Damn Purple Heart...

I have over 9,000 points so I don't consider myself a noob anymore, but I still got my first purple heart today. I was playing in Karkland and was going for my Valorous Unit Ribbon. I was playing as a Medic trailing the ass end of my squad trying my best to keep my squad leader and members alive, and rack up some heal and revive points. When about 3/4s of the way through I did it. I was awarded The Valorous Unit Ribbon. So I'm happy as can be skipping down Karkland Ave. not realizing I had 20 deaths and 4 kills. So about 30 seconds after I got my ribbon I shot a guy and was awarded The Purple Heart. ARRRRRGH.

Oh Well I guess I deserved it.

It looks nice in my collection anyway as long as it doesn't say x10 when I put my mouse over it.

Funny thing is I Healed, revived and capped so many flags that I still came in 4th place. My squad wasn't complaining either I got more "Thanks I owe you one"s then you can imagine. And my squad made sure Not to leave me behind when they jumped into a vehicle to get to the next flag.

I guess you can say that even though I wasn't scoring alot of kills I was still an asset to the squad.

it is a good thing, look at what its says on it.... *combat* outstanding.

i was playing today, i got 20 odd revives no kills 20 deaths, and on top, they tryed to kick me for padding till they saw what i was.

Im trying my best to avoid the purple heart, but with equal justice it could always serve as a reminder to the early days of playing BF2 and the lessons learnt since.

I just got mine on a map in wich our side was outnumbered by like 10 players.Playing a support role can be a bitch in situations like that but we won the round.I have no regrets getting it.

Many years ago, I used to play a helicopter game by microprose called gunship (not the rerelease they did in the last 5 years, we're talking pre-pentium days and more like 286/386 days). Man - microprose really knew how to crap up coding that's for sure anyway - that was the only medal I would ever get - but LOVED getting them. I was like 10 or something, anyways, I didn't mind getting my Purple heart on here cuz it makes me remember the good ol days
