So, any thoughts on Jagged Alliance Back in Action? The demo came out on Steam a couple weeks ago. God, it was so shit because the real time is such crap with your brain dead mercs. It just made me want to play JA2. Honestly, how hard is it to remake JA2? Update the graphics, add whatever new equipment and weapons, keep the turn based gameplay and the interface. It almost makes me think of never buying a European developed game, lol. JA2 = North American developer, JABIA = European developer...

It probably isn't. Cities XL 2011 felt like an early alpha, and if 2012 is $10 already, the Metacritic rating of 63 is probably well-deserved.

Sure, it'll be fun for several hours.
Be warned, it's only run and gun though. Barely no variation in missions other than "kill target", "retrieve stuff", "kill everyone", "retrieve stuff & kill everyone".

At some point it feels like the developers spent all the time to prepare a huge open world with great engine, but then ran out of time to actually fill it with people and convincing African savannah life. Then they simply filled it with endless supplies of soldiers.

FC2 had so much potential, e.g. a GTA-style open-world game set in Africa with a lot of side-quest and fun things to do.
Still better than Far Cry 1 in my opinion. That game was simply hyped up for its, back then, incredible engine and Hawaiian shirts.

Sad thing is, with the development of main stream gaming, especially console gaming, Far Cry 3 will be even worse:
Pretty graphics and sophisticated engine, but only cinematics, rail-way game play, dull run&gun shooting and over-the-top hyper-cool characters.
