Placed an order last night for the rest of my computer.

I got...

Case: Cooler Master Centurion 5
CPU: AMD Athlong 64 3800+ Single Core
Vid Card: eVGA 7950 512MB(600/1450)
Memory: Cosair 2x1GB DDR800 5-5-5-12
PSU: Thermatake 430W PSU
Game: BF2142

And some misc items but I think I like it!! Its going to rock playing BF2 and BF2142!!!

Nice rig, but is it just me or is that PSU a bit on the low side for such a rig.
And knowing AMD's will overclock quite easy, i would have gone for 500W. and with a decent ammount of Ampéres on the 12V rail.

Why do I have to go with core 2? I don't mind them or anything but I wanted something with power for a single core. Dual core is not too attractive to me after my first one. I thought about getting a second dual core system but the problems that I had with the first one kept me from making that choice.

Now who wants to show me how to play BF2142 when I get it?

Lot of my decisions where based on $$$ simple as that. I opted for a good video card over anything else. I don't really want the new video cards. Won't have vista and time soon. And why I choose single core? Answer is in an above statement.

Man nice pc i was thinking about making a pc a bit like that but with a 7900 graphics card.

sounds card it sucks

I was thinking about upgrading

Your CPU is very overclockable. If you have the CPU that I'm thinking, the 3800+ Venice, then you can get it up to 2.7GHz stable. I'm running it at 2.64 right now perfectly and that is 10%.

The PSU will be fine. I don't plan on adding anything else to the computer. Just sticking with that. I also purchase a new monitor yesterday.(Link) I'll tell you what though i'm going to max out the settings in BF2 and BF2142 and have a blast.

hey man I was there. I was running a 6600 AGP with 1GB of dual channel ram and a 2800XP a while back and moved to a 3800 X2 939 and did'nt see all the much improvemnt. I'll also tell you how the monitor is when I recieve it thursday.
