How about then the best singleplayer game from past years. Usually singleplayer games get a lot of hype before release, are enjoyed by fans initially and then torn apart not too long afterwards (Bioshock and GTA IV come to mind). A singleplayer game that gets nominated and voted for might be more interesting than a multiplayer vote.
