More realistically, they have hardware that can't run anything newer (excluding Linux for argument's sake), compatibility issues (I have a couple win98 PCs are work b/c of this), don't use a computer enough to justify the cost of an upgrade etc etc. There are lots of possible reasons. I have two PCs running XP, a Mac with OSX and two other machines...still running 98SE. And believe it or not, I still need them for apps I can't run in XP, downloading songs and so on. One of them is just a typewriter machine, it's a Pentium (Pentium I)! and the other is a very powerful PIII. I should get rid of the Pentium, right? Geez! I have it since more than ten years!

I install Win 98SE on old PC's I repair a get back running to give to people without PCs. Win 98SE works for this because these PC's don't meet XP's specs, or just barely and the Software, if you can find it, can be cheap. I normally get the CD's and Product Keys off of machines that have died and recycle 'em.

It's a bunch of bums and poor foreigners that just want to use a comp for the basics and can't afford to upgrade to XP. I remember way back like ten years ago when my dad let me use a Windows 3.0 when I was around 4 years old.
