I don't believe a word of it. Anyone with a 1.6 KDR is not owning the place.
I've seen helo jocks, jet jocks and armor whores owning the place with 10 to 1 kill ratios pissing everybody off because they are just that good. But a sniper...roflol.

G3 is 40dmg per shot vs 38 from an AK-47. Either way you're going to kill most people with 3 bullets. Unlocks are overrated and I'm sick of the peeps who whine when they get killed by them.<^|0B1ackhawk0|^> wrote:

uhm... right. well, thanks anyway! (although I dont quite get the idea of a G3 whore? I heard about tank-whores, jet-whores and gaymores, but a G3-whore? why? is it good?)<^|0B1ackhawk0|^> wrote:

There's a huge difference between XP and 95/98. Now compare Vista and XP and tell me why anyone needs Vista so badly over XP?cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

I can't remember which server it was tonight but I noticed some rules being listed in chat that caught my eye as the game was progressing. I saw some standard stuff about not camping uncap bases until all flags were taken, which is fine but then came some the following:
First I saw this one that read something like(none of these are exact text, just from memory): You will be kicked for jihading vehicles.
Hmm, okaaay, whatever. I see nothing wrong with with this tactic at all. It takes a lot of balls and doesn't always work. Hell I've blown myself up a few times doing it.
Then I saw: No claymores/mines at flags. Huh, you can't be serious?. I don't think they enforced it too well because I layed a shitload of claymores at flags just to defy these assholes. Either that or an admin wasn't on, I dunno.
Later I saw the utmost stupid shit to date: No dropping resupply crates at enemy uncap bases.
Ok, wait let me get this straight. Some brave sob goes spec ops, manages to get to an enemy base unmolested and blows up their UAV trailer and one artillerly. Now all he can expect to do is just sit there and pick his nose till a support guy comes to give him some ammo? Oh wait, you can't even do that because of the next rule which is:
Only spec-ops are allowed at enemy uncap bases.
LOL! Talk about some pansy ass shit. I guess the admin must play commander all the time and thinks he should be immune to any disruption to his constant artillery barrage.

The G3 > M16 for three simple reasons. (1) higher damage and more accurate (2) full auto (3) you can use regular nades instead of the launcher. 10 fewer rounds per clip...bah, who cares if you kill faster.Kobrakai wrote:
I would take an M16 over a G36E/G36C/G3 anytime.
Ak’s are the best guns in the game.
The PKM is SHIT compared to the RPK74.
The M24 is WAY more accurate than the M95.
In fact the only unlock that might be better than stock is the DA012.
AK-47 rules for sure. But I will pick the G3 if I need to throw nades in certain situations.
The only stock weapon I don't like is the MP-5, it's very weak but otherwise the others are just fine.. the AK-47 kicks ass.
I don't know that the hell you are talking about, there's nothing hard about sniping in this game especially with the M95.
Don't try to do fine precision shooting with the M95. Aim for the torso and let er rip. Odds are pretty good the other guys is already injured and if so then he's a deadman.
I have yet to meet a sniper rifle I don't like in this game. I've used the M24 and SVD for the majority of my kills.

All that sweet hardware and you are gonna play on a 17" monitor?
Dude, get 20" at the very least, they are so cheap nowadays. Might want to spend the extra $150 for the Samsung 204b, I have it and it rocks for gaming. Not the greatest view angle but I'm mostly sitting right in front of it anyway.
P.S. Alienware cases are some ugly mofo shit.

Dude, there's one tank and one apc per side on Ghost Town and they die easily. Maybe I've just been lucky but the teams I've been on the AT guys wipe out armor so fast that I can play Assault and Sniper without worrying about tanks and apcs raping me.Talon wrote:
Rubbish, that map has more tanks per square KM than anything else...Hooten-Delta wrote:

And when I said the APC thing - I assumed that people who hated APCs also didnt like tanks...

Lol, you've selected the most accurate of the SF unlocks(G36E) and your accuracy is still less than 11%? I think you need to put away the knife and learn how to shoot before you complain about unlocks. I still prefer the G3 and M-95 over the SF unlocks.negatorynosirnowayman wrote:
Is anyone else pissed off about these SF unlocks? It gives players who pay $30 an advantage over those who don't. And all you need to do is play for 1 minute and you're sent. EA, yet again, is putting money first, by unbalancing the game! (then shoving patches up our ass saying that they balance the game by nerfing the shit out of stuff (AHEM* GL *) Your thoughts?
In my limited playing time I've learned these to help with my survivability:
Run far away from Karkand.
Prowl routes/alleys that people use to get from one flag to another.
Avoid claymores by playing a sniper more often. When you realize where the good spots are to lay them you know how to better avoid them
Play more SF maps where you have grappling hooks, zip lines, teargas, etc to give you more options.

I wouldn't get caught up in the raid-0 hype for desktop machines. This is a great article at Anandtech for you to read:

I have a single Seagate 7200.9 Barracuda 160GB SATA drive(good review of it at http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=2682) and I get real nice HDTach numbers of 241MB/s burst read. I'm usually the top 5 people to enter the game when a BF2 map loads.

Jesus fucking christ.. how can you be a Colonel and not know about the slow weekend stats updates? I haven't even played a month and have already seen it happen a couple times where it took several hours to update. I used Search to figure it out.REDRAGON12345 wrote:
My stats are not updateing!!! Even on BFHQ!!! Is this happening to everyone or just me??? I am soo scared my stats were wiped PLEASE tell me this is happening to everone!!!!
Obviously stats don't mean a thing when it comes to IQ around here.
I actually like the F2000, the crosshairs suck for long-range but in close quarters it gets the job done. I used it a lot in SF before I got my G3 unlock and I still choose the F2000 as my 2nd unlock but I prefer the Ak-47 lately. Either way who gives a shit about unlock whiners...people will whine about anything. Just fucking use what's appropriate to the situation.
Kind of funny anyway if you play SF where a lot of the unlocks are available no matter what your rank.

I would like Karkand more if it weren't for the Hotel acting like a blackhole, sucking in all the anti-teamwork lemmings who are just looking for quick nade kills. Mix in the LAV campers just wating around picking people off as the they spawn near the hotel and it gets tiring real quick.
If you want a city map that takes strategy and skill then play Ghost Town.

Well I mostly play Assault so it's a no brainer...SF rules. I can't stand using my G3 on vanilla. No flashbangs, just one useless smoke grenade and no grappling hook... boring as hell.
Gives us detailed computer specs. For all I know you might think a 1gz cpu and ATI 9800 is a "nice computer" to play bf2 on high quality lol.Rhal426 wrote:
OMG high quality is so nice on bf2 but it is so laggy so i always play on low does anyone actually keep it on high btw i actually have a nice computer so that is not the problem
I play on high settings except for medium shadows at 1600x1200 and 4xAA and don't get much lag. This is on an AMD64 3200, 2gig of ram and a Nvidia 7600gt.
Your CPU is fine, I have the same.
Your memory is ok but 2gb does help a lot.
Your GPU is an ancient POS. I'm amazed you can actually play the game with that thing. I imagine this is on mostly low/medium settings. I found my old 6600 difficult to play on and that is 100x better than an 5900.
Depending on your budget you could spring $149 for a 7600gt which is the best bang for the buck right now. I have one and it rocks with BF2. I would do that then get another gig of ram.
Other things to check. Did you install this on an NTFS or FAT32 filestystem? Do you have a PATA or SATA drive? Have you defragged your drive in a while?
I have an AMD 3200, 2gb ram, 7600gt, and a Seagate 7200.9 SATA drive. Just a medium-end computer nowadays. The game loads quickly and I'm usually the first 5 peeps in the game on map reloads.

I got my KDR above 1 about in a few days. Discovering the wonders of the Assault class on Ghost Town was mostly responsible for that My first unlock was the G3 and I love this gun although lately I've been using the AK-47 when playing russian or mec.
As a recent newb I'm glad I stopped playing Karkand when I did.
All 18 games on Karkand were the same...everyone rushed to the hotel and nade spammed and then the armor rolled in and just parked at the spawn spots and raped. Absolutely no teamwork, no communication.. just a bunch of fucking lemmings with no skill at all.
Ghost Town is my kind of map. Armor can be effective from range but can only take one flag and there's lots of alleys and high spots to take out armor. Not that I play AT much but I love good AT guys on the team. Assault kicks ass and there are tons of great sniper spots.
Oh yea first post for me after lurking for a quite a while.
