Well, you could go and replace the screen and while you're at it, install one of those nifty 80 GB HDD's! Thats what I would do (personally) since you're already in there anyways and the warranty is voided.
I can't even launch BF2 anymore. After playing a week or so, it just tried and then crashes completely.
Where is the yellow-brick road?
#1 has less photoshop, ergo, its better.
Think of this, it will run, but who said anything about playability?DarkNova wrote:

BF2 runs all in high setting as well
I would say go with the 7900, the SM3.0 and other new features make it a better purchase option. Especially since a single 7900 will probably get roughly equal or better performance. Keep in mind that is a speculation on my part.
I had a friend who played CS with his mouse lefty, and he still used WSAD for movement. If it really comes down to it, try ESDF instead of the default. But really, arrow keys are horrible (in my opinion) for any type of gaming. They are separated from everything else, which may mean easy access, but in reality they deprive you of the ability to rapidly press binds that are otherwise available.
I simply have no karma at all. I'm not active enough for people to like/dislike me.
I've been running an X-Fi Platinum for a few months now and haven't had any problems. I installed it on an old copy of XP-Pro that was running motherboard drivers. (see below for system specs.) I popped it in, installed the drivers. Launched the game, cranked up the Audio Settings to X-FI (or max or whatever) Enabled all the options for it. And had no issues. Sounds like a dream. Some things that may help are making sure you're in 'gaming mode' as I notice things sound different in games in other modes, might also cause problems, I'm not sure. I originally ran the drivers that came with the card for a while, and those worked. But I recently switched to the beta drivers. You might want to try those and see if they help.
Here are my system specs:
Abit AN8 nForce 4
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1 GB Corsair XMS
2 120 GB HDD's (Hitatchi and Seagate)
X-Fi Platinum (running beta drivers)
[If I left anything out just let me know -- I'm not all here right now (or ever)]

I plan on buying a couple of these next chance I get: http://www.newegg.com/product/product.a … 6822148140
In the name it says "Perpendicular Recording", basically means more space per platter. Higher read/write rate, etc.
I've always liked Seagate. I have a Hitachi DeskStar and a Seagate. Both have performed well for me. I've had the Seagate for over 3.5 years now and it hasn't crapped out on me yet! But you know, hard drives are fickle. Some last, some don't.

I personally look forward to it, I don't know why. Both this and ET: QW look great, in my opinion. For what its worth anyways...
No, you don't have to have SF to get them. However, if you DO have SF, you can get them faster by playing a few rounds to open up new unlocks.(HUN)Rudebwoy wrote:
sorry if this question has already been asked somewhere else, but do i get those 2nd unlocks (L96A1, P90) ONLY if I have Special Forces?
Uh, there are people with over 3000 knife kills.
"Important Info! – Your unlocks for BF2:SF are only available when playing BF2. You can “take these back” to regular BF2 once you unlock them."
Part of this is wrong. Unlocks for BF2:SF can be used in BF2:SF, but you have to be using the right faction to utilize them. For instance, you can use the SCAR-L if you're a spec-force on an american map.
If I remember correctly.

Its the x1800, as far as I know, and its already out.
I currently have 1GB, but am planning to upgrade to 2GB as soon as is feasible.
Alienwares are HIGHLY overpriced. Besides, Custom is much better, IMO. Since i like to tinker, but thats just me.
You need to get the one that is "Crossfire Ready" or whatever. They released a second edition (I believe) that is crossfire-compatable. I don't believe the original is, however.
I'm pretty sure those badges need to be "Vetran" badges instead of "Basic."slidero wrote:
If you have all the basic badges at 50k, you get Sergeant Major. If not, Master Gunnery Sergeant.
Right now working as a Jeweler for Sterling Inc. (Kays, JB Robinson, Jared, etc..) Its pretty crappy, trying to get out ASAP. Hopefully will be able to get a job at Lockheed Martin as a Security Guard get a TS clearance, go to school and become an engineer.
Thanks for the information, I'll try it out since my DSL is pretty crappy.
Actually "B" only talks to your squad and "V" only talks to the commander.CackNBallz wrote:
EDIT: Oh, and by the way to use the VoIP chat you have to be in a squad and you have to hold B to talk. If you are a squad leader holding B speaks to both your squad and your commander, holding V speaks only to your commander. Just trying to start from the basics as that is usually the cause of a lot of problems.
Yes you can, just make sure you hit "Retrieve Account."
Click "Manage Accounts" and then it should be under there.

Well, on the US Fighters/Bombers you want to aim near the top of the verticle line. On the Chinese/MEC fighters/bombers you want to aim at approximately center of the line above the horizontal scale. If you think about the HUD's overlayed the top of one another, the US bombing HUD is approximately center of the MEC/China bombing HUD. Hope this helps. Viewing the videos gives you a good idea too.

I think that the "Nationality" setting either has to do with the army you spend the most time playing as, or the region of your game.
Its probably more than likely the army you spend the most time playing as.

This is because you are experiencing the infamous bug in the XML feed. Either you never used this site before to access your stats (Like me) or you just got unlucky and it stopped working, period.
Either way, once the bug in the XML feed from EA is fixed then you will see your stats once again. For further information direct your attention to: http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=5902

Well, you could definately use a new(er) video card. You don't need the biggest and fanciest, its kind of a waste of money. I've been looking around recently and something in the $200-300 price range would probably be sufficient.
ATI X850XT or GeForce 6800 GT should do pretty well. Definately PCI-Express, since its where graphics are headed. Since you're running a Pentium Processor (I am assuming you are sticking with that) then you might also want to upgrade to DDR2 as its clocked faster.

I appologize that I hadn't actually found prior threads with the same information, or pertaining to the same subject before starting my own. I did perform a search, however I guess I didn't narrow my parameters enough to come up with what I actually needed to find.
Ok, sorry for not supplying my username/UID. I hadn't really thought much about it being due to the SF expansion, considering I had never checked my stats here until after I had played SF since I didn't even know about the site.
Thanks for your reply.
My username is Zedman and my UID is 43470393

Ok, so I've tried checking my stats for my username/UID from this site and they don't appear. I know it says you need atleast 100 Global Points. I am a Staff seargent right now, and I can't view my stats here. I've viewed them on other sites, but it won't work here for some reason. I can even view my friend's stats.
Any ideas?
