Good luck man. Take it nice and easy nice and slow. I'm from NY too, and I know way too many people who failed their road test. Aced mine the first time. That was 3 years ago. Now I drive a nice car. And I got it myself and paying for insurance myself too. Paying out the ass for it though. Overall monthly payment for the car and insurance is 1,000. So good luck and enjoy!

As the subject states, I believe my RAM is not being measured correctly. I bought the laptop less than 2 years ago. It's a HP DV9009NR Laptop. I've read the specs online and it says it comes stock with 2GB of RAM. I just ran a program called CPU-Z and that too says I have 2 GB of RAM, 1024MB on Slot 1 and 1024 on Slot 2. But when I open my Computer Properties(Right click on My Computer>Properties), it only shows that I have 960 MB of RAM. Any reasons as to why it does this? Is one of my RAM cards dead? Thanks in advance for all the replies.
Alright, so I guess the thing I'm really asking for is... HOW to buy a car. LOL. Sorry.
Basically a point A to B car. Budget is less than 5,000 probably as I am only in California until July. If the car runs fine, maybe I'll take it home to NY with me.{HMS}_Sir_Del_Boy wrote:
It would help if you mentioned wot your budget is, along with your needs/criteria/requirements.nonexistentusmc wrote:

Also, how do I know a car that is busted from one that is not?

Well, both answers are correct. It all depends on whether you are using memory as in RAM, or memory as in storage.
RAM is 1024 MB = 1 GB
HDD storage is 1000 MB = 1 GB
RAM is 1024 MB = 1 GB
HDD storage is 1000 MB = 1 GB
1000 MB in 1 GB
GB is bigger than MB, just as MB is bigger than KB.
GB is bigger than MB, just as MB is bigger than KB.

This video would definitely be most appealing to whoever is in the service and is away from their family, whether it be across the pond, or even within CONUS. Sure brought a tear to my eye.
The Star Spangled Banner... mostly the end part... Land of the free, home of the brave. Oorah!
If you want to be an officer, make sure you don't just stop at the Junior ROTC level. College ROTC is the one that gives you your commission, or you can attend one of the Academies. Other than that, you'll be fine. JROTC is pretty much a joke compared to the real deal. My final drill in bootcamp was the most intense drill session I've ever had. The parade deck is huge, compared to JROTC which usually has small decks or indoor gyms to use. Drill is fun, I used it to get my gf back my sophomore year by winning individual knockout, came out first on top of 30.
Drill meaning movement of formations. Just wanted to be on the same page. Some people think of drills as exercises or something.MAGUIRE93 wrote:

Depends on which branch of JROTC you do. I was in Air Force, so we learned about Air Force drill and PT and aeronautical science. You get to do a lot of field trips to Air Force bases and fly in the planes... but not fly them. You do drill a lot, so learn to love it. And it can promote you up to E-3 depending on the branch of service you enlist in. I enlisted USMC, so the max the Marine Corps gives is E-2 and that's what I got.MAGUIRE93 wrote:

I was in JROTC, it helps get some kind of discipline in you if you want to join the military(all depending on how serious you take JROTC). They should have some really good leadership courses for you to take during the summer. It's similar to the boyscouts I guess.

Heck yeah! I got some karmas from that topic. LOL!
Well I just went and had some drinks with some of the Marines here. Fun times at the bowling alley. Um yeah, the new tan boots and cammies require almost no effort. The creases are like permanent, and wrinkle free. No need to iron.
Camp Wilson is a long hike from the main base, especially without a vehicle. I don't even think Stud Personnel are allowed to go over there. But I definitely will find out lol. Sounds like an interesting place.SEREMAKER wrote:

Aahaha...29 stumps huh? I was there for 9 months for my MOS school. Nothing but dirt, dirt and more dirt. Congrats. I haven't been there in 10 years but when I was there, it was nothing to do but PT or look at the sand. I would imagine they have built somethings there by now..
Well, it's still sand sand sand. But I was here in 2005 and I think they built a lot more fast food joints since then. What was your MOS?killer21 wrote:

I just dislike being so isolated. And since I'm not fresh from boot, I can't really fit in too well with most of these Marines that are. I guess when I pick up class it'll be better. The Single Marine Program should help too I guess. Right now I'm just voluteering for every working party/detail just to get out of my room and see something different.
Where were you when you were here? Or, what were you doing?SEREMAKER wrote:

Yeah, I'm in Comm school. LOL. It's pretty cold now, but the heat is just around the corner.
The worst thing after the boredom and solidarity is the PT. Running uphill every other half mile is a bitch. LOL.
Actually, I don't know if they counted right, there's more than 29 palms here lol.cablecopulate wrote:

So here I am, stationed in Twentynine Palms, CA until the 17th of July. I don't have a car here. Basically, I want to know how to make the time go by because being here sucks. Someone please help? LOL. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. ;D
Wasnt Drew Carey in this show?
Google books? Wikipedia?
Yeah, would be nice. I felt that the SP on this game is fairly short. Another 10 or so missions doing an offensive should be interesting.
EDIT: BTW, I really felt for that part with Bannon. It's just a game but wow, sacrifice!

LOL, I worked for a companies mailroom, and we accept packages from the 3 major couriers all the time. DHL has the lowest incoming volume, with UPS having the most for Ground shipments and FedEx having the most for envelope/document shipments. Shows you that something is up with DHL.
Well I found the request form along with the TOS. I don't think she'll be spreading so much STDs, at least there won't be skin to skin contact and she can decline for "hygienic reasons".

Command and Conquer music! YES! I LOVE THAT SHIT! +1! And, nice vid as well. LOL
I'd say wait for it, you made the move, you did what you had to do... drunk or not. Now the ball is in her court, so all you do is wait. If you feel like you regret sending the message, then the no response should be a good thing, better than a NO WE CANT CHAT. But since you do like her, then a no response makes it kinda tense, along with making you anxious and worrisome because you think she probably hates you now! But either way, like I said, you did what you had to do, so good on you!
This should make up for all the TK/Suicide/Team Vehicle Damage negative points that I got.
Yes, it's a marker for the air refueling door. I think most if not all USAF aircraft have it. The Navy uses a drogue and chute method, so there's no need for markers in their aircraft. The USMC uses naval aircraft as well, but I don't know how refueling is done on the USMC F35.
Yes, OA-10 is FAC but still only a USAF plane. The OV-10 is a dual engine propeller aircraft used I believe back as early as Vietnam for FAC and CAS and the USMC did use the Broncos(OV-10 nickname).Hurricane wrote:

P.S. It's all a team effort in the service anyway. Not much to brag about.
Erm, forward air control

I guess that's another thing I can brag about... knowledge of aircraft. ;D
Or just "pack"? That new ILBE is heavy as shit. Anyway, it's good to hear about Iraq stories. I'm still looking forward to my first deployment, which is undetermined at this time.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

Well, in the larger scale, us helping him could end up him helping us. Maybe he can give us info or something? Who knows? Just because he is the enemy doesn't necessarily mean death for him right away. There are many different possible reasons as to why we decided to help him survive instead of letting him rot. And I'm pretty sure this has happened before, I just can't exactly point it out in my head right now.
That Royal Marine commercial is pretty intense, I sure as hell would hate to be in that tight spot, underwater and stuck partially. Pretty good sh!t overall!
Oh hell no, I'm in one of the screenies getting killed. =x
I give his wife/gf/sister/mom/daughter whoever it is a heck of a lot of credit for being able to go through that gruesome scene of nastiness coming out of his chin. I only know a handful of females who can put up with crap like that. Amazing!

Yeah, good rounds in the beginning. I left because it was starting to get scarce, and also to avoid my purple heart. Which I probably got anyway. But either way, it's good to have fun with some familiar names, people from this forum especially! Thanks guys!
I'm comin'!
I don't know if it is all that serious. I think they are just trying to sell a product. You see that kinda stuff all the time everywhere. I don't think it is taking advantage of anything. It's just there to catch the customers eye, just like it did yours. Maybe not in the way they wanted to, but it did anyway. I'm pretty sure they were just implying that there's a lot of good "berry" in the pie, and not picking on little kids "speech impediments". That's my two cents.
