Game looks awesome, just a bit disappointed that the tank rounds did not drop (or at least not significantly) over distance.
Why? I am glad it is that way.
Says the boy who whines about the m16 ejection ports being on the wrong side
That is shifty, but if you really want to go that way it is actually realistic for the projectile to not drop so soon.

But it goes either very fucking close or at its intended destination if a target is in range in real life. Same goes for this game.

I love the suppression effects from the LMGs. They took that one straight from project reality.
Dice hired some of the devs from the PR team, so that probably is where they got it from.
Can someone explain this to me? How does it work. Because suppressive fire doesn´t work in MP games, since no one really dies, so they stick their head out and return fire no matter what

Your vision will be blurred and you'll probably be rattled enough that accuracy will be shit.

If it's the same effect as the one used in project reality then it really does work. Basically any rounds that land near the suppressed player kick up a load of dirt and heavily blur vision. In PR you could fire back, but you wouldn't stand a chance of hitting anything unless you were right up close to the guy suppressing you.

Trust me, if they do it right, it can work exceptionally well.

It sounds interesting, also makes LMGs more like LMGs and less like assault rifles with bigger magazines.

Yeah it's good to see they are putting some thought into it. I'm really hoping they are bringing back the 6 man squads (I think it was 6, haven't played in years) as opposed to the BC2 four man squads....

Is there some kind of limit on how many words we can post nowadays?

Anyway, this is their take on it.

I could have sworn that I read something about giving you experience for laying down suppressive fire...maybe I'm imagining that.

If so, I would figure that as you start firing a support weapon a little progress bar shows your "progress" with suppressing the enemy, and then gives you a small amt of points after x amt of time.

Add in the kicking-up-dust effects that were mentioned, and it might actually become a viable tactic.

However that's all conjecture, and the ramifications of this would be pretty hilarious, with all of the unskilled players simply spraying near-endless bullets non-stop all round just to be able to earn some points...

You do, you get points for suppressive fire.

No quite sure how that all works though.

If the noob players on my team stick to at least marginally effective suppression firing, I'm ok with that if it allows me to make the kills or take the objectives.

But with an effective squad, two Supports working together to supprress fire while the other two players do their thing could be a damn well great tactic.

Yeah, honestly that's the best use for players like that anyway.  Throw some lead and soak up the damage from the return fire, while the skilled players take flags/accomplish objectives/actually kill enemies.

I don't want to get my hopes up too high for this game, but pretty much everything I've seen looks very promising.  The only negatives so far are the ezmode knifing and regenerating health, but those could be done in a way that I wouldn't hate...as much.

Yeah that's what it's like. The reason it works so well in PR though is that if you don't move, you will die in seconds.
With this stupid health regeneration it could mean players just stand there and get more lucky shots on you.

A Six person squad would be way to OP. That's five people too spawn on.
