. Once I have his location, I pull up above the fogbarrier and come down straight on top of him. He usually ends up dead in seconds. Dive bombing (or just dive attacking ) for other reasons work too, I love coming down on the enemy helipad with my gun firing and pulling out with 3 kills.
If you're in a bomber and see a target, ALWAYS do a quick check of the minimap to see if there are any friendlies in that area. I greatly reduced the amount of TKs I was getting once I started doing this. If a friendly just got out of a vehicle, it shows up as a target for some reason, so make sure you do a quick scan of the minimap to see if there's anyone near the vehicle, since by the time you see their name it's too late. As well as eliminating enemy ground vehicles, you can also defend flags. If a spawn goes neutral, open up your big map and check the spawn in question for any friendlies. If there aren't any, hit your afterburner and go directly towards that spawn. When you're in bombing range, even if you're not showing up any targets, bomb. Chances are you'll get a kill or two and some flag defense points, then you can let your team get to it and take back control.
Also, just as a general rule, your best bet is to make sure you have a clean shot from the rear before opening fire. If you shoot before, you're just giving yourself away.
By the way, great guide mate. I know a lot of the stuff I just said is mentioned in your guide (seems like we fly in similar ways), but I felt like adding my own 2 cents on it. Rock on, keyboarders, rock on...

Get into a Karkand server (preferably 32 since there's a lot less vehicle action) that has very few players in out, maybe around 10-15. I got into a server like this and got 19 knife kills in one round (but I didn't have the 100 global kill requirement then for the badge ). But that's not really a necessity, in a full 32 Karkand server with full-on action I still managed to score 17 knife kills (AND I WOULD'VE HAD MY 18TH AND EXPERT BADGE EXCEPT MY SQUADMATE SPAWNED ON ME AND SHOT THE GUY I WAS ABOUT TO KNIFE--MY TARGET WAS STANDING STILL TOO ). If you know that there's an enemy capping a spawn, run in and knife him before he knows what's going on. It's also good if you're on MEC and your team is doing a good job at keeping USMC back, you can knife your way through the alleys and even get up to the front USMC spawn and knife them as they spawn. Go sneaky. Take the side routes and come around behind those advancing. Unless you get blasted by someone behind you, you're bound to get a kill this way. Also, make sure you're a medic, then you can heal yourself if you took some hits and you'll have the long sprint (sprinting is essential).
Tips on the actual knifing:
-This is the one time I advocate bunny hopping. If you can get them to unload their rifle and pistol clips, then it's knife to knife and there's less chance of you getting 15 rounds in your torso.
-A great tactic is to jump and go prone. This propels you forward a good distance and makes you hard to hit. If you're close enough to the enemy when you see him and you do this you can slice him before he can even let 5 rounds off.
-If someone is prone, crouch above them to make sure you'll get them. No good to stand on top of them and miss to have the sound alert them.
-If someone is moving, it seems you have to slice from a tiny distance away to get the kill due to lag, don't go so close to them that you're touching them. If someone's stationary, you have to go up right next to them.
Hope these will help you.

But this isn't real life, it's a game, where I think the average player should be able to get at least 1 veteran class badge. The average player will have to play for months before they get a vet badge, which I know is much less than in the military, but EA still seems to be going too much for realism. I don't want to play a game that seems like an exact simulation of the life of a Marine. The point of the game is fun, screw realism.bluehavoc8686 wrote:

Either that guy's a hack/glitch, or EA is on crack.
I have no problem with the sights of the G36C, they're great for me. I actually have more trouble with the L85's sights, and the L85 is less accurate. G36C > L85A1 fo' life.
Might make it a little faster, but the performance depends on your PC specs. So, it'd be nice if you'd list them.
Yeah, it'd be cool if you got to upgrade to a D-Eagle say if you get the Expert Pistol Badge. That thing would be able to do some damage.
Yeah, it seems that if they're moving, it doesn't work if you're right next to them, you have to slice from just a little bit away. But if they're stationary, it doesn't work unless you're right next to them. It's jacked up. o.O
I just played a round of Karkand where I got 19 knife kills, but I didn't have the global requirement of 100 kills to get the Expert badge.
Yeah, just needed to say that.
Yeah, just needed to say that.
Seems like it was plagiarized from here since you've cut off all the contact info, Adam Eliason isn't the same as David Ferry, and neither is AlphaDrake the same as Juxtaposition. Or am I wrong?

to prevent having loads of people taking this kit and sitting around waiting for someone else to get shot down. you could set a limited number of pilot kits allowed per side per round (say one pilot/vehicle).
to decide who gets to be in this limited number you could either :
A) have the CO appoint his pilots (verify)
B) give it to the best (most kills in craft)
C) award the kit to the best (k:d ratio)
among those that apply for it.
B) Then how would starter pilots ever get it?
C) Same as B.
I think that 250 hours (100 in the case of the vehicles) for a veteran badge is OBSCENE. The basic badges I can obtain in less than 10 minutes, whereas for the next step up you need 250 hours? And what about expert? I'm with WormGuts on thinking the veteran badges should take more dedication to the class/vehicle, but 250/100 hours is just INSANE. I think it should be more like 75/25, you're still showing you're dedicated, and there's still Expert to get after that. 1,000/750 hours!?!?!?! You'd have to have your whole life on this game!!!! Those I think should be cut down to 250/150, showing that you excel in those classes. You shouldn't have to play like a zombie to reach the higher level awards. At these current reqs very few people will even acquire ONE expert badge (besides pistol and knife). My very opinionated 2 cents.
Yup, they both have to be in the same round. You have to have 3 minutes on ground defense and 5 kills with it in the same round, and 15 minutes in an airplane and 19 kills with it in the same round, etcetera.
It's Valorous Merit Ribbon, everywhere is wrong.
I usually just have a cup of water or a drink of some sort, gaming is thirsty work.
I also got the DAO at Sergeant, it's a beast. It's useless at long range, but it's a shotgun, what do you expect? If you're a good shot, you can use the rocket at longer range.
As for voodoo's comment on the reload time, there is a way to circumvent that. If you switch to another weapon during the reload, the shells that have already been loaded in will stay there, but it ends the load so you won't have to load all the way to the full 12. If you're reloading from 0, you can let it put 6 in, then switch to your pistol and back and those 6 shells will still be in there. You won't have to do that weird little twisty thing at the end of the load either.

I get that thing too, where you toss a charge and switch to detonator really fast, it switches back to the charges and throws another instead. It pisses me off so much, but it's cause is lag, not a glitch. So there's really not much for it except to give it a second after you switch to the detonator to make sure the game registered it.
Really? I got it at 60 team points, but I guess it was just a delay in registering...

Wow. I play a lot, but I'm not obsessed. That was a good thing to happen to you if it opened your eyes.
I probably shouldn't say this as it might relapse you into your obsessive ways, but there are OTHER stat servers, some which have so little traffic they update in minutes. I know of some like that that give you the same statistics as BF2S, I check them if my stat page here hasn't updated (I hope you guys don't mind me saying that, I'm not trying to make your users go elsewhere or anything).

It's gonna go on for years, I'd estimate about 3-5 years before the majority have stopped playing.
I think it's supposed to be in November or December. And BTW, there's at least 3 new armies, I think there might even be something like 5... I KNOW there's going to be the British SAS and 2 Middle Eastern rebel groups, and I THINK there's another Middle Eastern army and some French legion or something. There's something like 12 new vehicles and a bunch of new maps, and a few dozen more weapons. I'm probably not 100% correct on this stuff though, I read through all the official info a few days ago but can't recall the exact numbers.SharkyMcshark wrote:

The idea is good, but I don't see how it would be implemented. It could easily be circumvented and just as easily lead to punishing for accidents when someone legitimately lays down mines. I think they should just get rid of punishing altogether, the majority of the players punish just because. To entrust the players with making a decision was a bad idea, again, most of the players will just punish without thinking.
I get annoyed when someone does it to me. It raises my eyebrow when a guy kills me then stands over me and looses another clip into me for no apparent reason. They're just making themselves vulnerable and wasting ammo.
I myself only ever do it to my friends during a pre-game (when there's not enough players to start the round). If I'm in that situation I'll teabag 'em, keep shooting 'em, whatever.
