End credits of The Ballad of Gay Tony, the final scene shows Packie exiting a cab with a bag around him at the airport, and then follows a plan taking off._j5689_ wrote:
They just wouldn't hire the same person twice for a character that isn't CJ though, that would be silly and redundant, lol.
It's too bad they consider the last generation GTAs and the current ones a different universe, it would be cool to see CJ again when he's like 40-something, lol. As it is though, we might see Packie from IV again, I remember somebody pointing out a scene where he enters the airport(I don't remember such a scene but apparently it happened)

I use to be able to launch BF3 and while Origin would launch too, it would automatically minimize itself to the taskbar. Now, Origin likes to stay open every time I launch the game.
Does Origin leave itself open whenever BF3 is launched for anyone else? Is there a way to turn that off?
That brings back memories of everyone spectating that last PLA player on Wake Island, yelling into the chat because he wouldn't capture a flag.globefish23 wrote:

The game ends immediately, if they don't have any flags left and no squad leader/member left to spawn on and recapture a flag.

That's what I'm afraid of - announcing a new 'numbered' version usually entails large new changes, and it seems too early for that. I'm hoping "BF4" is simply a code name, and the game will later surface to be either 2143, or something different then another generic, modern FPS.Little BaBy JESUS wrote:
However, if it's just a slightly shittier reworked version of BF3 then it will fulfil all of the CODesque prophecies.
I didn't make this, but I thought the knife animations in slow motion were pretty cool.

What FOV does everyone play at? I've maxed mine out to 90, and now I can't play at 70 without it feeling really weird. I guess it's a good thing - I love 90 FOV.
I must be one of the only people who still has fun being a lone wolf in BF3...
I hate the fact that you can't skip them - I'm forced to stare at my killer for the next 2-3 seconds. I wish I could skip it, or at least press a key to instantly take me to class customization right from the killcam.
I'm enjoying CQ - it's stupid fun and so easy to get into the action of the game. Trying to complete the new challenges at least keeps the game interesting, for now.
Bought Premium off GreenManGaming for $37.50 (US/Canada only) using their promotional 25% everything code. Since I had to pay $15 for B2K, I at least feel like i'm not completely screwing myself.
Looking forward to Armored Kill, and hopefully the packs after that will be interesting.

Mortars cannot be placed inside a spawn/protected area. Make sure you're in a spot both your team and the enemy team can reach when deploying the mortar.
If your controls are acting up, just reset all options, and slowly add your custom binds back one at a time to figure out the problem.

I don't have Premium and still enjoy the game like I did previously - I thought I'd immediately feel inferior or left out without it. I'll buy it once I want the expansions, but for now just CQ isn't enough for me.wensleydale8 wrote:
I was actually considering getting premium but, due to lack of funds and becoming somewhat bored of BF3 I decided not to bother and shifted my interests to Forza 4 and Fifa 12 personally it's no big loss I only tend to play it on the odd occasion so I don't feel like I'm missing out on a great deal.
Ended up getting 2 mortar kills on Canals HC, still a pain in the ass.
Is there any easy way to get 2 mortar kills? I find it just frustrating and impossible to use...
This is basically what I have and I can run BF3 on High @ 45-60 FPS, almost everything else maxed out. Although you don't need an 850W PSU, look for a good quality 600-700W.m3thod wrote:

I can vouch for this - I dropped mine only a week or two after I bought them which somehow fucked up the bass in them, Steelseries shipped out a new, factory sealed pair to me as a replacement. Can't argue with that.Brasso wrote:
can't go wrong with the steelseries siberia V2. damn thing is super comfy, mic is pretty quality, and their support is awesome.
long story about their support: my mic stopped working after i kept them in a backpack for a long trip (i didn't tell them that obviously), i sent the headphones back, they sent a different model back (the black USB ones instead of my analog black and golds), i said i wanted the black and golds, they said it was technically a $10 upgrade and that they were out of stock of the B&Gs, i said i really wanted the B&Gs, they said i could keep the USB pair and ask for a pair of B&Gs in mid-June (i am waiting on a ticket response right now actually), and i could keep both.
tl;dr - SS support gave me two headphones to replace a pair of headphones that broke because they were mistreated: free $120 achieved

No, on PC there are "Premium only" servers where you have to be a premium member in order to join that server. Luckily there aren't that many of them, but it's still total bullshit.
So did this work for you? I heard EA was getting wise to this and was starting cancel/invalidate purchases that didn't trace back to Indian banks/credit cards...Spidery_Yoda wrote:
Well after 3 days of wondering whether or not my cheap-assed premium purchase from India would work, and no money being taken from my account, the money has finally gone this morning.
I assume that means it worked.
Yeah, I never understood why they didn't do a PC port of RDR - that game would of sold like hot cakes on Steam, in stores, etc. I'm actually surprised they did LA Noire - as when I tried to play it, the game is locked at 30 FPS (due to the facial animations, I think), and it doesn't support 16:10 resolutions without the picture looking stretched or squished. The visuals were nice, but the controls were awful - I'll have to try it on console.
MP3 was done by Rockstar Vancouver, and they seemed to do a good job. As long as Rockstar Toronto doesn't do the GTA V port, we might be okay.
I really hope Rockstar North develops a PC version alongside the console versions...

The controversy stemmed from the fact that the content already existed in the game - basically it was a cut feature of the game (something a developer likely added early on) and instead of removing it, they just disabled it. The infamous "hot coffee" mod just re-enabled this feature - the cutscenes, controls, etc. already existed. Add to the fact that people were releasing Xbox and PS2 specific "hot coffee" mods, the ESRB had to step in. Rockstar released GTA: SA V2.0 in response - basically the exact same game but with the sex scenes removed entirely.globefish23 wrote:
Well, but how could the ESRB increase the rating anyway, for a single, non-functional feature, that can only be enable with hacks?
The ESRB don't subsequently change the rating of a game because someone creates a mod that changes the game.
E.g. nude patches for Tomb Raider games come to my mind.
Other mods (like Tomb Raider, Sims, etc. nude mods) are often entire creations of the mod's developer - they create the graphics, animations, etc. and since this content is additional and not part of the original game, it doesn't qualify a re-rating.
Nothing yet, but everyone is expecting something soon since Max Payne 3 has released.justice wrote:

It seems like any Rockstar PC game takes at least 3-4 patches before it's stable enough to enjoy. GTA IV wasn't good until the 1.0.3.0/1.0.4.0 patches._j5689_ wrote:
It looks like the PC port of Max Payne is pretty buggy and has a lot of issues with PC-specific things like which OSes it works on, mouse sensitivity troubles, and not initially being able to detect how much RAM a graphics card has, hopefully it's at least stable and hopefully it's not this bad with GTA V's PC port
I'm just glad they've set down the framework - a PC release of Max Payne 3 with DX11 and higher quality visuals makes it promising that GTA V will come to PC. I'd be worried if they had been doing nothing...
How much? I'll probably pick it up when it's on sale or drops to $20 or $30.Blade4509 wrote:
So Counter Strike: Global offensive finally has a release date of August 21, 2012. Anyone planning on playing?
Yeah I'd be into doing this as well, come back after all the hype dies down, maybe score Premium or DLC during a sale and see if it's any fun then.mtb0minime wrote:
I need a swift kick in the balls because I'm willing to try the game again a month or two after they release the last dlc and have hopefully hammered out most of the issues. I played bf2 for quite a while after the last patch was released. Would be great to be able to do that again.
I'm so naive.
Exactly. It feels like EA literally just cut the community in half - and if you're not with premium, then fuck you.mtb0minime wrote:

A lot of people have said it's treating them like someone playing free vs. a paying customer in an F2P game, especially with jumping server queues because you have premium. Except that everyone paid to play the game. So stupid.
Apparently the AC-130 is on rails. Source.
Gun game is fun in CS, but I don't know if it will be any good in BF3. Why do they keep trying to make BF3 this "cure-all" game to conquer every aspect of FPS gaming? Leave BF3 to the big, sandbox vehicular gameplay and leave the CQ intense infantry fights to CoD and MoH...

This is bittersweet - their classic-style keyboard is one of the features that made Lenovo unique, however from a design standpoint the new "island-style" have a cleaner, more modern look. I don't know what to think - we'll see what the reviewers have to say.
I'd imagine they want to move all Battlefield discussion to the Battlelog forums, but those are just as much a joke anyways.

I don't see the point - a single GTX 570 maxes everything out, what more do you want/need? The only remotely system-intensive game I can think of that might require a better card is Max Payne 3, but I still would imagine the GTX 570 would run it at full settings.

I dont really feel I should have to hook up a smaller monitor just for playing this game. I have a 21" in the closet but I dont see the point in dragging it out since the 37" was its replacement
Otherwise, ensure you're sitting a good distance (4-6 feet) away from the screen, take breaks/don't focus so hard, and try to enjoy the game. I typically only play BF3 in 1-2 hour segments at most, usually I play a couple rounds and I'm done.

Conquest on all of those maps are a lot of fun - as you can tear it up in a vehicle, or ground pound instead and still have a fun match.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

The BF2 maps are still the best by miles.
They should look hard at them and try and realise that vehicle maps don't have to be a massive expanse of open ground with 5 buildings clustered in the center, and infantry maps don't have to be a tiny tunnel or cramped alleyway chokepoints.

This makes sense and is much more proportionate to the map sizes - I wish DICE would limit TDM on all platforms to 12v12 matches.
