I've gotten my badges - and I've got over 20K in points - and I've got to wonder why I don't have gunnery sergeant
BTW - do you get an unlock on that as well?
or do I have to go to 50K or whatever crazy number it is to get that last one?

My favorite shot?
Karkland - I'm USMC and I hear the great MEC WHALE in the air, I see the faint outline of it in the distance as it's moving slowly to complete obscurity in the white of the sky - only the shape remains and is starting to disapear as well, I shoot at helos becuase sometimes others are and my shot blows them up, well... This shot sniped the pilot on total luck - not even able to see the pilot at this point because it had moved out of view. I see (you killed so and so), then in a little bit I see You kiled (4 other guys)
It was so beautiful I almost started to tear up a bit
That's my longest/best/luckiest shot.
But I DO LOVE to snipe some guy trying to run me over in a humvee that's a GREAT feeling.

BH Whoring is how it was accomplished - I've seen ridiculously high scores doing that absolutely insane. I have no doubt that it was the BH if they were legit scores, otherwise it was simply statpadding.
TA_Havok is right - There's also evidence that I've seen that says that eating lots of raw foods (vegetables etc... - not raw hamburger guys) can improve youre health.

What's really funny is that BFV - has almost no following - but BF1942 still is going fairly strong, probably will for some time. I'm looking at re-installing it for the true joy of those maps - WWII was some of the BEST warfare of modern history (in terms of battles - seeing as how no war is all that great).
I hope to see another major WW2 release in the BF line - it won't get any better than that, it's a time when ground troop warfare was still used - it won't be beat, but modern stuff isn't all bad - it's just that BF1942 will always be the best (more than likely).

yea - Lost village was good - but I would have CERTAINLY taken El Alamein over Lost Village in a heartbeat.
Everyone knows that El Alamein was the BEST WWII map of BF 1942 / DC - EA BLEW IT ON that one.
WHICH WWII MAP WOULD YOU HAVE WANTED?

I Figured that out eventually - but it actually doesn't need to be 3 Char. it can be any number of Chars. it just needs to change the file so that ATI / NVIDIA can't associate it to a certain profile run by the Graphics Card company using higher quality shaders etc... and then it just runs it in "Default" so to speak making it smoother but not as clean looking.
I figured it out.
thanks

OK - the keyboard issue is actually the fact that once you install the patch, some computers wipe all, ***ALL*** the keybaord and mouse settings in controll.
Just go there and hit restore defaults and then set to pref. again.
BTW - I can't use *** in the file name - windows doesn't allow it.
I think it was a joke or something.

I've got a Laptop (Inspiron 9100 - w/ 512MB RAM and 128MB Radeon 9700 graphics card) It used to chop (sometimes pretty badly), Dell FINALLY released a new driver for it after like a year specifically stating BF2 improvements and they were right - it was so smooth I almost didn't know what to do - then came 1.03 now it's as choppy as it was, if not worse - ARRGGHHHH!!!
I have lost my smooth playing.
Oh well - stupid Dell

you would need to have a firwire output on the camcorder and a firewire input on your computer. not to mention a firewire cable .
The camcorder has to be able to support "pass through" a dv camcorder that is a few hundred $300-400+
Then you just need a capture utility - there are lots of freewares out there that will allow you to capture from firewire cable.

1 - depends on the resolution you capture at and the resolution you're outputting at, not to mention the editing software that you are using. However it can be done.
2 - NP, however the software itself does that in the battlerecorder section better than it would look on (more than likely) a video slowed down.
3- for you, I'd suggest an S-Vid out, into a DV camcorder (gonna need some way of inputting the feed to the camcorder) and then record on to the tape, then recap via firewire. If you had a second computer that could accept the S-Vid that could also capture that feed, that would possibly work too, however quality is sacrificed when converting the high resolution of the game to the relatively low rez of SD television feeds that S-Video utilizes.
Hope that helps.

I am a professional video/audio editor and I've got a lul right now, and I've been banging my head on, this one project, but I want to do some fun stuff as well, so please contact me if you want someone to do some editing. I also have professional audio recording equipment if you want some done. I have some particle FX programs as well, that allow me to improve/simulate several effects.
The best way to get ahold of me would be to email me at dayvids_at_gmail_dot_com (don't just spam/blam this email , it's quasi personal/business and I don't need a bunch of junk there, thanks.
I do not however have a capture software for capturing video. You could either send me pre-capped files, or (depending on the cost and rez you require I could possibly purchase the software with which to do it.) There's always the "tape the screen" method too
just let me know (looking at more large scale projects, but not really all that picky - just nice to get the creative juices going on something that's not work once and a while

don't know if you could do this before - but u can now take out mines and claymores (haven't tried it with C4) by nading them so that you can get past them w/ no damage. (not exactly stealthy though).
I appreciate that though - now my moron teamates that will mine ever entrance to a flag can have their work undone by non engis.

well, I'd have to say that my absolute favorite moment was in BF42 when shortly after getting the game I was shooting at a plane that was in already sad shape and as it flew (VERY CLOSELY - trying to crush me I think) overhead and I was unloading my pistol in it, it blew to tiny bits as it went screaming over my head and into the ground behind me. It was cinematic in it's beauty, and as a NOOB only served to solidify the coolness of the Game .
In BF2 - I'd have to say the best thing is when I snipe drivers trying to run me over - I just stand there and bang - pop the driver through the window as he comes speeding right into my bullet
Lots of others but that's probly my fav, just makes me feel so good

Many years ago, I used to play a helicopter game by microprose called gunship (not the rerelease they did in the last 5 years, we're talking pre-pentium days and more like 286/386 days). Man - microprose really knew how to crap up coding that's for sure anyway - that was the only medal I would ever get - but LOVED getting them. I was like 10 or something, anyways, I didn't mind getting my Purple heart on here cuz it makes me remember the good ol days
overclicking is the leading cause of missing when using the tv guided missle (Hellfire missle)
I've taken helos from full health to smoking with shots to helo engins with my M95, I also have done MANY kills through glass - guys trying to run me over are the best they think they've got me, then they're gone Never put a bullet through armor - but I did put a cobra from smoking to exploding with my M95 once, was kinda shocked.
I GET SICK AND TIRED OF MORONS WHO DON'T REALIZE THAT THEY CAN FIRE THE MISSLE FROM OUT OF SIGHT AND GUIDE THE *TV GUIDED MISSLE* TO THE TARGET!!!!
Sorry - had to do that - it's been pissing me off for so long - I will be on Sharqi map and take off at the radio tower - hover for the guy to fire the missle, and he just sits there yelling "lets go, lets go" (I type MISSLE)
"Let's Go, Let's Go"
(I type moron)
and if I'm just really fed up and pissed of I "accidentally" go flying into a building, then type oops
Anyway - that's rare - but I usually save that joy for some moron who tks for chopper and I quick steal the pilots seat and he has to take the gunner position - "oops "
Just too many smacktards out there on the standard pub servers

Had to re-install on my C: Drive because it won't patch if it's not in the OS volume (by the looks of it at least) and after trying to patch it it failed to start up even. - this wasn't a problem with 1.2 Kinda sad IMO.
I doubt I'm a big enough market share for them to fix that but, come on - that's just lazy.

THIS PATCH WILL NOT INSTALL ON GAME WHEN IT"S NOT ON C: DRIVE !!! !?!?!?!?
I've got the game installed on a separate directory, and it won't patch - says patch failed and now the game won't even start
AAARRRGGGG!!!!!!

I don't have a problem with close combat - just make the blast radius larger so that it kills them too - that way they have to do it from a farther distance - I should be able to shoot a wall on the other side of the street - or, maybe even the center of the street and not get killed - though maybe I would be hurt from middle of street - That might make it too powerfull though - a distance initialization would be good as long as it wasn't too far.
Alright - here's the deal - it's a skill - just like sniping a head shot is - they're one shot kills, and it's not the easiest thing in the world to do - my cuz can't shoot them for crap. I've spent a pretty decent amount of time as assault, but I've been honing my skill w/ the launcher. You have to be able to adjust for distance - speed of the target - direction of the target - and then there's the always popular - am I gonna die if I shoot this and miss
Jackhammer isn't all that great - played with it during the unlock hack of last week or so. and my cuz unlocked it - not all that good - get the Anti tank or the Spec ops if you want a gun worth anytying - or medic of course . I think the sniper does good at medium dist. but far dist, and it just doesn't hold up - too close and you're too visable/ almost need to pull out to see what's goin on.
HA - I play on a laptop - but it's not all bad - 3.2GHZ HT intel proc, Radeon 9700, mostly meduim settings - and it runs just fine - little long on the load time - but that's because of the lack of ram to work with. (only 512)
Supply crate - HA - I got killed once by a guy opening his chute as he was jumping off of a building, he was next to me and he jumped down, then the chute popped back up to where I was, and instant death.B.Schuss wrote:

I couldn't believe it - I laughed for a while on that one.
Yea - the very same - but I'm using it on an Inspiron 9100 - 3.2ghz desktop replacement laptop. That I purchased for editing video (it just happens to play games well too)kilroy0097 wrote:
Just a quick question. By "nub" are you talking about that little orange doo-dad that is in the middle of the keyboard on laptops from IBM? The one that replaces the mouse track ball or touch sensative square? Or is this some other nub thing?Double-0-Kills wrote:

sort of - I have a nub on my KB - that's the best BH piloting tool I've ever seen, I've used them all - however the Cobra I pilot with the mouse because of the ability to fire off so many rounds so quickly by clicking the mouse button, plus it seems to lend itself to a bit more precise controll with a mouse (it's so touchy).Alethal_05 wrote:
Anyone uses Joysticks to fly planes and helis in BF2?
I run sensitivity for pitch about 2 points higher than that of yaw on the helo's - don't fly jets much though - I would bet that joysticks are the answer for that though.
