disable it noob. any gamer should know something about stopping autostart services, and if not, takes 5 seconds to google how.gene_pool wrote:
PB is an absolutely terrible program. I have no games that even use PB anymore, but I still have pnkbustrA in my processes, using my system resources.
actually, here's the info
start -> run -> services.msc {enter}
find pnkbustrA -> right click -> stop
right click -> properties -> startup type = disabled
your own ignorance is not a good reason to bash a FREE service that works just fine.
and for the rest of you morons, it's in any punkbuster supported game's EULA that you are not to reverse engineer any component of the game for any reason, punkbuster enforces it so we don't have to
hurrah'ing the DDoS's on two of punkbusters supporting communities directly supports the cheaters that are breaking the very same EULA you AGREED to when you installed.
and to whomever said something about punksbusted or pbbans cant even stop the attack, you have ZERO idea what you are talking about. it's not their responsibility to secure their hosts routing hardware and network configuration, hence the move to a new location. let's not even mention possible damages to other servers and routing equipment in the associated datacenter, possibly causing a lot of e-commerce sites to lose a LOT of business.
syn and high rate flood DDoS tools are a dime a dozen, that's why DoS'ers are typically called packet kiddies. any prepubescent whiny little cheater could easily find and use these tools without any knowledge of how the tool works. and the nature of these attacks requires very little bandwidth to tie up a great deal of bandwidth by "confusing" routing equipment into processing far more then it should, the propagating addresses probably arent' even aware they're being used in an attack.
fortunately even spoofed DDoS's are relatively easy to trace back to the source. hope they nail the punks ass to a wall. jail time becuase he got bitter about a game will hopefully smarten him the fuck up.
