Certain returning members ( see Ig ) are allowed back in because underneath it all we see that they are cool. Certain are allowed back because of pity, and others perhaps as shark bait. This makes no sense.  You're basically contradicting your own statement and rules.  You're saying that you can continue to break the rules and get perma banned but you will eventually get let back in because you are popular even though, it is likely you will do the same thing and get banned again?  However, if you aren't apt to say things like "fail, wat, lolwut" or other internet e-peen nonsense, and basically aren't as popular, you will get banned permanently no matter what unless you come begging to get let in?  Interesting logic.

Then there really isn't a punishment for being disruptive or just being a total ass other than a loss of an account.  Any one person can come back after being perma-banned and pretend to be "reformed" then proceed to revert back to their ways that got them banned knowing full well they will be able to simply make another account and then spew their idiocy throughout these forums.  This is probably one of the main culprits of loss of membership here.  The favoritism is evident which alienates other members who feel that if they say something out of turn, they will get banned while other members can do whatever they want get banned but get a 8th, 9th chance simply because they are say things that are supposed to be funny but really aren't......ok.

Your in depth analysis of the forum would actually hold some weight if you posted here for more than once a month.

He still reads the forum, maybe he knows more about what's going on here than you or anyone else for that matter. Number of posts don't equal forum awareness

Just saying it would mean a lot more if he posted regularly, and went on to complain about the forum dynamic rather then quit posting and only come back to tell everyone ho disappointed he is or how flawed the forums are. He only comes back here to complain.

Even Androo was just let back in, I'm not saying he shouldn't be, he's been talking to me on xfire recently and told me he would post normally if he could come back with his name, so it's fair enough. But who actually would never be allowed back?

k I know this has been posted before, but I feel some of killer's points have not been adequately addressed so here we go.

Assumption: We cannot keep anyone out who truly wants in. We can do a good job, we can do an especially good job if we follow Detective Orangehound's lead to the letter, but anyone who has a penny's worth of brains and a lot of perseverance can get in. That is just the nature of the internet.

If we can't keep someone out who wants to be here, we might as well let anyone in so long as they are behaving. A sort of moral ideal of you get to stay, you aren't allowed here anymore is silly because of how easily it can be circumvented. The determining factor on who stays and goes is based primarily on practical, not ideological merit.

That is not to say that there is no punishment for being banned. No matter what they say, many care about their days registered, their karma, their name, and everyone cares about their reputation in some form or fashion. Not to mention the pain in the ass of either circumventing the approval process by going through 7 proxies and creating a fake identity or of having annoying people with internet power ask you really stupid questions about why they should let you in this time.

That's not to say that we let everyone in either. Occasionally there are exceptions to those who have consistently acted in highly toxic manner towards BF2S. That is to say not consistently riding the line on subjective, borderline content, but frequently demonstrating their inability to understand where the line between attempting to have fun for yourself on the internet and in taking away the rights of others to do so.

That is my opinion, and without putting words in his mouth I think chuy's reasoning for the policy is largely a derivative of the above (as from what I understand from his previous posts on the matter).
