I'd rather see the AF release pushed back and have some more bugs fixed. the original BF2 release was terrible in that respect, they've had problems with patches (not only historically but recently in the case of 1.3, now officially admitted as buggy), and there are STILL bugs left over from the original release!! I understand that highly complex modern software by nature requires much de-bugging, but this is ridiculous! Bugs shouldn't remain for the life of a product, they ought to be fixed in subsequent patches!
I don't understand how EA can call itself a professional game company and repeatedly release unfinished products. It's amazing to me. I would imagine (and would be surprised to learn otherwise) the vast majority of players would rather wait for a release that was almost entirely bug free as opposed to rushing something out the door to meet deadlines. Publishers ought to realize that they'll make back much more in dev costs if they release a quality product people will want to buy, as opposed to saving dev costs by an earlier release.
Too bad BF2 is such a fun game...but if they would be more professional (in my opinion) about releases and quality control it would be a truly great product.
I say delay the release and fix bugs...EA should do so to show it cares about making exemplary-quality products and about the people they're making them for.
::edit::
I should also clarify...I think BF2 is a fantastic game and (as you can see from my stats) I've put alot of time into it. DICE made a work of art with BF2...I just think that it could be quite a bit better if the bugs were fixed.
