good job hiding your address when you've provided the exact co-ordinates to your home via google street view.

Crysis/warhead are not real-world scenarios. comparing cpu performance in crysis is like comparing underwater bicycle speeds.

Like, a real game that people actually play and care about. 98% of the world care about their crysis fps just as much as underwater bicycle speeds. Besides CryEngine is broken and has never been an accurate performance measuring tool

Or here's a thought, gentlemen: use your CPUs for something OTHER than gaming. You know, like calculating shit? Encode photos, videos, fold some proteins, etc. Not all games are CPU intensive, some take advantage of all the available threads, others rely more on graphics cards.

PhysX Question.

I'm currently running a pair of MSI 560 Ti's (2GB) in Sli.  Would adding a PhysX card improve performance to the point of being worth the purchase?

I have an 8800 GTS XXX in my older gaming rig/server that I could use or recommend me a card.

System Specs:
Vista Ultimate
MSI 990FXA-GD80 MoBo
16 GB Corsair Vengenece Ram
(2) WD Caviar Blacks in Raid
AMD FX 8150 Bulldozer Stock Clock
(2) MSI 560 Ti's in SLI (2gb)
OCZ Certified Gold 850 PSU

Why bulldozer...? Physx is useless btw.

Why not?  I've always had good luck with the FX series.  Care to elaborate on why PhysX is useless?

Having dedicated PhysX will increase the performance in some games. I'm not sure how much it will add to an SLI setup, but it greatly enhanced Arkham Asylum when I tested a 570 + a 560 for physx and a 9800 for physx. 560 only got one or two extra frames, so back into the work PC it went.

On the down side, if I remember correctly both "physx" cards actually seemed to confuse other games, such as Mafia II. Disengage when not utilizing.

Thanks for the response.  I read an extensive article about about the PhysX benefits for Batman, it seems the developers spent extra time and incorporating as much PhysX effects as they could into the game and the results are spectacular.

I was leaning towards the GTS 250 which can be had for under $100 or my 8800 just to add a little extra kick to my system but I'm still on the fence.

Some of the physx in Batman kind of look corny though. Fog will displace like cottonballs as you walk through it, but it's still a pretty development. Some sources say that older cards may slow a new system down when used for physx. Try this experiment:

Benchmark a couple games with 560 + 560 physx, then benchmark the same games with 560 + 8800 physx. If there is a significant difference, you could acquire a better card for physx if you want.

Tempted to buy an ASUS Zenbook. I would be looking at the 13" version (specs: i5 2557M, 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD).

Anyone heard much about these? They look pretty ideal for Uni since they are light and slim but don't have a tiny screen (Not a fan of ~10" netbooks etc).
