I don't know if this topic has ever been discussed but I'm interested to know how many people play BF2 that are active duty members of the military or veterans.  If you don't mind, I think it would be cool to describe what you do/did (M.O.S. - Military Occupational Specialty) while serving your country.  Maybe even talk about where you are serving or have served.

I was a Combat Medical Specialist and served 4 years active duty in the U.S. Army.  I served from 1986 to 1990 and was called back to active duty for Operation Desert Storm in January of 1991.  I have served in an armored cavalry unit in Germany and in a mechanized infantry unit at Fort Knox.  I also went to jump school at Fort Benning.  During my time in Germany, I saw many pieces of armor and "armor busters" during live fire exercises.  Really cool stuff.

Also, give props to those who are currently serving our country during this stressful time.  With the war in Iraq, conflict in Afghanistan and tensions in Iran currently effecting everyday life (if you pay for gasoline), we need to let them know that we support them and wish them well.  And to those who are veterans such as myself, thank you.

Well.  I served 7 years in the United States Marine Corps.  I was a 4066(Network Admin/Computer Repairman) and spent a couple of months in Iraq back in Feb 02, just when we started to invade their country.  I was honorable discharged October 04 as a E-5(Sgt).  I had a good time for the most part.  After graduating from boot camp at Parris Island, SC in 1997, I did my time at SOI(I forget what it was called for the non-grunts but I know SOI was for the real grunts) at Camp Lejuene, NC.  Then it was off to 29 Stumps(aka 29 Palms), CA.  I spent about 8 months there and then I was shipped out to Okinawa, Japan.  Spent a year there then was stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA.  I had so much fun there that I re-enlisted and was soon transfered to Parris Island, SC.(Nope, I was not a Drill Instructor, thank goodness ) Anyway, I spent the last 3+ years there and had an ok time I suppose.  Anyway, thanks for those that are still serving.

Four years active and four years reserve in The Suck.  I was an 0351 anti-tank and small demolitions.  I used the javelin, an amazing anti-tank weapon.  Did a little time as a spotter for our SRT (special response team) Designated Marksman ( urban sniper)  I was made the spotter because I couldn't shot the Marine Designated Marksman sniper rifle as good as my roommate, and if you check my BF2 stats, you can see why. Spent some time evacuating people from all over hell on earth they call Africa.  A little time in Afghan and the Sandbox.  And if we go to war with Iran, I will be first in line at the recruiting station.  Semper Fi bitches.

Served just under 4 and half years, 2000-2004 USMC; extended my contract for 5 months for OIF II.  Spent a year in Okinawa, ~3 in 29 palms and about 6 months in Iraq.  My MOS was 4066/0651 - data geek so needless to say my enlistment was pretty uneventful, not to mention I was attached to wing!  Most of my deployment time was spent sitting around waiting for something to break or digging trenchs and reburying cable.
Corps was a damn good time tho!  I do miss it sometimes

Been on active duty now for about 9 years. Spent about 8 years in the Alabama national guard before going active. I spent a year in Iraq during OIF I and have been stationed all over the world. I am currently serving in Belgium. I have been a damn truckdriver my whole career.

I was Army Reserves for 10 years as a 57E then they changed it to some where to a combined with another MOS.   Which is something else now.    I was training as a 91B.  Which they changed that also.

Yes it has but I don't mind sharing.  I think it was a privilege to serve my country.  I am very proud of that.

I don't know about a privilege, but I'm glad you're proud.  My father and brother are both vets (Vietnam and Iraq, respectfully) ... I'm glad we have people willing to risk it for the rest of us, many who don't deserve it.

Any Royal Marines here?    Those guys are the best bastards to go drinking with.  However, IMO, Australia is the best place I have been.  Those guys in the military there are cool as hell.
