I have nearly 600 hrs on bf2. I did meet hackers but not as much as you say. When I was server admin in clan (Not anymore I quit due to inactivity started playing lately again) I did PB screen shot some people with hacks too

Dude that was either single player or LAN and the player doing that was probably also running the server and had just modded some files... you can't do that on PB internet servers, and actually, I've never seen anyone really hacking... just some luckers and some high skilled players.-101-InvaderZim wrote:

The most blatent thing that I thought was a hack at first was seeing an APC drive over two of my AT mines. Both mines blew-up but the APC did not. I got killed by him and then a tank blew up the APC. I feel a bit sorry for anyone trying to get into the game for the first time, as with the amount of experienced players around the learning curve is really steep,and I've heard of a lot of new players giving up after a few days fed up of being cannon fodder. Shame you can't have servers for lower rank players to learn the game, but doubtless you'd get people setting up second accounts to go and own everyone on them.....

Ive seen two very suspicious players/hacks in my life.
1. Ran around the corner of this building, they had no UAV up (no commander even, I was just switched by the server so I knew). Yet there was someone who was waiting around the corner and started firing before I got to the corner.
2. I dont know if you consider a macro a hack, but I kind of do since its like an unfair advantage. But this guy was crouch prone spamming and I never saw him where he was just running straight. I avoided him and just defended surv post though.

You don't have to ruin the install, just copy the "bf2" folder in the '/mods' folder. Rename it to something like 'singleplayer' or something, and mod away.Defiance wrote:

erm look at my stats and look at yrs.
I got a good chuckle when you posted about being sniped by an AT guy. Yeah, that's a pure hack in action however I found a few good servers where you are not dead within 1 shot. I also noticed my ping is around 10-25 at times. I think the patch 1.3 did something to increase lag. I can find myself shooting people who are just standing there for several seconds not doing anything, specially if they are spawning. But yea, hackers do exist and the AT guy sniping people at long range is definitely one of them.
Side note...is it just me or is the sniper pistol a lot better then the regular hand guns? I can head shot someone with the sniper pistol in 2-3 shots while the regular hand guns take me 4-5 shots. Go figure...I am not looking for an un-expert opinion on the matter just and observation.
But take the haters with a grain a salt most who complain "hacks don't exist" are hacking themselves. This has been debated in other threads and in other forum many times over. These are probably the same guys who post that pistol and knife servers don't exist either. LOL yea I think an admin lock that thread LOL...

It seems like this game is dying a bit. I know I'm getting tired of the same maps over and over along with the same objectives (kill enemies and hold flags). You can only play this game so much. I, though, am starting to try new things, like helo whoring (fun stuff).
I had a hack moment yesterday. I was playing Sharqi and the enemy was attacking the northern base, north of the construction site. There was a supply box on the ground and an enemy I was going for hid behind it. He popped up and I shot once, a clean headshot with my G36E, and he was dead just like that. I'm sure he thought I was cheating.
But, the same thing happened to me on another server as well. One shot from like 100m away and I went down like nothing.

ususally when i get owned, and i think the person might be hacking/cheating, i always write down their name, and look them up here, so that i can check their stats to see if they are suspicious in any way
