Return of the Battlefield Heroes Beta
Hello Heroes!
The Battlefield Heroes team is almost ready to start the second phase of the closed beta! It’s been great to see so many of you showing so much interest already!
You may be wondering what we’ve been up to the past few months, and how this new beta phase will be different from the last time the beta was live…
The main thing we’ve been working on is building a new back-end and web system for the game. This means the Heroes website will look better and run faster and the forums, character profiles and stats will be leaner, cleaner, and meaner! We’ve redesigned and rebuilt the system that allows you to buy Battlefunds (virtual currency), earn Valor Points (in-game rewards), and to spend them on character customisation items like hats, weapons, and emotes.
We’ve also been working on improving what you see and feel in-game. We’ve fine-tuned our hit detection and made some balance improvements. We’ve hammered away on many of the bugs you were experiencing. We’ve even worked on some new customisation items and designed some new maps. These are things we will continue to work on throughout the beta and beyond.
Our aim is to bring the beta back up some time this February. Stay tuned to the Heroes site for the exact date!
If you haven’t already signed up or have friends that still want to sign up, you can read about how to do so here.
See you on the Battlefield!

More on the beta and some FAQs around it...
What is a beta?
The Beta phase is like a rehearsal for the launch. We test everything out with a small audience before allowing the rest of the world to play. In a beta, you are likely to find lots of small things that don't work as they should. We call these things “bugs”. We'll need your help in finding these bugs so we can eliminate them. With your help, once we're confident in the results of the beta, we'll open up Battlefield Heroes to the rest of the world.
Beta FAQs
Q) I was in the last beta phase, how do I get into this one.
A) You don't have to apply for a new beta key. On the day we reopen the beta (to be announced), just login to the beta site, create a hero, and play now!
Q) I didn't get an email when I signed up for the beta?!?!? What's going on?
A) That's ok, you will receive an email from us once you are accepted into the beta.
I got it too.
It's still gonna suck.

Thing is, they need to get the game out soon, they'll get loadsa people download it because it's a free game. But TF2's class updates are going to kick the shit out of any game (except F1 2009) this year (and possibly next year too) :DDD
I forgot this game even existed.
Valve say they see a ~20% uptake in sales whenever they have a class pack released. So yeah. You're wrong.TimmmmaaaaH wrote:

Because Valve never lies to us about anything.Spidery_Yoda wrote:

i played bad company for a while.. its was good but not at the level of BF2. i think they should stop personalizing BF and make another BF2 like game like BF3
Anyone receive a invite to the second beta?

I hope it comes out soon. They pushed the deadline so many times now they won't even say when it will be released anymore. All it says is, "It will be released for the PC as a free downloadable game."
Ffs, its actually a good thing that they are testing the game for once. Else you will just get a bugfilled game like BF2.aerodynamic wrote:

I'm still waiting for my cd key.
The irony of guns, is that they can save lives.
They never mailed me a CD Key. I just clicked the link to reset my security layer password and it said that my CD Key for the second beta was automatically linked to my EA Account. I can play the game too.

Nature is a powerful force. Those who seek to subdue nature, never do so permanently.
I assume that in the original email the word "here" was a link.Im_Dooomed wrote:
