That's a nice Power Supply. I went with the 850 but the Corsair's are great!

I have a modular Corsair 620W and I'm pretty sure that's plenty for a modern day single-GPU build considering new hardware cuts power-usage...

either EVGA GTX570/80 SLI (still debating if I want to get the 580, change my mind almost hourly)

its a little overkill but I prefer to have ample power rather than "adequate" power.

That list is Canins... I was saying his was nice and saying i bought the PSU for my build.

I agree that you want to have the extra power should you need it without having to replace your power suppoly later down the road. If you can afford it it's well worth it in the long run.

Just curious why you like the 570 or 580 better than the AMD 5970 or 5990? I keep going back and forth on them.

I fell in love with AMD with my 5850, served me well for two years.  However, I've been looking at benchmarks between the AMD 6000 series and the  Nvidia 500 series and the thing that has sold me on them is the average MINIMUM frames per second.  As this is the lowest mark I could expect to hit on load.  They are generally higher than the AMD counterparts.

Plus, I've read the 6970 get rather loud...

I have 2 Asus GTX570 DCII's in SLI and they perform like a dream.
Depending on the 570 make/model (MSI TFIII, ASUS DCII or EVGA classified) they can easily surpass stock GTX580 speeds, if you overclock the cards. The VRMs on the cards I just listed are excellent so they can take it like a champ.  (When I only had one DCII, I oc'd it to (950/1900/2100 @1.1V) and it made a Factory Overclock EVGA 580 my brother has look like a joke).
Now mind you, DCII's in SLI...well you're gonna need a heap of room. If you go classified, no problem at all.

That being said, GTX580s in SLi are on a whole, other level.

The question is: do you want to spend the extra cash?

Well the chassis is going to be the 800D.  do you mean room in regards to bus spacing?  If so, the z68 pro I already purchased is just ATX.

That's what I thought. I was going to order stuff from a website with friends and we were going to split the shipping costs... saw this and was like, fuck my friends! XD (still ordering, though: internal 2TB and Mushkin RAM coming next week!)

4 hours to go on my backup according to Windows 7. Music, pictures and documents are all moved over - now it's the videos copying themselves over. 584GB and I've got 377GB to go.

No I'm not, just the normal Windows 7 file management. Care to go into more detail? I'm reading the website at the moment, but if you can go into detail, that'd be lovely.

(1 hour, 197GB remaining)

EDIT: I really wonder if Teracopy makes a difference. Apparently for XP it does quite a bit but in a modern OS like Win7?

its makes copy/cut + pasting BLAAAAAAST through like a motherfucker. Seriously.  Get it.  The best bit is its free.  Dont have to do anything outside your normal file management tasks, just the usual right click cut/copy and when you paste teracopy takes over.

if you're not using then prepared to have your socks knocked off when you do.  I have 4 hard drives and moving stuff around became a brezze.

edit

i have windows 7 64 and yep still dystroys windows.
