You are correct Sir!....AV-8B Harrier is the Marines choice not the A-10howler_27 wrote:
The last time that I checked, the Marines didn't fly the A-10. Get over the whole service issue and just enjoy the friggin' game. If I'm wrong about the A-10, please inform me.

This was my next suggestion and I think it's G.skil memory. The extreme version is very good on par with corsair also is the G.skil dual channel? Run the MEMtest86 for atleast 8-10 hrs if you see any errors the memory is the problem....but thats not saying this will correct your issue. You might have serveral problems.Defiance wrote:
Err...G.Skill RAM? Never heard of it...
On top of the other advice, try MemTest86.
Google, follow instructions on site.

Are you Overclocking the video card?
(This may sound stupid) is the fan in the front sucking in and is the one in the back blowing out if so the BTX case that you are using is a awesome case and you should not have to keep the sides off....matter of fact you have engineers from lian-li that have put a lot of time in on making a kickass case that was designed with sides on! So if you are not overclocking your card and not running any software that mods the video bios ....try running a different card with the sides on and see what happens.

Ok Im getting and have been for the past week BF2 crashing my PC mid game, and after lots and lots of testing believe me Ive read every forum page going and tried loads of stuff I now have this scenario:
1) If I run BF2 on Low settings I can pretty much play for 20+ minutes then Crash (screen freezes, I restart)
2) If I run on Medium settings I can play for 2/6 minutes then crash (screen freezes, I restart)
2) If I run on High settings I can get to the loading screen then bang (screen freezes, I restart)
My specs are:
AMD 64 3000
Gigabyte K8NSNXP nForce3 250
Connect3D x800 XT PE
G.Skill 2GB DDR HZ PC4000 (2x1GB)
please can anyone shine some light on my darkness....life with no BF2, I dont even want to think about it...
Po.
1)What kind of power supply do you have?...Size?
2)What Case do you have? make and model
3)How many fans in the case do you have? Not counting the one on the power supply and the one on the Cpu.
4)If you remove the side on the PC how long until it freezes?
Reply to these and I will try and help...

Dude 2g is good but save your money and buy a faster hard drive...for me I went out and bought a SATA150 7200rpm drive and it made a huge difference then I tried it with just 1 g and then with 2g it made it smoother. But then I went out and bought a SATA2 (300) and it flat out rocks now just remember your mobo must support SATA2 to get the transfer speed up to 300 Mbps

Is there an easy way to get up your kill streakto 25, i can't get it in armour because some C4 noob is blowing me into small pieces. Can you get it if you be a commander and use the artillery or does that not work?
plz give some usefull tips ( i know that this is a noob question)
* IAR: 18 kills with Knife
* 100 kills with a knife
* Veteran Knife Combat Badge
You should not have any problems getting your kill streak to 25+

It's all in your hard drive by that I mean the speed of it.I had to get a SATA 150 drive to speed up the loading after the newest patch.First i tried bumping the memory to 2gig but that didn't do much at all but when I went with the SATA drive it decreased the load time by about 3 minutes and I'm back in the butter zone.

Well this has been corrected this is what I had to do:
You can manually uninstall the game by removing the files and registry keys associated with it. Be sure to follow these steps exactly as they appear to prevent accidental file/program deletion on your system.
To delete the save files:
1.
Open My Documents.
2.
Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.
To delete the game files (in the default location):
1.
Open My Computer.
2.
Open the C drive.
3.
Open the Program Files folder.
4.
Open the EA GAMES folder.
5.
Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.
6.
Close all open windows.
7.
Right-click on the Recycle Bin and choose Empty Recycle Bin.
To edit the registry and remove Battlefield 2:
1.
Click on the Start button.
2.
Click on Run.
3.
Type regedit in the text field.
4.
Click File and then choose Export.
5.
Name the file Backup and make sure the Export Range is set to All.
6.
Click Save; you will now be returned to the Registry Editor window.
7.
Click the plus sign next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
8.
Click the plus sign next to Software.
9.
Click the plus sign next to DICE.
10.
Right-click on the Battlefield 2 folder and choose Delete.
11.
Click the plus sign next to Electronic Arts.
12.
Right-click and choose Delete on any Battlefield 2 folders.
13.
Click the plus sign next to Microsoft.
14.
Click the plus sign next to Windows.
15.
Click the plus sign next to CurrentVersion.
16.
Click the plus sign next to Uninstall.
17.
Right-click on the key named {04858915-9F49-4B2A-AED4-DC49A7DE6A7B} andchoose Delete.
18.
A Confirm Key Delete window will appear, choose Yes.
19.
Close the WindowsRegistry Editor.
Battlefield 2 is now completely removed from your system.
Then re-install the game and then the 1.03 patch and then the 1.12 patch.
This all happened because I changed the password on the windows profile that the game was installed under!

Quote from ea support:
This issue is typically caused by a conflict with the video card or video card drivers. Make sure your video card meets the requirements for the game, and that your drivers are the newest version available from the manufacturer.
The supported video cards are as listed below:
ATI Radeon
*
X700 (PCIe), X600 (PCIe), X800 XT Platinum Edition, X800 PRO, X300 series.
*
9800 series, 9700 series, 9600 series, 9559 (RV350LX), 9500 series, 8500 series.
NVIDIA GeForce
*
6600 (PCIe), PCX 5900 (PCIe).
*
5800 series (AGP).
*
6800 Ultra, 6800 GT, 6800.
*
FX 5950 series, FX 5900 series, FX 5700 series.
If you are not using one of these video card chipsets, the game may run improperly or may not run at all. The game was tested to communicate properly with the aforementioned chipsets using the newest drivers. If you have one of these cards but are still experiencing the issue, it is likely that the drivers you have are not the newest manufacturer version.
Click here for information on checking your video card and updating your drivers.
Note that if you have a ATI Radeon 9200 PCI card (this does not apply to AGP or PCI Express cards), you may experience this issue even after updating your drivers. Although this card meets the memory requirements for running the game, when tested it was not able to run the game with a stability adequate enough to make the official supported video card list in the Readme for the game. Updating your video card drivers as well as your motherboard firmware may help to resolve this issue. Please refer to your video card manufacturer for further instruction.

Now you might think damn not another nOOb question because he d/l bf2 off the net and is using a hacked cd-key.
NO thats not the case the other day I downloaded the 1.12 patch (I don't have bf:sf)because it's the only patch available on ea's website.Everything went great I played for a couple hours and then a couple hours the next day.
Now I go in and whenever I try and join a server it says "your cd-key is not valid".Has anybody seen this?Or know what to do?I've checked EA's support site with no luck.
Thanks Chaos
