i'm just pointing out that one media posting about another media posting about an email supposedly obtained by a house committee which was allegedly written by member of a certain political camp all parties involved spent 5+ of last years shitting on means exactly nothing. unless, of course, it was sufficiently investigated.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

emails? condemning?
did they post the emails themselves? were those digitally signed?

of course she would, the fasade - and, incidentally, her own position - must be maintained. everybody must take the long road of going to lobbyists and buying the services of those lawmakers - and then whoever buys the most gets to to set the rules governing free speech or whatever else they want. that's how <checks notes> vibrant democracy works there.Bloomberg wrote:
Germany and France attacked Twitter Inc. and Facebook Inc. after U.S. President Donald Trump was shut off from the social media platforms, in an extension of Europe’s battle with big tech.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel objected to the decisions, saying on Monday that lawmakers should set the rules governing free speech and not private technology companies.
grow a pair and come, you pudding eating mofo! we'll make out right in the middle of the red square. i'll even ask the missus to watch for polar bears and fsb agents.
/s tag was needed there after all.
on the matter of free speech though - i've made my point numerous times here. as long as information manipulation tools are in the hands of the ruling capitalist class there can be no free speech.
move along.

you tried irish stew i suppose? borsch is something like that, minus turnips plus beets which give it it's "horrenows" look. it's usually consumed with sour cream and black bread.
we have all the food you'd want. moscow is as much an eu city as any other you've seen, surely in function if not in glamor. just make sure it's summer, late spring or early autumn if you do come, because general moroz may totally ruin your visit at any other time.

noice. what constitutes hate speech is now defined by private companies. capitalism at work indeed.
your widely accepted spelling is wrong. just like a lot of other widely accepted stuff you take for granted.

it's not about transliteration - there's literally no "т" in the word "борщ".uziq wrote:

you are tilting at windmills. both of you. listen to yourselves - creativity, complexity, touchy, feely, blah blah blah, it's all totally subjective. "art" exists entirely in the eye of the beholder. you can study techniques, trends and all that, but it's nigh impossible to define the stuff.
@Pochsy: i've seen some people who were really good at those tap-the-mat video games. none of those i'd call good dancers though.

true, but it can be managed. just don't allow everything microsoft throws your way to be installed right away - have special environment for testing. it's a hassle, sure, but, tbh, it was always that way, just not as bad as they have it with 10. come to think of it, it's the same with linux - you don't want everything coming through their update channels installed on your every machine right away either.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

no. just no. linux is a specialist platform which can only be used as a desktop os in very application restricted environments. it can't really stand against windows as "swiss knife" type of os atm.unnamednewbie13 wrote:

we moved to ltsc in a company i admin for to avoid that^ shit. yes, i know, it has limitations and compatibility issues, but once those are figured out and workarounds found, in our exoerience it's a solid choice for those who don't want to struggle with microsoft not giving a damn. migrated our 1.2k+ machines to it over the last year, no major issues yet.
you didn't answer my question though. what form would you suggest "a huge public reckoning" took?
