I say we get a damn good map rotation going. Here is what we got right now:
Karkand - 32
Sharqi - 32
Dalian - 16
Clean Sweep - 32
Wake - 32
Mashtuur - 32
Kubra - 32
Gulf of Oman - 32

Not so great, I think we need a few more, and in a good order. Discuss...

Okay, here is how I'd do it.

Gulf-32
Wake-32
Sharqi-32
Mashtuur-32
Karkand-32
Kubra-32
Dragon Valley-32
Songhua-32

Get rid of Clean Sweep and Dalian. Add in other maps which you can have alot more interesting combat (i.e. Dragon and Songhua). Plenty of variety on those maps. Start off on the oceanic areas, then into the cities, then into the countryside.

What do you guys think?

Actually I enjoy Dalian 16 player quite a bit. I think Chuy does as well. As far as Clean Sweep goes... I don't know, we would have to take a vote on that one I actually like that map.

I absolutely hate Operation Clean Sweep. We definitely need to bring Songhua into the rotation. Also I think Thursdays should be SF day and Fridays EF/AF day.

I would take Kubra and Cleasn Sweep out, and rotate it so it's a city map every other roung.

i.e.

Dalian
Karkand
Daqing
Mashtuur
Gulf
Sharqi
Songhua
Karkand

Negative on Songhua! Keep Dalian and Cleansweep. Putting city maps first don't help fill the server, because it'll be on Karkand forever when we're waiting for people to join. And when it's Karkand, a lot of people (me included) want something with choppers and jets so they can practice or fuck around.

I think we should add FuShe.

Using Sharqi as starter then should solve your problem ..... crowded citymap with choppers ....

I think Oman is a good starter map. 2 choppers, 4 jets, armor, places to have a sniper war, and knife battles.

At least one day of an all infantry map rotation. Something like Kark, Shark, Mash, and Great Wall.

Good 'ole Shongua, the map where you spend everything after the first minute in the other team's base.

I'd like to see Dragon Valley, FuShe, and Zatar added in some form. Probably the 32 player option, I know that's the best one for Zatar. My poor beautiful Zatar, it never gets any love.

I also really like the idea of thematic days, but I bet it's hard to program into the server settings.

If it is possible, here's what I was thinking:

Sun - SF
Mon - All vanilla maps
Tues - EF/AF
Wed - SF
Thurs - EF/AF
Fri - City Maps
Sat - All vanilla maps

Edited my rotations. After further reflection my original ideas could be improved upon, so I did.

I like Clean Sweep myself, but agree with Trig on everything else. I personally like ALL the maps whether they be SF or Vanilla+boosters.

The Current Map Rotation on the US server is Wake, Sharqi and Mastuur

Dalian was on the map rotation also, as #1, No-one came in the server,

This morning like 8.30 AM GMT +1, I`ve deleted Dalian, Put on Wake, and in about 2 minutes, 2 guys joined

Now I`m at school (10.17 AM GMT +1) There are 2 other guys on I`ve seen on the game monitor on BF2s so I think that Wake MUST be in the map rotation. It`s just like putting a jar of honey opened in the back yard, The insects, bee`s etc will come! This is the same with the map Wake

Perhaps we can put Road to Jalalabad, Karkand or some other great maps on

Please people,

Post your suggestions to make the US Server great!

#1 map should be Sharqi. Dalian is a great map. We've had some awesome rounds on the server with that map. Add FuShe and/or Dragon. And Oman.

Actually, just put on everything but Songhua and Karkand.

It has taken me, cablecopulate, DaReJa, Chuy and a few others idling an hour or more to get this server going ... and it is very frustrating to see the map change "themes" and then everyone drop off.

You see, when people initially join a Wake or a Dalian, they are typically joining because of the air element ... the last two nights in a row, the map has switched from these "air" maps to more of a ground based engagement (e.g. Mashtuur), people leave, and the server becomes nearly empty again. Bleh.

For now, perhaps we can pick a theme and go with it (I would love to see the theme changing during the week).

If we go with an air theme, then pick 3-4 from this list: Sharqi or Wake to start, Dalian, Dragon, Oman, Clean Sweep, Kubra, FuShe, Daqing, etc. (personally, I'm not a big fan of Wake or FuShe, and I HATE Zatar ... but I'm flexible).
If we go with a ground theme, then: Sharqi to start, Jalalabad, Mashtuur, and perhaps even Songhua/Karkand (even though cablecopulate will probably make me airsick again by saying this ).
And, let's not forget a special forces theme, then: Ghost, Warlord, Mass Destruction ... Gator.

I wouldn't even mind a POE2 night ...

My basic point is that I believe we need to build up a regular group of players first before we can switch themes during the evening without everyone dropping off ...

Once again, Wake transitions to Mashtuur and the games stop ....

(Don't get me wrong, I like Mashtuur much more than Wake, but ...)
