It was alright. The action was mostly poorly shot (ie lots of quick edits in the fighting and shaky shots of the flying so I couldn't see what was going on). It had FAR too much pointless filler as well (oh hooray they're arguing for the 10th time in the film). Once the plot actually started getting moved forwards I started enjoying it more but God there was so much in it that should have just been removed altogether.

Yeah there was a bunch of pointless crap.

favreau's strength is not shooting action. Fights were boring, too much flying, really crappy final battle, just like the first Iron Man. Good dialogue. It's fun watching Downey play Stark. Cheadle is pointless, but the Rhodes character is meh anyways, Terrence Howard seemed more comfortable in the roll. Rourke tried so hard to make his character "real" that it became absurd. Rockwell had good moments. Johansson was fun to watch but mostly useless. Too many unnecessary sub-plots and the main plot wasn't very strong.

Not a 'big' film, but well made, seemingly realistic and worth seeing.
Archetypal POM caricature gets a bit wearing but I suppose they had to do it.

A lot of dialogue and sub-plots happen before the real fight takes place.
S.H.E.I.L.D. has a more of a pivotal role in this movie since it arc'ed all of the subplots into what Tony needed to do.
Samuel L. Jackson has more screen time. How many more times do we have to hear about the Avenger's Project/ Capt. America.
...it is becoming stale.
I wished the movie started with a mission much like how the 007 movies starts out, but oh well. The movie was decent to watch.

- Other countries are in the process of building armored suits.
- the U.S. govt. pressure in handing over the Iron Man suits,
- corporate competition, the CEO of Hammer was the right flair and what you would expect.
- running Stark corporation
- previous missoins mentioned.
- Tony's health
- Stark's / Vanko's history/legacy

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
Scarlet Johannson had a minor role or maybe I was not paying attention since I was staring at her chest and ass. Her fight scenes looked weird...not sure if some frames were cut out to make her look fast with the kicks and punches. There are a couple of scenes where she and Paltrow are standing side by side. I was sitting there thinking which one would I pick.
One thing I did not understand: Tony Stark accessed her employee records. there were spreads of her in the file. I was like what company would have employees pose like that, but she looked good though.
LATE UPDATE:
Spoiler (highlight to read):
Zombie ALERT: DJ AM was deejaying Tony Stark's party. He looked pretty healthy for a zombie

I didn't get to watch all of the film cos the woman came home and she puts me off watching films if she sits there tapping away on her iPhone or laptop. I shall resume at the weekend. Of course i've seen this film maybe ten times since i first saw it round my uncles's house in like 1989 (iirc).
To. Be. Honest.
It's even worse at home because you can't exactly say "SHUT UP DOUCHEBAG" to your wife without reaping the benefits for the rest of your life.
Half of the time, people don't even need to engage in the noise-making activity that's interrupting a show. They just do it subconsciously to impress other people. She might be trying to advertise her technical skill. Just be glad she doesn't sharpen knives during features.

The thing with IM2 that really disappointed me is that you see Whiplash in his final suit ONCE. And for 30 FUCKING SECONDS. That was incredibly disappointing. Favreau better work his shit out for Iron Man 3 in (what I'd assume to be) 2012.
Some people (loubot) didn't like the Avengers tie ins, but I did. It's really hyping me up for The Avengers movie in 2012. Iron Man, The Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Captain America, Nick Fury, War Machine, etc.
And I don't really know much of Joss Whedon's work, but if he can find a way to work Eliza Dushku into The Avengers (who he uses plenty), then fucking

Also, Serenity is good. Avoid the more common shit as I never watched it and can't comment but he's famous for Buffy and Angel, which I'm sure you've heard of.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
